  • amazing cabinet man. hope when i get mine finished its even half as good. been having few probs getting chd files for roms like street fighter 2 world warrior and tmnt. just wondering if u know of any torrent sites i can obtain these files from or if sites such as retro burner uk is trustworthy and a good site to pay for these files

  • Fuck....thats soo fucking cool dude!

  • How did u do that? i mean like how u make the PC run MAME without running other services

  • The awesome thing of MAME is you can delete AND add new games. :D

  • What version of MAME do you use? Also, what frontend, and what emulators do you use?

  • @sdragon1984 did you not check previous comments? I stated previously that the frontend he is using is called "mamewah", I have tutorial videos on my channel showing how to set it up. as far as emulators he's using Mame for arcade emulation, Project64 for N64, Zsnes for Super Nintendo and Daphne for LaserDisc. If you need help after watching my tutorials then send me a personal message.

  • man a geordie in the states, next they will put them on the moon with Ant and Dec!!!!

  • take off your shirt

  • which version of mame r u using, how you do it to change the emulator

  • Software?????????

  • I'm calling the cops

  • WTF? Why did you leave such a big Gap between the Buttons?

  • he has room to put a trackball to play golf and bowling games

  • no, i mean the gap between the upper and lower pushbuttons, it's like a full inch of space in between. I could not play this way

  • now that you mention it neither could I. i should post a video of my cab

  • like btmegadeth says more space for a trackball but also its easier to play 2 player :) I would want them to be spread out a little. I am probably going to get a prebuilt dreamarcades machine thogh becasue I dont know anything about building my own mame...though i probably could if I tried.

  • what mame emulator do you have that boots up from dos? that and none of my 3d games run at the right speed, and my pc is plenty powerful any advice would be great thanks!

  • Thats Wayyyyyy toooo badass man damn good job! i can tell you have put ALOT of time into this least id thing Configuring all that stuff messing with the wiring had to be a pain!

  • Do you have Pac man?

  • love the single-light tour of the inside :-) Looks creepy and mysterious and oh so cool.

  • Very cool arcade cabinet, good work. 5 stars. Try checking out mine. It is running Linux.

  • If someone can help me, I am wondering how he gets the 1 and 2 player buttons to quit the emulators, it could be that alt-f4 is mapped to those buttons but I doubt that since project 64 already uses F4 as a inconfigurable function to limit FPS and it would have to be used as the start button for controller 2 in this case...if anyone has any idea please send me a message.

  • obviously it wouldn't work as this uses a PC to run emulators for the cab. You can however get a selector switch and use consoles with certain control adapters but it's much more of a pain as you have to change games manually so it doesn't make much sense to put a console in on of these cabinets.

  • what is the software you use

  • anyone wanting to know how to do this go to my page and there are videos showing you what program he used and how to set it up. BTW it's not MAXIMUS ARCADE, it is MAMEWAH.

  • Great job and explanation...guess you know you have a minute of dead space at the end of the video. Was that what's called a J-Pac adapter you used to interface the JAMMA connection from the cabinet to the pc?

  • Maximus Arcade!!! i have a question how do u get your cabinet to start up like that help plz

  • hey dude great job on the machine. i got a question. how you get the menu of mame to be like that?

    let me know please, thanks

  • Please tell me where you got the ROMs. If you are willing, I'd appreciate it if you could send them to me through megaupload.

  • 1) go to Google

    2) search for: mame rom burning

    3) pick any of those links

    4) send the burner person money to cover DVDs, shipping and handling

    5) receive the complete ROM set (over 7,000 now I think)

Downloading more than a a few old ones is not practical. The full set takes up multiple DVDs.

  • Or you can totally disregard the post above me and just search up MAME ROMs.

  • what mobo and processors use to make ur mame? and u need a graphic card to n64games ?

  • NICE ...i have a question ......i've seen some of the front ends for M.A.M.E but how do you get them to play the actual videos of the game??? especially to bypass the stupid press OK at the start ....thats where im stuck at...

    thanx

  • Can you just confirm to me that you have paid for the 5000+ roms that you have installed on this machine? Lets say £50 per rom (some of the rare ones cost thousands, of course), that's £250,000, right?

