The soldiers that survives bataan and escape the death march join the resistance movements. They became guerrillas and fought the Japanese for three years until McArthur arrives. My Lola was there during the war along with her 6 sisters and 4 brothers (she's the ONLY survivor out of all of them). In fact I was told from father 2 of my uncles and my aunt were only children at the time WW2 happened. And during the war 2 of my Lola's brothers were executed by the Japanese.

@raynermantos Actually dude only the Philippine Government and American governance surrendered... Not the soldiers. The soldiers that survives bataan and escape the death march join the resistance movements. They became guerrillas and fought the Japanese for three years until McArthur arrives. The guerillas were a mix group of american and Filipino soldiers along with Filipino freedom fighters.

Whatever happens from the past can no longer be undone.If we compare US and JAP now? Which one's the best country example for Filipinos? As a filipino, my opinion is, JAP Way of life. Look at JAP now, they don't bragged much of they're achievements. They're Gov’nt, Educational, Health Care, & Techi System is far more Excellent worlwide and they’ve maintain a sense of Strict&Respectable Society. No country is perfect but Phil should set JAP as an example. We are Asian, so it should be Asian Way.

Because the Philippines were a U.S. territory. They had been since 1898, when the U.S. ejected Spain as a result of the Spanish-American war. There was a plan in the works to grant the Philippines independence, but it had not yet come to pass.
