  • lol family guys parody to back to the future

  • if you saw your parents....AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! right in they're faces

  • great movie.. from top to bottom. first two were best by far... third one was ok... wish it was better

  • I didnt mean to dislike thsi video

  • The way Doc says "Marty, you made it!" here is completely different from the way he said it in recent home video prints.

Apparently this was done because Bob Zemeckis didn't think Doc sounded excited enough. Shame on you Zemeckis for going down the George Lucas route (something you normally wouldn't do)! That's the worst thing ANY filmmaker can do!

  • @vnisanianisback

I just threw my blu-ray in and you're right. The "Marty, you made it!" is different but it is synced with the lip movement perhaps the clip in the Siskel and Ebert review was just a review copy that was pre-final cut of the film? I dunno.

Doc actually sounds slightly less excited in the blu-ray. Maybe they just changed the pitch of the phrase so that it didn't sound like he's yelling it. Odd.

  • @aBigSaltyDookie Actually no. It's a redub. If you listen carefully to the audio in Doc's voice in the blu-ray, the "You made it" part sounds much clearer than the rest of the audio.

I sampled the audio from this video, ran it through Audacity, and tried to experience that line by lowering the pitch several times. The only conclusion I came to is that there's no way that line was changed by lowering the pitch. It sound distorted if they did that.

Trust me, it's clearly a redub

  • to sum up the entire series.... BULLET POOF VEST!

  • It seems so funny to me that someone needs to explain what "Back to the Future" is about.

  • it's the best scene in a classic film....

  • The introduction to the Delorean still sends chills down my spine all these years later.... fucken awesome...

Too bad the company folded before the film came out!

  • Who else caught it at the movies back in 19....85?

  • @nonplayerzealot4 ha! i remember, i saw it in the theater, i remember the year of the showing being 1984, because in the movie marty says it's "1985" and i remembered it because the year was a year ahead.

  • this guys look well dressed , very trendy for they're time.

  • B to the F... FOR REAL!

  • Notice how long the clips were on At the Movies vs. Siskel and Ebert?

  • God l♥ve yeah S & E!

  • Kids never think they're parents were young and parents never think they're old...loved that.

  • Futuristic mumbo-jumbo, with a light dusting of science. I sat at the edge of my seat and shed one small tear when his siblings began to vanish.

  • @hdtwoodsman Manly tear shed.

  • a Capra-esque classic

  • i love this movie.it made me love the whole time-travel concept

  • It is great

  • Michael can talk fine now...has his disease progressed a lot since like 2007?

  • I can watch this movie with anyone and everyone and it seems nobody complains

  • friends don't let rubberjaws flap!!!!!!

  • Eberts future is bleak.

  • @bloboshitful yeah but still better then yours

  • CLASSIC! Hell, I'd say this is Back to the Future is dating better than some of Spielberg's better films.

  • Gene died Michael can barely talk and roger cant talk

    sad times

  • @yellowcougar18, I realized it the very first time I saw the film, and realized just how great an actor Christopher Lloyd is.

  • DONT FLOOD IT.

  • born 9 years after this came out an yet i still love this movie. Lol

  • I saw this in the theaters. Man, I'm getting old.

  • SIskel describes Christopher Lloyd as "pretty good" and said his character was based on Jerry Lewis' nutty professor. Come on! I've always liked Siskel, but Lloyd was more than "pretty good," and his character was original!!!!!

  • @Monkofmagnesia The more one watches the film, the more we grow to love the character. One has to watch the film over and over again to realise how great the character is.

  • @Monkofmagnesia Christopher Lloyd has said himself that the Nutty Professor was one of the inspirations for Doc Brown.

  • it is hard to believe that this was done the year i was born...great movie as well

  • I'm very glad that Siskel loved this classic so much. However, it's probably not right to give *all* the credit to the screenplay. There were so many important factors perfectly done that allowed BTTF to be so good: the perfect tone of the leads, Silvestri's classic score, etc. An obvious demonstration of how the script alone wasn't enough was how they had to recast the lead to MJ Fox because the humor or liveliness that Zemeckis was going for reportedly wasn't there with Stoltz.

  • Such a great movie. "That's the Power of Love!"

  • one of those rare moments when gene siskel absolutley was in love with a great film...he couldn't stop giving enough praise to this classic!!

  • "there's that word again...heavy"

  • My best friend from grade school loved Back to the Future. It's a shame he died in 1989, and never got to see the whole trilogy.

  • @gspendlove Sorry to hear about your loss! It makes you wish, you could go back in time either to prevent his death, or bringing the BTTF bluray box, a bluray player and an HD television!

  • One of the only flawless movies ever made.

  • back to the future is a CLASSIC movie love it

    !!

  • @tmovieman104,please dont even think that out loud, give these dumass writers n producers an idea to try to remake this classic!

  • @29larron

    Even worse a prequel

  • i wish i could bleave noone would be dumb enough to remake back to the future! but unfortantlly someone proably will someday.

  • Siskel does a great impression of Michael J Fox in this review

    ...just hold down 7

  • @Googlystube Wow. Real mature.

  • @cinemaspaz c'mon it was funny and you know it ;0)

  • I am your density.

  • Did this got "Two Thumbs Up" from them? cause this is one of my favorite teen comedies of the 80's and I have the 25th anniversary trilogy on Blu-Ray,cause Michael J Fox and Chris Lloyd are legends and also are "Siskel & Ebert", so 5 stars for this flashback review for the Spielberg/Zemeckis iconic classic.

  • great great movie!

  • Do nerds like Back the Future? ... I'm torn

  • This is one of their best reviews. The movies is great and their review of why it's great is great!!!

