Yeah, being born the only female in my family, and our family name basically relies on me, I feel guilty at the thought of a wedding myself. I'm happy to see everything went well in the end. It's tough with the changes in family dynamics that you don't quite think about in the beginning, but in the end I think they are just happy that you are happy. Congrats to you guys!
I'm still bummed that I couldn't make it! but at least you are my brother so I could help you guys get a car lol We will be in Florida in just over 2 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I completely understand, but you shouldn't feel guilty. You give so much to this community already. You and your wife deserve a fantastic life together! Wishing you all the best.
Congrats glad everything went well and I am excited to hear everything went legal, I am so happy that we can get married in Disney this year then. As far as the guilt don't let it get to you if your happy then those around you will be happy as well. Also there is nothing normal everyone deals in there own way. My dad and I are very similar. I am sure they are very happy for you and you are awesome for including them and being aware of their feelings. Congrats again!
Once again dude. big congrats. Im posting this here in hopes to get a response. If you sent me a list of weeks topics and questions I hate that i need to ask for it again. As i dont knwo what topic we did week to week nor do i have the questions. You have been very busy and completely understandable. But i would like to be able to film ealier and not wait to see you or Brent post before I can do my own videos.
Of course anybody can arrange their wedding in any way they want. But I'm just thinking, if it was really important to have your dad involved, he could still give you away - like, you and your wife could both have your dad's "give you away." I don't think there's a need to follow tradition if you don't totally like it. I'm a lesbian and I danced with my mom at my wedding, so maybe trans guys (or any guys, for that matter) could dance with their dads too? But thanks for sharing- congrats!
Dude me and my girl have been together 24 years next month. Finally we will be getting married . I don't feel guilty and you shouldn't either. Thank God for trans laws that allow us to change our gender so we can be "normal". Congradulations !
@alexzane61 So you're saying that gay couples aren't "normal"? Dude, WTF? Let's all just try not to discriminate against each other within the LGBT community--we get enough discrimination already. Come on.
Don't feel bad, dude (but I get how you feel). Even though it's a different situation, sometimes I feel guilty cuz my mom never had the daughter she always wanted. But if you think about it, even if you never transitioned, it wouldn't have been you playing out "tradition", you would have been living for others instead of yourself. I think generally that's what tradition is. Doing what is socially acceptable. It isn't necessarily right though. You know?
You're right. That computer does make your face look wide. I was thinking that before you said it actually. haha I accidentally put "makes you face look wise," well it does that too.
