  • I'm well aware the video concerns vehicles, but when the narrator uses the word "vehicle" on average, every 20 seconds, the word becomes more than redundant.

Count: 19 uses over 373 seconds = "Vehicle" used in every 19.63s

  • @ShallowBeThyGames yeh made me laugh with his accent. but its a great video and i rate it 10/10. Give some credit before knocking something.

  • @fcukyourmother "Vee-heck-al".

10/10 is a bit generous in my opinion. 10/100 is more acurate, there was tons of skipped steps. There are series which go into far greater depth which show some really handy tips.

But still, "not the worse I've seen" is the best praise I can give this one.

  • This video and most comments are a joke if it were that easy for the average joe blow to paint there own car. It wouldn't take 4 years of solid training to become a qualified painter. And then a lifetime of learning after that. Not only that you forgot to mention what happens when you fuck your paint job up. Tell them how much more out of pocket they would be if they took there fuck up to a paint shop to be fixed as well as the original cost to paint

  • nice video!!! very helpful!!! i would like to ask if you know, what should i do if i do not have a pro-furnace to bake the car..? are there any alternative ways to have at least the same results if not exactly the same..?

  • yea cuz we all got a heat booth out back haha

  • when applying the wax and grease remover what towel or rag should i use

  • @remtheoneilo clean towel and wipe the surface with a tack rag after it so theres no dust / fibres on the body.

  • i dont have an automotive oven, can i just take the car outside?. i live in Arizona temp here is 120 all the time!!

  • seems legit

  • if i want a flat black paint do i put a clear coat, thanks

  • @dude12345274 use a flatt clear. But you dont need too , The flatt already has enough durabillity using a regurlar clear will just add shine and ruinn your finish.

  • what car is tht at 3:30 ? ?

  • @meelas010 Late 70's Pontiac Firebird.

  • im painting my car and trying to decide between base/clear and single stage.. the single stage is much cheaper and its not a show car.. can you wet sand and buff a single stage paint? i want it to be smooth as glass when i'm done.. ive also heard it does not last as long. any help would be appreciated!!

  • there is a lot missing here.

  • I swear on my life that your voice is I-DENTICAL to the character "John Shooter" from the movie Secret Window 2004.Or...IS THAT YOU?:O

  • veheakle

  • You talk like Big Daddy Don Garlets.lol.

  • whats the CFM in this booth?

  • i went down to the auto store. got me some sand paper and a can of spray paint. sanded and painted it. job done

  • In A place called perfect, you dont have to wet sand and block!!

  • If repainting an old car using the orig. color, can I just sand any rust spots & spots where the paint has worn/chipped away, then do a light sanding over the entire area? Or should I actually try to sand the whole surface down to almost bare metal before priming it? I need to do things "on the cheap" and by hand. I have no access to power tools but i really need to do SOMETHING to my car, as the paint is getting bad and needs attention before it gets worse (mostly clear coat bubbling off).

  • @nightmathzombieethan prep work is the most important of the procedures. painting the car is just icing on the cake. i'd suggest you sand the entire car and do the job right the 1st time. prep work is crucial.

  • @tone103189 Yeah, but should I only sand the bubbled spots down to bare metal? or the whole thing down to bare metal? I DO intend to repaint by using the factory color too. Thanks for the advice BTW...

  • @nightmathzombieethan You will need to sand the rust spots completely, prime, and paint those

areas. Allow the paint to cure for 24 hours. Then you can lightly sand

(with 320-grit) the entire car and paint it. You can use single-stage or

base coat/clear coat. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

  • @nightmathzombieethan You can't sand paint off a whole car. You will destroy the metal underneath and destroy your sander. You have to use auto paint stripper. You also can't do auto painting "on the cheap". Just sell the car and don't waste your time and money if it's that bad.

