  • i own this exact bass and have had it for like 3 years, it plays great, only problem is the neck is thick but you get used to it

  • I've been checking on ebay/CL/GC...what would a fair price to pay for a Grind(4 string)? 250? 275?

Thanks in advance, and great job!

  • @babablowme91 Hey man sorry for the late response, well I sold the one you see above for £200, but for second hand £250 is gona be a fair price :) IMO solid little bass.

  • @MatthewRThomas that'll come out to a LOT more in USD...250 pounds=$410 :/

But I can keep on checkin' ebay, or guitar center or whatever.

  • Your bass is awesome :o

Is it 4 or 5 strings?

And you have awesome skills it sounds just like the real thing :D

  • @LaNinjette The bass in here is a 6 string Peavey Grind, thanks :D

  • @MatthewRThomas from one bassist to another, peavey is THE shit. :P

  • You should post some original stuff. You definitely have the skill to be a great bassist but I would like to see if you have the talent.

  • @unamericano I've got some things in the works, if I get 'em to the stage i'm happy with 'em, i'll post them up =]

  • Peavy Grind bass ?

  • @RocoCTZ Yup, Nice little thing. =]

  • pretty damn good for 16....i couldnt jam the bass like that at 16

  • @OUIbaddie10 Hey thanks man, I'm just lucky enough to have the time I do to practice =]

  • how old are you kid?

  • @OUIbaddie10 16 When I did this, still am 16 :P

  • What tuning did you use for this? :) Also how is your bass set up? you seem to be playing pretty quick and with some force and its still really clean!

  • @AttitudeCastle Standard tuning (it's done with the Bb but that's used twice so I looked after the new strings). I tend to dig in very hard with my right hand haha. Bass is set up like any other standard model, guage is also standard (although I'm not sure which strings anymore xD)

  • What tuning did you use for this? :)

  • im noy pretty sure, but if could hear a little bit louder, i could say you're the first guy i find in YouTube, and i'm been loking like an hour, that can play Panic Attack at a decente speed xDDD. (sorry for the bad english)

  • @HeadShootingMaster Haha hey man thanks, yeah I know the mix is poor but it is me :P Check out a few others and you'll see they've nicer mixes.

  • How did you get that tone with that bass!!!

I have one of these (Peavey BXP 6 :) ) on loan to me and i can't get it to sound like this at all! :O

  • @AttitudeCastle Haha i'm going straight into my Ashdown MAG 3, and taking the output of that direct into an external sound card, so I guess it's down to the amp? Also a lot of treble in comparison to most sounds.

  • @MatthewRThomas

    Thanks man, ah cool,

I'm usuing an Ashdown Mag3 as well :o

The orginal recording used an ABM900/ An RMP pre amp all ashdown xD

  • @AttitudeCastle It's hard to beat the Peavey + MAG Combo haha, I've yet to find it better anyway xD

  • @MatthewRThomas

I've got personally an Ibanez BTB676, though i'm saving up for a Peavey of my own, and for a Gallien Kruger amp for gigs, but teh Mag is my Studio set up xD

  • @AttitudeCastle Aha A man after my own heart, just with deeper pockets it would seem!

  • @MatthewRThomas Haha! We need more brit bass players,

:) Well, i'm still kinda young but all and i mean ALL my money goes into my musicanship, it kinda helps that i'm an orchestra trombonist which gives me a little extra in the pocket!

  • @AttitudeCastle Very true man, and even better if it's prog!

I guess that would help lol, lucky for some!

  • What tab have u used for it and what tunning is that ? man great job this sound really good keep going

  • @roux44 @roux44 When learning this I did most of it by ear but if you check out a few and give them a go you'll find one that works for most of it. I used standard tuning of B E A D G C but there is a low Bb once or twice in where i'm out so i've had to go to the octave above.

  • That song has to be insanly difficult to memorize.

  • @zagorith14 Absolutely, the only way I managed to do what I did was to listen to the song over and over haha.

  • @zagorith14 Not really, the only things that you have to remember are the key changes during the solo sections, the scales are pretty much the same.

  • @zagorith14 It depends on the person, I memorized it fairly fast myself, maybe I'll post a video when my house isn't so cold, and I can actually use my fingers, I'm stuck picking for now.

  • @caveman5446 Hehe, yeah. Lucky for me, I'm a drummer so I don't have to memorize actual musical notes. My part is more muscle memory more than anything else. Yeah, I would watch that video. Watching people own on an instrument is alway fun to watch.

  • @caveman5446 Dude! I know! When my house is cold my playing is sloppy as shit when I try to play fast

  • @zagorith14 actually, it isn't... you have to practice so much, that memorizing just comes "by the way" :) check my cover pls: /watch?v=J7Llpzom6zk

  • you mixed it SO GOOD we actually can't tell the bass too much from the rest of the song, like in the original '-' xD

  • Your bass looks like a 6 string bass Les Claypool uses.

  • looks like a modulus

  • @morsenband916 I can see where you're coming on, but it's a BXP XD

  • @morsenband916 its fuckin sweet good cover

  • @morsenband916 Cheers man =]

  • hows the neck? is it roundish or flatish?

  • @Jakeocide Flat-ish, feels similar to a Yamaha RBX bass neck if you've ever had the pleasure.

  • cool man yeah i'm thinking of getting a 5 string peavey Cirrus bxp for my next bass...well either that or a Conklin groove tools GT-5 any opinions?

  • @Jakeocide Yeah, they're both great basses, but I would say for metal, prog, (i.e. the style of music in my covers) the peavey has the edge on sound and playability, with a jazzy sound if you roll off the front pickup, I would say the Peavey - try them both out if you can.

  • this is a really good bass cover good job! but what bass is that and is it 5 or 6 strings?

  • @Jakeocide Thanks man, and it is a 6 string Peavey Grind '6' BXP haha. It's got a great tone and playability, especially for the money.

  • Very Good!

Dream Theater is a pretty amazing band and the lead singer is my Dad's Cousin!

    Good Job

  • @flyers971 Thank you very much friend, they are most certainly an amazing band!

  • good job man! i wish i knew a bassist who could play like you!