  • @ExodusPessoa damn! that's great! isn't that great?!!

  • Man, Ebert always compares every movie he likes with It's a Wonderful Life. Let it go already Ebert.

  • It's so good to see a classic Siskel and Ebert review that I agree with for once!

I saw this movie at the cinema on the re-release last year - one of the best moviegoing experiences of my life. The audience were laughing out loud throughout.

  • When this thing hits 88 dislikes you're gonna see some serious shit.

  • @Zander10100 Never gonna happen!!!!!

  • @Zander10100 Best comment ever

  • Ebert in the 80's reminds me of my Grandma, because she still sometimes wears similar spectacles (until I finally bought her Tag Heuer one for her birthday).

  • Fucking love this trilogy

  • I love Back To The Future!:)

  • Does anyone else think ebert;s voice sounds like that of michael moore.

  • Great movie---loved it.

  • 1 PERSON DIDNT MAKE IT BACK TO THEIR FUTURE!!

  • Saw this on the big screen last October (2010) 25, at 7:00 pm, exactly 25 years after Marty went back in time. I was too young to see it when it first came out. What a privilege. Fantastic to see it in the theater. If anyone reading this gets the chance to do the same, I highly suggest you do!

  • @SomeJackass29 Its So Much better in theatres. Just saw it in February.

  • @thadarryl Glad you seized the opportunity. Hopefully It will be in a theater again in our lifetime.

  • That's messed up they're ragging on Red Sonja like that.

  • Great film. i actually bought it at mcdonalds when they were doing a promotion.

  • Best Movie of the 80s!!!

  • 1 tasteless asshole

  • wow Roger Ebert looks like a total nerd.

  • @Stantzs yeah he could hardly be any uglier.. although in the mid to late 90s he somehow started looking more normal

  • @Stantzs

One of us, One of us

  • whose the mofo who disliked this!?

  • Its impossible to dislike this movie

  • One of my favorite movies. How can someone not love this movie?

  • @Moviefan7359 Can you imagine Michael J. Fox & Christopher Lloyd switching roles with Scott Bakula & Dean Stockwell in Quantum Leap? ;)

  • @Diakron79 That would be AWESOME!!!!! =D

  • if you think about what movie won the academy award for best picture in 1985 you xould not name but you would know it was a drama yet a comedy like back to the future a scifi comedy would never got nominated and is seen as probably one of the best of 1985 if not the best of the year it says to me there is a fundamental flaw with the acedemy awards process

  • I have zero criticism for this film!!!!!!

  • EPIC!

  • Timeless classic.

  • @GarnetBering93 Pun intended?

  • @TheKoopakirby HAHA! No. Thanks for catching that. :P

  • Wow. He compared it to Capra's It's a Wonderful Life, that's a pretty good comparison, and quite a praise.

  • oh i see siskel is such good friends with robert zemekis he just calls him bob. what an asshole!

  • @pladampa What's wrong with the name, Bob?

  • @027220 I was being sarcastic like they were friends, Its hard to be sarcastic typing LOL

  • @pladampa Oh.

  • 1.21 GIGAWATS!!!!! I fucking love this movie. I hope for BTF4 if they can do it right.

  • Beat it McFly

  • The thing that stops the paradox is that most of the time you want to time travel. So just time travel by accident and problem solved!

  • Dammit, now I kind of want to see the Brigitte Nielsen/Arnold Schwarzenegger version of BTTF.

Gene and Roger were right on with this one.

  • @evan1975 For the 'record,' of course.

  • @evan1975

And while we're at it, what about Red Sonja (or Conan) starring Christopher Lloyd?

  • Siskel said Marty "bumped into" Doc Brown. He didn't. He was ASKED to be there!

  • @videowatcher2268 Dude, this review was made 25 years ago when the film first came out, and S&E saw it for the first time, so don't blame them for such minor problems

  • @videowatcher2268 . thats what you chose to focus on? disappointing.

  • @videowatcher2268 I think he said bumps into as an expression.

  • miss those guys

  • what an enjoyable movie.

I watched this so many times.

but sadly, my DVD of this copy burned out cus I watched it too much and I couldn't watch it for 5 years.

Can someone tell me a good website to watch it for free?

i don't wanna buy it ahain

  • @juliusyeung0330 Relax. It's coming on Blu-Ray in a couple of weeks.

  • It could have been ruined if Selzter and Friedburg directed it.

  • One of the best movies of the 80's

  • @ae86miami of all time

  • @ae86miami I think top 3 movies in the 80's. Simply awesome if you grew up in the 80's and you have this movie as one of the first you really remember watching as a kid.

  • @ae86miami one of the best movies ever.

  • @ae86miami Ebert gave a great review to this movie---he nailed it.

  • @ae86miami Right on!

  • @ae86miami of ALL TIME!

  • @ae86miami of all time for that matter!

  • Why is this review so hard to find?

  • @AnalyticalMenace Because it's from 1985, when Siskel and Ebert was still called "At the Movies". Buena Vista took over the show in 1986, and all of those episodes are more readily available.

  • @AnalyticalMenace It wasn't that hard to find. It was there on the side bar, then I clicked on it. No problem.

  • @AnalyticalMenace True, but there's more to it when the show was picked up by Buena Vista they catalogued them more efficently then they were before. Since the show was Public Broadcasted it probably could be said that the original masters for that era are now lost. The only way to see these pre-86 tapes is if someone uploaded their original VHS recording.

  • @AnalyticalMenace The website that had all of their reviews never even had this review on it, they only had everything up to 1987-'88. It's hard to find because someone recorded it and hadn't loaded it yet. It's kind of cool, actually.

  • @AnalyticalMenace Here's a question I have, did these guys review TRON?
