  • IT IS TRUE ?

BUT YOU MUST HATE BILL GATES.

    PLEASE VMWARE FUSION FOR MAC.

    I USED IT BEFORE.

    I CAN JOIN COMPUTERCLAN.

  • I love snow leopard

  • SNOW LEOPARD = EPIC FAIL

  • Vista="One of the greatest missteps in technology history"

  • hahahahaha fanboy

  • TRUE! Paying for a small update, wtf? Windows has those in SERVICE PACKS for FREE!

  • It's not an update. It is an entire OS on a disc. You can use it for a clean installation. This is WAY better than a service pack. You WinTards don't know anything.

  • No, it's an update just like a Service Pack is for Windows. It's based off the same architecture as the other OS X's with a few changes in the kernel. The only major significance is it utilizing 64 bit architecture that supports up to 2 TB of memory.

I know plenty about computers, you obviously do not.

  • Of course it is the same architecture. Windows is always based off the same stuff. Mac OS X has way more things than that though. They have a new set of developer tools for GCD and OpenCL. Those are two major technologies.

  • "Windows is always based off the same stuff."

That's like saying Windows 95 has the same architecture has Windows XP. There is nothing new to SL, just performance increases and allowing 64 bit. XP has a 32 bit and 64 bit, but you never saw people yelling that i was a new OS made by MS, just a better XP for power users.

  • You still don't get it. Mac OS X had 64 bit in previous versions. There are new features and integration features like Microsoft Exchange support. That comes free in Snow Leopard, where on a PC, you have to pay for that extra support.

  • You sure about that? Windows 7 comes with it on certain versions, and Windows 7 is an entirely NEW O/S and not a service pack that costs $29 to update to. Secondly, why would I care much for it? I get all that on my phone to begin with and hardly use it on the computer.

I also know the music in the video is copyright.

  • It's used within legal limits dumbass! You Windows users woulnd't know anything legal. Windows 7 isn't a NEW O/S. It wasn't re-written. Mac OS X Snow Leopard had re-written apps, That is NEW. Windows 7 was not a re-write. It just had new features.

  • Really? I don't see any evidence of it belonging to the TV show HOUSE or the media company.

I know plenty of legal, stupid. It is part of my current job. Windows 7 has not even been officially released yet and you're talking like that? That's funny, but not surprising it comes from a Mac-fan boy. W7 is totally redone and it is a new OS with new architecture, it surpasses everything on the Mac, too!

PS: I also use Fedora and Ubuntu, so I'm not exactly a fan boy. Nice try, though.

  • Secondly, a Mac user shouldn't be talking about legal issues. Something about XEROX ALTO comes to mind...

  • Don't say anything about Apple stealing from XEROX. XEROX handed it over to them.

  • Do prove they just "handed" it to them. The reason why Jobs was even allowed a tour at all, was because Apple gave them stock options.

    JOBS STOLE IT FROM XEROX!

  • Bologna! Microsoft then just stole from Apple.

  • And where did Apple get its idea for Mac from?

    DING!

    XEROX! =D

  • OK, but Apple was the first one to get it on the market.

  • And it only took them 11 years to get 4 straight quarters with a profit

  • They sold more Macs than PCs back then. They were clearly the ones that people wanted.

  • Oh please, no one knew of a Macintosh until the iMacs started rolling out. All you heard was Windows 95 and Windows 98.

  • Bullshit, the Macintosh was great when it came out. Windows didn't even exist then.

  • Macintosh was murdered upon the release of 3.0. Since then, Macintosh held a small portion of the market. Windows 95 nearly destroyed Macintosh.

  • Idiot.

  • Retard.

  • The icon video thing is real. I just installed snow leopard on Mac and when I put it in cover flow I can watch the videos while they're in icon mode instead of having to open them! =D

  • Comment removed

  • really good video

  • QuickTime X looks better than QuickTime Pro.

  • Whats the Song?

  • For my intro? Teardrop by Massive Attack.

  • thanks

  • Not that it matters but Quicktime pro will only be bundled with snowleopard if you already have a Pro account within leopard. So if you don't it will just install Quicktime X but if you have a pro account it will install both

  • I stopped at "Now there is a scroll bar" are you serious? This is so stupid, snow leopard is going to be such a waste. It looks like Apple is pulling a Vista, enough said.

And I take no sides, so my opinion is a legit opinion, they added "Put back" and "Stack Scroll Bars" whoo! That is why you all are talking about how cheap it is at "$30!", looks like a rip off of leopard with small additions.

  • Only 30 bucks for the upgrade from Leopard : )

  • 28 :D

  • i luv mac lol „Ω€®™æ¨œøπ[åß∂ƒ∞∆ªº¬@∑†©√∫˜µ•™™[#]¶÷‹~¥«¥~‹÷´`

  • MacOSX-Comes with free GSOD,and gayness

  • I have had way more BSODs than GSODs.

  • U used windows 98?Windows XP has no BSOD my friend. And,u get BSOD's for being idiot,if u behave nice to your PC,u never get it

  • XP does have BSOD

  • No it doesnt, its comand codes were modified,so it wont have it,in fact,it doesnt even crash anymore

it just shows Errors instead of crashes

  • Yeah it does, I have gotten it a billion times in XP.

  • No BSODs at all?

lol n00b. Care to explain WHY then that people even still ask for help troubleshooting BSODs?

I'm not a mac fanboi at all, but I'm laughing at your general stupidity. You're comparing a DOS based OS to something built on NT.

