Delete my comments before this one, I figured it out. Make the Beacon Sensor "Output World Position" make a Gate>Arithmetic>Add and a constant value of about 25 or 50 (to make it not target your feet). Link them like this Target Finder>Beacon Sensor>Add>Hoverball, Constant Value>Add. This should work perfectly.
Good demonstration, but this thing is not with me when I get high up in the air. Also its more accurate if you have the beacon sensor tell the hover balls the height they should be at, instead of telling them they have to go up or down. (good to have if it flips)
The reason why it isnt accurate is because it senses difference between it's targets z-axis and its own z-axis (this explains why yours gets screwy sometimes). So what tool is needed to output the targets z-axis?
can u make a thing whit a turrent that folows anything that it picks up an shoots at it? and can move both forwards and up? (shots everything except its owner)

There is no value range anywhere, that must be an old version of wiremod. What would I use instead?
