  • wow, that focus energy is really work

  • dont fuckle with shuckle

  • Comment removed

  • SHUCKLE IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES!!! it has the highest defenses of ANY pokemon

  • That was funny when Skuntank had used Explosion. They made the Substitute disappear and then he went down. And they still had Stealth Rock set up. Nice job, Overhazard.

  • I do think its funny how pokemon just fight and not injure the trainders. And in in-game pokemon gyms, the area that you fight in is so small, how can the pokemon do anything and crush the surrounding trainers? :)

  • u would know that if u were a good trainer ;D

  • You mean the one with the Injurys everyone of it's foes?

If so, yeah that does sound a lil too weird, POKEMON are Dangerous!XD

  • Lmao, I knew that. XD

  • Ah, so it's cool then. Have you read Yanmega's Pokédex description? Whenever it uses Bug Buzz, it should blow up everything alive in front of it, Pokémon AND their trainers.

  • -.-

Sooo, you're saying the Go-Go Googles also protect there enitre body?

  • Hey, it's just a joke. There's no logical explanation for it.

  • What I don't get about Weather moves like sandstorm is how the pokemon takes the damage yet the trainer is totally unharmed. I mean should he be dying or something?

  • The trainers have the Go-Go Goggles. Remember in Ruby/Sapphire, how you couldn't go into the desert without them?

  • When the pokemon attacks , it's kept in the arena for safetey reasons and besides - you woulndt want to get disqualified (or w/e) as a pokemon trainer now would you?

  • what?!? isnt it a draw when both pokemon faint?

  • I still had Ambipom in reserve whereas this guy had nothing left after Shuckle.

  • oh yeah...

  • i have an strategy in single battles: ninjask-shuckle that can't fail, the key is use all the tutors in de gab version's.... and don't reveal all yours strategys!!!

  • I have a shuckle clefable team that is nearly unbeatable in double battles because my clefable has Magic Guard for an ability and moves follow me, protect, rest, and Cosmic Power

while my shuckle has the ability sturdy so 1 hit kos dont work against it for attacks power trick, gyro ball, toxic and earthquake the only fast way to stop the team is with a 1 hit ko on Clefable

  • Which can happen with a Surf, especially after you use Power Trick.

  • thats what the follow me is for

  • Follow Me has no effect on attacks that hit both or all Pokémon.

  • That wont work because power trick switches defense with attack no Sp. Attack

  • I'm already aware at who's at the top of each stat. You don't need to tell them to me.

Also, not all Legendary Pokémon are considered unfair. In fact, I think less than half of them are even Uber. Some, such as Shaymin, are pretty weak compared to the likes of Heracross or Tangrowth.

  • What are those thing floating around your pokémon?

  • That's the Stealth Rock attack. Its effects are continuous.

  • how does rest fail??

  • It can fail if the user is still at full HP.

  • Heh, I like Shuckle. But it's a bit too heavy on stall for me, which is why I've never used it.

  • I would agree, though for me, it's because it's hard to train a staller. I tried with Probopass. Progress is just way too slow...

How small is Shuckle again? Is it 2' 00"?

  • People, shuckle is 2nd in lead for most defence! It's steelix that has the highest defence. I got one with 453 defence and i can suvive a super powered solar beam/flamethower/frenzy plant/blast burn/any other strong fire and grass. And water =)No, i did not use a foucus sash/band cause i dont know how to get them.

  • Steelix's base Defense is 200; Shuckle's is 255. When it comes to the highest possible value for the Defense stat, Shuckle is at the top. (There are Pokémon who can take a physical hit better than Shuckle, however, such as Regirock.)

  • haha i find it halarious how the bes defencive pokemon of all got owned by a critical explosion XD

  • Not a really well chosen Shuckle moveset. There is better nowadays...

Good Critical Explosion strategy! Next to nothing can survive it.

  • Ghost Pokémon can.

  • Ok... Fine, I'll be more specific...

Nothing it actually hits can survive it.

    Happy?

  • Not completely. There's still a pretty low chance of a critical hit Explosion, even with Focus Energy and the Score Lens. I got lucky with Shuckle.

(Also, Aggron, Bastiodon, and Probopass can survive a critical hit Explosion just fine.)

  • ...I did say *next* to nothing...

37.5% chance isn't a bad chance to take when we're gambling for around, what is it, x3. Doesn't sound right: think I'm thinking of a different game. Anyway, that would be 750 damage.

