  • Take me back to Heavens on The Strand, 1989 trippin off my face to this tune. First time i heard this, voodoo ray, and that tune that was in the charts that slows down and the lady orgasms and then it speeds up. I was dancing my nuts off and fibre of my being was screaming YES!

  • @lateraldeano

That missing tune was Lil' Louis 'French Kiss'

  • @GazzaTrax Thanks mate. I had a mental block. All I could see was the littletoy drummer in the video. NUT NUTS!

And the bouncers taking packets of Rizzla of people and throwing them in a flower bed, i got searched and because i smoke roll ups the bouncers said i can have them all, so i picked them up and handed them out when i got inside!!!

Great times and great tune: ) Big up the small paper squares...........................

  • cannot get better than this ,used to roll the old eyeballs over tripping out to this beautyful track.still do .nice....very

  • @kingfisher250572 Yeah, you can get better than this and it's called 'Theme from great cities' by Simple minds, which this blatantly steals from and doesn't even give a credit!

  • @MisAnnThorpe if you forward the video to about 1:34mins and pause it, you will see that Jim Kerr and Simple Minds get credited, and that's the version I've got on 12" vinyl.

    I hope this helps ;O)

  • Pleasure Zone Slough was the one and only place to be on a Friday night during 1989, non stop, great tunes, people, love and everything else...

  • This is possibly one of the most frightening house mix I ever heard back in 89 when I was a teenager. And I'm saying it in a good way. And then Raven Maize brought it back as a remake in 2001.

  • @TheBwisemusic

I also went to Slough Centre in 1989 for several years, I lived for the weekend and all everyone wanted to do was dance and enjoy themselves. Best days of my life without a doubt. Made me who I am today :)

B4 you ask I dont have them converted yet but when I do (1 day) I'll send you a copy of em.

    Peace

  • @BruvaBob

Hey i have a tape also somewhere lol , yes if you do convert let me know , memory lane ;]

  • @bionicpineapple True they dont have pirate stations like them anymore although I still listen to a couple of pirate stations which is better than that shite they call kissfm which use to be good back in the day when Colin dale etc was on and b4 they sold out to sony.

Pirate stations now have to many mc's on thats the only problem.

  • TUNE

  • For those people that would like to know...the whole sample (apart from the lame Queen bit)...I should say the whole track is lifted (although reproduced to sound less percussive) from Simple Minds 'Theme For Great Cities'...an excellent track from when Simple Minds were cool! Curious please go here: watch?v=6FfCxLvV2nc

  • @letshaveabus Agreed!

  • The tune was redone in 2002 ?

  • yea & they fucking destroyed it

  • this was replying to the re release in 02 comment

  • I consider myself very lucky to of been at the right age at the right time to of heard these tracks on sound systems that regularly stopped working, then came back on at full volume playing something like this to bring the crowd to rush like crazy.

I'm sure they just stopped playing music and pretended the amps had blown.

Whatever. 1988 and 89 was a truly special time.

  • What tune, shut your eyes and you could be back at a warehouse rave

  • Comment removed
