  • Recent entertainment from the White House included Pres Obama trying to come up with a reasonable response to Mubarak's overthrow - AFTER - the USA has spent 3 DECADES supporting yet another dictator who will do our rendition torturing for us and support the Israeli oppressors and torturers too - in return for money and weapons. Most American's don't even know that the USA is the world's largest arms dealer.

  • A great interview. I will buy the book. Isn't it obvious to people that what this country really needs is complete change. I sometimes think people are screaming "change" and then I read or hear those special interest "corrupt" politicians taking money for their reelection campaigns and caring less about what is really happening in the world. What the debates showed me is how completely ignorant

  • Those who wish to "Export Democracy" are actually Importing Terror!

“If we think that we can do what we want around the world and not incite hatred, then we have a problem. They don’t come here to attack us because we’re rich and we’re free. They come and they attack us because we’re over there.” – Ron Paul

  • i completely agree with what he was saying about motivates terrorists. but i do not for one second buy what he was saying about the "offshore balancing". either we are going stop interfering over there or we're not. substituting one method of intervention for another is NOT the solution. what goes on in other countries is simply none of our damn business, and we have no right or authority to dictate or force our will upon others. just leave them the hell alone. PERIOD!

  • @nonrepublicrat

10-4. In his desire to define the minutae and the big picture on suicide terrorism (and whitewash his backer Rumsfeld along the way), he fails to acknowledge that US foreign policy for the last 40+ years has been to benefit corporate/economic interests - period. He needs to read Confessions of An Economic Hit Man by John Perkins and Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein. Suppression = Terrorism and the US routinely backs repressive regimes that allow our corporations to exploit.

  • An important message, conveyed in a succinct and lucid manner. My congratulations to Dr. Pape on his research and this important new book, and to the Campaign for Liberty for posting this interview.

  • Thanks for producing this important video rebuttal to the wrong-headed pursuit of U.S. empire -- and its failing "war on terror."

  • I appreciate Professor Pape's scholarship and thoughtfulness, as well as his proposal for "offshore balancing."

  • Thank You for such a lucid presentation. Your perspectives gained from such extensive research are appreciated. You are commended for your contributions in furthering our understanding of terrorism. Certainly these perspectives are to receive appropriate consideration for any 'occupation' policy maintained or planned.Yes, an equitable foreign policy, mindful of these findings, most certainly warrants support.