Please let us know, otherwise you appear to be proudly boasting of stealing hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of copyrighted software.

  • leave him alone mate, you probably downloaded hundreds of pounds worth of music yourself...

  • Why would I do that??? It's illegal and you'll get sent to jail (you do realise there is a record of every file ever sent via the internet, right? Hence all the court cases filed by music and video companies in the past 12 months. Filesharing is over, and everyone is going to be fined/sued. So NO,I haven't downloaded anything illegally, okaY?

  • I think the amount of abuse you have recieved from various youtube members sums up what kind of person you are...the comments section on your profile amused me greatly and here you are preaching to this chap about his ROMS?

  • 'and here you are preaching to this chap about his ROMS? ' - see, there's the problem - they're not HIS roms. They are someone else's.

    He has STOLEN them.

Do you not get that, fuckstick?

  • mate my fuckstick was up your mums asshole the other night, and the dirty whore loved every second..

  • I am raping your grandmothers shrivelled cunt as I type....

  • terrible of you to announce your sick pastimes to others...

  • Hey, tell your granny, she's the one who paid me to di it.

    Sick old fuckbag!

  • Actually he may be right..in several reports in newspapers today ive read of normal citizens who have downloaded the odd mp3 being sent letters to their home address which can be traced via IP address and being asked to pay the record company or face court action...god knows whats going to happen to those mass downloaders!!

  • shut up and get off your high horse!

  • BLA BLA BLA are you from RIAA?

  • hey lindz , how did them yanks find that hardcore geordie accent of yours??!?!?!?!

  • It's not that hardcore, you can understand most of what he's saying...

  • its hardcore for an american, he sounds like one of those geordie dicks on big brother..liam or anthony

  • Your american..well thats your problem isnt it..

  • An American lecturing others on the correct use of the English language...wonders never cease!

  • Especially since you used the correct form of "your" in the first place. Haha

  • And you being quite immature for your age is clear retardation on YOUR part. There was no reason to outburst at me in the first place and you were definitely in the wrong to do so. I had to look at your channel to verify that you are older than I because you sure don't give that impression in your immature posts. Next time, think before you say.

    FK

    P.S. I mean, c'mon... "eat a deck betch" ? That's real grown up.

  • Nice! But why would you have it set in such a way that you would have to insert a coin...

  • I beleive he has done that for nostalgia, it makes it feel more like a real arcade and that's the way some people like it. Besides that, you can charge your friends to play it!

  • This is really cool. You could spend years playing all of the different games. Also there are a bunch more emulators he could add like sega and neo geo. The crazy thing about it is at one time each one of those arcade games had its own cabinet so thats like 1000's of cabinets rolled into one MAME machine. Really quite amazing actually.

  • If anyone needs help setting up MAMEWAH(the front end lindz is using) just click on my name, I have a tutorial on setting up mamewah on my channel! Good Luck!

  • dude do know how to fix one.? ibought one that came from mexico and just recently it stopped showing picture on the tube i got sound but no picture.rosendo 7677

  • heheh shhhhhanobi

  • Well done, Lindz!

I'm building my cabinet with USB ports so that I can use the original controllers for the console emulators. I don't like using the old school joysticks with Nintendo and newer games.

  • Cool deal...I was also planning on doing this when I build my cab.

  • Awesome cabinet! I just got my coin slots hooked to my X-Arcade and it is amazing and just like the originals. I have one question though how did you get the bridge intro on Dragon's Lair? Thanks :)

  • Bad to the bone!! I gotta bild one of these.... from scratch using wood and tools....sometime.

  • im currently building a mame and other emulater machine myself

the software you used to boot up your roms

    was it home made

    if so

hook me up with it haha

if not where can i find it

its perfect as aposed to having to load the emulaters through the standard windows os

  • very nice

  • Can anybody confirm if the frontend being used here is 'maximus arcade'? Cheers.

  • The frontend he's using is called MAMEWAH.

  • Nice frontend for your MAME, what frontend are you using? I am planning to build arcade cabinet too.

  • How have you been able to configurate Mario 64 to work with standard 8-way arcade controllers?

The original game supported the analog stick only...

  • great job but waste of money for credits why didnt you just use free credit

  • he can just open the cabinet and get it back. make a good bank loll.

