THIS DID NOT WORK FOR ME AT ALL. I tried it with 2 different scissors and I varied the water depth. It was pitcher frame non-matted glass. The scissors was a fiskers and the other was a rescue scissors the type that is advertised to cut pennys. I tryied angling the scissors. I didn't get anything that remotely look like a cut.

@JakeTheBeck well i tried this but instead of scissors i have a torch lighter and i kept it on the spot where i wanted the hole. i held the flame over that spot for 10 seconds flame up close and i took a screwdriver and started to lightly stab where i heated it....and i repeated the step and thats what pretty much worked for me. another way is to heat the area you want to make a hole and then rub ice over it but itll crack a little more than a hole size but it might work for you. try it bro.

They do actually cut glass, and if you wanted to sit there and go over the same line over and over you would eventually cut through the whole piece. I used to do it with glass that was 1/32 of an inch thick, I would run over the glass about 4-5 times and it would come apart without having to break it.
