From what I've heard these chargers arnt as great as they seem. I have an uncle whose a cop and he hates them, the v8 is powerful but the car is cheaply made, the stearing wheel is falling apart, plastic pieces in the interior are already breaking, the v8 is powerful but without AWD it gets stuck very easily in the snow, and the smaller trunk means you cant put weight in the back, better then that tiny ford interceptor though, gonna miss those crown vics :(

The requirements for the police are for a car that is durable, very large, quite cheap, American, and reasonably fast. @SchnellStell All i do is get on my Radio. Yeah there is a Mach 1 heading southbound (color) Exceeding the speed limit . Then i call all units near that section of the highway to get ready to pull you over. if you dont stop and cant catch you they will call units further down the road to lay a spike strip. stop you arrest you, throw you in jail fine you. and then crush you Mach 1.

that's assuming i would be stupid enough to do this on a straight road. have you ever been in a pursuit? cuz i have more than once. and i have been caught 1 time and that doenst always happen. not what happens. it cost me 2000 bucks. and i still have my car. hell i wasnt even thrown in jail cuz the cop didnt have a case on me. took him 5 mins to find me. and i was stupid enough to admit it was me. cops arent around ever corner to box people in. and you cant catch everybod

From what I've heard these chargers arnt as great as they seem. I have an uncle whose a cop and he hates them, the v8 is powerful but the car is cheaply made, the stearing wheel is falling apart, plastic pieces in the interior are already breaking, the v8 is powerful but without AWD it gets stuck very easily in the snow, and the smaller trunk means you cant put weight in the back, better then that tiny ford interceptor though, gonna miss those crown vics :(

@1108chuck Neither the narrator nor the actor playing the cop are law enforcement officers. They're just actors. I wouldn't say that the creators of this video are condoning police brutality, but I would say that it's a little tacky for them to make light of a serious problem.

I agree with many points made in this video, but had to add some others.
Trunk space is non existence is right - but that's the least of the problems with these cars:
The blind spots from the C-pillar when making lane changes;
The low/sharp angle glass in our locality makes it hard on some officers at stop lights;
The setup of the trunk makes equipment mounting and storage of everyday items cumbersome
Very poorly designed, but mechanically sound so far

@godfather200185 I think your guys need to get what our police forces get an SS Commodore for their cars with an LS2 6.0 Litre V8 producing 270kW of power with a peak torque of 530Nm. The car comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission. 0-100 km/h is 5.2-6 seconds and that's before the police are done with it lol.

I wonder how many tax payers were mad when they saw this bs machine on the streets? Its a big fucking waste of money for sure. If anything, they have more style but they're now slower than before. This damn thing just heavy and it only has 340hp. Who do they expect to catch? If a street racer wanted to get away, they could do that with ease

@89powerup You do know that the Charger is much faster than the Ford, right? Like, when they tested the two head-to-head? The requirements for the police are for a car that is durable, very large, quite cheap, American, and reasonably fast. Nothing on the American market could match it on those grounds when this video was made.
As for a street-racer getting away, you can't outrun a radio. They'll see where you're going, and call in other units. It's not like video games where it's 1 on 1.

man that slow ass machine LMAO. It may have a few more hp than the old ford police car but, it was lighter to. The power to weight ratio on the ford would be higher than this. This big ass car has 300 and somethng hp. You not about to catch anybody unless they're either trap in a tight spot or they give in. They had a much better chance with the ford. Ford sucks by the way. Cops need to get a camaro. They'd really catch some people then. Unless they're on bikes lol

And now, there's a new badass copcar hitting the streets... the 2011 Chevrolet Caprice (not Impala) V8 Police vehicle just wiped up the field of contestants as of yesterday in Michigan State Police testing, which is the benchmark standard every year for police-car testing. It beat the Charger V8, the Ford Interceptor, and every other entrant except for the Kawasaki Concours 14 Police motorcycle in accleration, top speed, braking, and handling.