  • You Have CHD's for MAME32?

  • wi i lad

  • Hi There

Exc cabinet mate.have built a mame + emulator p.c. running mala as a front end.would love to have the space to get a cabinet.did you buy yours and modify it or build it from scratch.

    Love it

    Ta Andy M

  • How long does it take to build the whole thing?

  • did u have to change the video card and cut any wires on the jamma harness

  • i want to know how you configed the exit for a game you press player 1 & 2 i tried that it did not work. i would like to know what file and what you changed. or if you could send me your config file thank

  • 5 stars! excellent work.

  • i always wanted to have a machine like that !!

  • could u sell me this machine....i would love to have one....or could u make one ....i will buy it from u

  • what front end are you running on this machine & where can I get it ? thanks :D

  • romnation(dot)net

  • Great set up!!!

Where did you find the time to get all those ROMS and where?

  • where did you get dragons lair and the n64 roms and what where did you get the front end load proggy?

  • Did you customly build that desktop arcade controller/ arcade stick? And if so, what method did you use, (keyboard hacking, keyboard encoder, interface, ext.) ???

  • very nice bro!!!.. aahhmmm can i ask u something? if i create that cab mame, can i use my tv w/out using that jpac, jamma, etc?

    thanks bro...

    keep it up..

    ^_^

    eugene

  • I think you possibly could but I don't think it would look as integrated, it might also be a little difficult if you need to configure anything etc in windows, but who knows.. I think you could get it working.. Not sure if i'd go that way though :)

  • because some videocards have a tv output right? ^_^

about the joystick.. i think it can be used also the usb joypad.. because i encounter the disadvantage of keyboard is while u press 6 buttons together at the sametime, the character inside the game is not moved... =(

  • wow i didnt know that...that will difently change my view on how im going to build my 1st mame cab. hmm

  • You should put a boot skin on it. There are some really good mame boot screens on wincustomise(dot) com

  • Amazing system, I'm impressed, and also I'm impressed seeing how little you spent too!

  • why not run GNU/Linux?

than you only need X + MAME

  • I'm a Microsoft Fan Boy, but also as I wanted it reachable on my Windows network easily through file sharing and remote desktop, which I can at any time the machine is turned on (its hard wired onto my Lan).

  • what kind of video card are you using and sound card.

  • what emulator are you running on your system, your cabinet is the best that I have seen!!

  • Look at my reply to Adnotsel below :)

  • Could you please tell me everything I need to make one like yours...I really want to make one...but I don't know much...thanks

  • If you dont mind sir, what emulator are you running on your system, your cabinet is the best that I have seen!! Great work!!

  • Sorry for the slow response, I'm using a few emulators, for Mame I'm using the windows version of the mame executable, this is what runs all the arcade machines, for the SuperNES I'm using zSNES and for the Laser Disk Emulator i'm using Daphne. The front end is MameWAH. It sits on top of a cut down version of Windows XP which runs MameWAH as the shell (this is new, previously I was running MameWAH in the startup, Now I replaced the actual windows shell with MameWAH).

  • the cab am getting now is changed , now its a 2 player with 3 buttons for each player , will it be easy fitting an extra 3 for each player? also are them games running on daphne any good? ie dragons lair and what not?

  • Jamma aracde cabinets actually interface 4 buttons as standard although most machines use less. So you will probably find the wiring in place just not connected to anything for the 4th button for each player. If not you may need to add that to your harness yourself (involves soldering 2 wires to the existing jamma connector in your machine, these wires then go to the 4th button for each player)

  • Buttons 5 & 6 are not standard for Jamma, but if you are using an I-PAC or J-PAC to interface the arcade controls to the PC you will find it has connections for you to add wires for buttons 5 & 6 for each player, you simply hook your wires in to the connections on the I-PAC/J-PAC and run them to the buttons.

  • Some Daphne games are ok, by todays standards they are all horrible, however the idea for the time was great, I like them as a historical marking point for integration between video and gaming

  • excellent machine! really well done.