Those three have double resistance to Normal and real high defenses, so they could survive, I suppose.

Then you have Protect/Detect, Fly/Dive/Dig, Focus Band/Sash. Heck, even just defense boosters mayl do the trick.

So I guess it's not a guaranteed kill.

    Good strategy anyway!

  • two things:

1: She may of survived that explosion IF it wasn't a critical hit

2: (Funny side) The substitute vanishing looked like the aftersmoke of that explosion.

  • I was hoping for a critical hit. This Skuntank was trained to do critical hits; I would have had about a 37.5% chance of getting a critical hit Explosion. Few Pokémon can survive one of those (except Ghosts, which would be completely stupid to do).

  • yea.

  • Aye. Shuckle is the pwnage when it comes to walls - Skarm and Bliss can't match up.

  • The reason why Skarmory and Blissey are preferred is because they can do direct damage and have HP high enough to withstand indirect damage. Shuckle definitely has its uses, as with any other very quirky Pokémon.

  • True.

Its Defenses are THE HIGHEST in the game, but Attack, Special Attack, and Speed are THE LOWEST. Its HP is only 20 Base Stat, too.

That's why some people just will not use Shuckle. No HP.

  • explosion probably wouldnt have killed him if it wasnt a critical hit

  • That's the point. This Skuntank's strategy is to get as many critical hits in as possible.

  • if shuckle had better hp then it would be an even better wall

  • If Shuckle had better HP, it would actually be unstoppable. Well, not unstoppable but it would stop everything else.

  • If shuckle's had power trick and swith it's defense and attack, he would be over powered.

  • No. He would had only a base 10 defense, anything would kill him. Besides, he's extremely slow and has little HP.

  • That'd turn Shuckle into like a Blissey, but with a crazy-high attack stat instead of a fair special attack stat.

  • And, unlike Blissey, extremely low HP. (A bit of trivia: Until Yanmega came along, Shuckle was the Bug Pokémon with the highest base stat total.)

  • nice battle! you took a risk with Xplosion though..if shuckle had survived he might have rested the damage away, and ambipom-shuckle would result in a draw....

  • No way it could survive that critical hit Explosion. I didn't intend it to be a critical hit, but that was another gamble.

  • Shuckle is one of my favorite Pokemon. I want to train it up for my Johto team, and I think I have a pretty good strategy for it. I look forward to perhaps a future match!

  • Hmm...Shuckle's defense and special defense stats are pretty uber IMO...more Uber than the Deoxys's defense and special defense (defense form).

  • yea but he also has some of the worst Hp(as in stat not the move) in the game =P

  • I think it was pretty cool seeing Stealth Rocks floating around even after the battle is over! Also awesome battle! The best battles are the ones where its super close, you took a huge chance Exploding on Shuckles and used that Focus Energy critical hit boost well!

  • Yeah, Shuckle has MASSIVE defense and Sp. defense, but has crappy moves.

  • Hey guys what do you think of this team

    Torterra

    Weavile

    Honchkrow

    Ursaring

    Drapion

    Rampordos

i plan on getting a wii and pbr sometime and would love to battle you overhazard just for fun

  • I don't know what you have planned for your Pokemon, so I couldn't judge your team even if I wanted to, which I don't. My best advice is to test it out online and judge it yourself like I have.

  • My plan his to raise them to mid-late 70's and then go online to test them if they prove uselees i'll relaese them i'v beaten the game already so it won't be to hard to raise new pokemon to take their place

  • Don't bother leveling that high unless they need to learn moves around those levels.

The online features of Diamond, Pearl, or PBR auto level things to either level 50 (on the Wii) or level 100 (D+P).

  • Oh okay thanks

  • the first 4 pokemon sound a lot like pual's team

  • Damm right paul has got THE best team in the animes history i hope he gets a gyarados then he would be unstoppable

  • yeah his team is very diverse which makes it unique

  • you are lucky that that shuckle didn't know powertrick and knew some physical move.

  • If Shuckle used Power Trick, I'd just attack, and bam! Knocked-out Shuckle.

  • Thats true over, but if he had a certain combinations or moves and items. That would not matter. Still, good battleing on your part like always.

  • Very nice. You have great strategies!

  • And this is coming from someone whose nickname is "strategist." I'm flattered.