  • @EXP0SEtheFRAUDS A little fatalistic are we? I can't afford a big dollar paint job so I should just sell my car? I don't know if you noticed but there's a crapload of videos on here of people doing CHEAP paint jobs on their cars. I'm not interested in showroom quality, I'm just looking for a solution that will protect my cars body from rust, and look a little better.

  • excelent, nice to finally see an autobody video on youtube with correct instructions to the letter! bravo, keep up the good work.

  • @eyewarnedyou Correct...but as you mentioned, this is a basic video.

  • So you don't have to use Primer when you do this?

  • @mitridaawesomeone You only prime spots taken to the bare metal or bondo. The primer only increases adhesion.

  • @mitridaawesomeone you dont have to use primer if you dont break through the top coat when sanding.

  • Was this done by the guy who voiced Kleetus the slack jawed yokel? His speaking rate was so intolerably slow I couldn't get through the whole video. He was obviously reading a script, and reads VERY slow I guess.

  • @bashpr0mpt soooorrrryy soooooo slllooooowwww.

  • great video!

  • Hi I'm currently doing a home project paint job with a $100 portable car port as a paint booth and was wondering how long should i let the clear coat dry due to me not having a heated booth?

  • @Krazy1st At least 24 hours...about 10-15 minutes between coats. When it's all done, remove all the tape after about 30-45 minutes then let it cure for 24 hours.

  • you are a very interesting man.. -.-

  • great video. thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge with the general public. painting yourself really saves a lot of money during a restoration project.

  • Helpful

  • boring 1

  • ve-hickel!

  • @GeeArk lmaooooo but still good shit !!

  • how do we get the gloss effect

  • @DarkNation58 You get the gloss using the clear coat. If you want more gloss, you buy high gloss paint and clear.

  • Cool video. One question: in all these paint car videos, I always see a closed car being sprayed, what about the door jambs? and since the handles are taken out how do you open the doors? In the first base coat layer, do you spray over the car, then open the doors and keep going in the door jambs? Thanks

  • @dimitriosart Usually you only paint the door jambs when you change the color of the vehicle. Then you would remove the doors and paint them while they are off the car and then reinstall the doors and paint the rest of the car.

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz :(

  • sheeyit sucka nucka; the info be damn fine but not the paint job!

  • you guys wait 10-15 min between paint coats. your paint booth must not be heated! we have a heated paint booth and its only 2-3 min between coats. i guess it also has to do with your paint system too. we use sherwin williams and thats what our paint rep told us

  • Comment removed

  • this video is informative but very boring

  • @jsanford35 Maybe they should have added in swooshing sounds like Fox Sports does during their graphics so that people with ADD would stay entertained, that or maybe a few pyrotechnics with lots of smoke and sparks!! Would that do it for you? Or… would you need a computer generated image of a half football player / half robot jumping up and down as well?

  • @lugaraxhandle Thanks for the suggestions....I'll do that with the sequel!

  • When can i was my car after painting it? Is there a special way to wash it and do i need some kind of really soft sponges? If you can answer my question i would really appreciate it. Thanks

  • @Specialized1993 Wait at least a week to wash it. Nothing special required...just a saoft sponge or a good quaity car wash brush. Sorry it took so long to respond.

  • Wet sand the clear, medium compound followed by polishing glaze.

  • You can't read? The caption under the picture says this is just for a facelift. You only prime a car when you apply Bondo or take it to the metal. However, with your limited vocabulary, I understand that so many two syllable words may have been too hard for you to understand.

  • wtf when the hell did u apply the primer smart ass no primer wtf no primer = ur car will look like shit aand prime paint clear coat

  • how long did you wait for the base to dry before spraying the clear?

  • @monstadick usually when it becomes tacky. Depending on temperature and humidity. Typically about 30 minutes with average temp and humidity. Drying agents may also affect this time.

  • What do you recommend for a gun? I have a couple cheap ones, but I was looking at an Iwata lph400

  • @XwP1ayawX An Iwata is a good gun. Also, you might consider a Sata. Hope this helps you.