  • thank you for your response. very helpfull

  • hi. i like to hook up a jamma pcb (with 140 games) to an arcade in a box. is there a away that i can get a jamma pcb with only 140 games, and not 1000?

    thanks

  • I'm not sure what the 'arcade in a box' your referring to is, but if you have the jamma pcb with 140 games on why not just use a small jamma cabinet?, if i'm misinterpreting what your asking, shoot me a private message and explain what you want to do and i'll help if i can :)

  • Hi friend I have a jamma cab ready to be used a few questions I need to ask please if u dont mind :)

    1. pc im gonna use is (1.8ghz Core2 duo/2gb ram/ati x1550 256mb.

    is this gonna run smooth?

    2. what is the name of the pc to jamma card you use? and is the origional screen thats in cab gonna be ok to use?

    3. how stable is mameWah? and what version are you using?

thanx I hope u reply thank you.

  • 1. That PC is more than enough to run pretty much everything Mame runs. Yes it will be very smooth :)

    2. I use two things, ArcadeVGA graphics card which converts PC video card output to a resolution and htz suitable for the Original Arcade Monitor (so yes the original screen will work fine in this case), the second thing is the J-PAC, the J-Pac takes the signal from the Arcade VGA gfx card and the Arcade controls and pushes it through the original JAMMA connector in the machine.

  • 3. I can't remember the version of MameWAH but I put the most recent version on it about a year ago now. Its very stable, I've never seen it crash yet.

  • how do u get all the 6 buttons to work insted of 4

  • The IPAC card has two inputs, you simply plug the buttons into the extra two inputs (by passing the jamma interface completely)

  • ill pay up to 1500 mius the shipping cost.

  • I wish I had the time to do you one, unfortunately time is just not something I have these days, my 7 month year old daughter makes sure of that :) However you could definately do it for that price, your best bet is checking ebay regularly, hopefully you'll find someone selling one :)

  • hey, how much would it cost for me too buy a machine like the one u built from u? could u undercut those that are charging $3,200? seriously if it cost u $400, how much would it cost me to have u make one for me?

  • can you show more of the cabinet please

  • Very nice cab! Congrats

  • Hi, I can't make it out, what front end are you using for mame? I like the menu system.

    Thanks!

    Kelly

  • it's MameWAH running at low resolution with some customized interface images.

  • I'm looking for someone to install a similar set up on my pc that I'm going to use for a Mame cabinet. This is all way over my head. Willing to pay good $, deliver and pick up the PC...Easy money for someone who knows what they are doing..

  • Hey Pat, I saw your video, you have the same setup as I used to have on my old machine, Except I was using ArcadeOS in DOS which at the time kicked ass, I haven't seen it recently so I don't know how it fares these days. Cabinet looks great.

  • yea LindzUSA mind pm me ya email id like to talk to you about building my own mame machine like yours!

  • how fast is ur pc and how does the jpac hook up to the pc

  • you are the shit my friend. the shit!

  • One of the better Mame videos out there... Thanks I have been in the emulating scene before Mame started, and have built a couple cabs myself.

  • Im gonna use ipac on mine

  • SOOOO. I decided to sell the original Capcom Vs SNK along with the SEGA Naomi from the machine. It's up on Ebay : cgi dot ebay dot com/SEGA-NAOMI-RARE-JAMMA-CONVERTOR-CAPCOM-VS-SNK-GAME_W0QQitemZ250144312132QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item250144312132

  • Good Job

  • Its actually sat in my cupboard at home, The came is actually a cartridge which fits in a SEGA NAOMI unit, I removed the whole NAOMI unit along with the cartridge, I should ebay them really.

  • What happened to the Capcom vs SNK game? o.o

  • Hey What Wires Did You Buy?

    (i.e. J-Pac I-Pac)

  • I used the I-Pac in the first one I built, in the one I show above I used the J-Pac, I much prefer the J-Pac over the I-Pac, combined with the ArcadeVGA graphics card and an original arcade monitor it kicks ass.

  • Nice machine...im curius where U found the daphne roms

  • Thats just awesome. I actually have the mame emulator on my pc, but it's nothing compared to the retro powers of that. Nice work!

  • that was a nice overview. it'd be nicer if you can spend more time on the jamma interface you used for video, buttons, etc. thanks!

  • very nice, im curious as to where you found n64 roms? Could you let me know? thanks