But then again, what have we come to expect from 13yr old, inexperienced human beings, especially when reading your horrible grammar.

  • i dont understand the part of the 32/64 bit, leopard is 64?, what are the good things of 32?

  • will this snow leopard work for the imac g5??

  • No, it needs Intel.

  • but mine is a imac g5 2GHz intel core 2 duo will that work??

  • A G5 is not Intel, it is PPC.

  • oh ok hold up im confused then arent the g5 the white ones they look like the new ones just couse their all white

and couse when i put about this mac it says [2GHz intel core 2 duo],so know im confused and dont know if my computer is a g5 lol

  • If it says Core 2 Duo, it is 64 multi-core Intel. Therefore it can run Snow Leopard. =)

  • ok thanx

  • Quicktime X is going to replace the current version of QuickTime. As well, Snow Leoopard is Fully 64 bit.

  • I remember hearing that it doesn't have all the features QuickTime 7 has and if you try to open a file or use something that it doesn't do, it will allow you to install QuickTime 7, side-by-side, so you can use the QuickTime 7 features that were left behind by QuickTime X.

  • Wow I can't stand the way you talk. You have waaaay too much saliva in your mouth.

  • Usually that does not pick up on the microphone. I was sitting too close to it.

  • I was a Windows user... since I was a kid, so I practically didn't know Mac at that time, but since I used iPod, then slowly looked over to LEARN TO USE A MAC, WOW, its a LIFE CHANGER! All the things that I hate in Windows, I don't have it in Mac. But to be honest, both sides has pros and cons, not to be biased, both products are good, its just the matter of which one you are choosing. However, I do recommend Windows users to try to learn to use a mac, it does make your life simpler and faster.

  • this is how i look at it

    macs for everyday use

    windows for business or office

  • don't forget windows is for games too ^^

  • yes that 2

  • oh and another

macs can run windows right on them so.....

  • i have been a mac user since elementary school and it was amazing when i went from a school who had all macs no pc's to a school with pc's and i begged for a mac and finally got a imac. when school projects came around i would blow there minds they would ask me how i would do it. i told them i had to all of it manually where really it only took me 5 mins to do it on my imac

  • me too! :D *mac-5*

  • the first thing you talked about was in linux

  • How do I get snow leopard Build 10A394?

  • no problems, Personally i dont think anything ground breaking will come from microsoft, apple or linux. I was kind of hoping google might be working on some crazy new OS

  • It is called gOS, seriously.

  • Unix based OSs have a lot in common.

  • Snow Leopard is copying Microsoft's oldest features. I mean, like for the put back feature, Windows had that since Windows 2000. And then, the idea of adding icons beside the text s old things for Windows. I'd rather stay with Windows XP or upgrade into Windows 7 instead of changing to a Mac user using this Snow Leopard OS.

  • What icon text thing? Besides, Windows copies many things. Like the search in the Start Menu, it's like Spotlight, Automatic wallpaper changing, Mac had that since 2000 with Mac OS X 10.0 Beta.

  • Put Back was also in Mac OS 9 before 1999, so Mac had it first.

  • Yeah, windows is ...asfasd.fa.1!"·$!"·$!

Sorry, I had a blue sreen attack!

Really, Windows has failed me over a zillion times, mac has never done something like that.

  • I was bored with playing playing about with the terminal in mac and caused a grey screen of death...so much nicer than the blue screen =D

  • i think u mean kernel panic. my mac had like 5 a day. it got so bad i tried upgrade to leopard but it broke.

  • This is why I stick with Linux, I've onl;y had it crash once and that was because I was attempting to update the kernel =D, I just wait for OS updates now :P.

  • Taskbar is nothing compare to Dock. That is why Windows 7 Taskbar has become a Dock. It's just the beginning of a whole new Mac Clone.

  • Windows 7 Taskbar is not a Dock,,, barely comparable. Its not cloning the Mac it simply improved what it already had. The quick bar, which as been in windows for a long time, as simply been combined with the taskbar itself to produce the superbar,,, its not based off the docks, and it is very useful.

  • The Dock is better than the stupid Taskbar. The Taskbar is shit. The Dock is way more expandable than a stupid Taskbar with a stupid Start button.

  • lol

  • Vista was a bunch of copies from Mac OS X. You are so wrong. MS copies more features than Mac OS X does. You WinTards never seem to get it.

  • Also that little trash feature is nothing new. you can do that windows.haha

  • How, I have never seen that.

  • Dude you go into the trash bin then you rite click and hit restore

  • u could do it since xp. maybe even 2000

  • hey thats the House theme song!!

  • most if not all of this was presented in the WWDC the other day

  • Most, they introduced Dock Expose, Safari 4, and more QuickTime X things.

  • The hard part is waiting till September.

  • U STUID WASTED MY TIME

  • i love massive attack

  • Anyone else notice the video length?

  • A Q regarding the "Put Back" feature; what if I deleted for example a movie file from a folder named for example "DVD Movies", then I deleted the same last folder; the "DVD Movies" also! what would happen if I select the movie file from the trash I've already deleted from the "DVD Movies" folder that doesn't currently exists, then chose the "Put Back" feature, does the Finder will recreate the deleted "DVD Movies" folder to put the movie file back in it? or it would notify me what to do? or...

  • Like in Time Machine, it would say something like "would you like to select a new location" or something.

  • Thank you!

  • thanks for info :)

  • That new Window-feature is probably something they had to make because Windows 7 is going to be really good at that.

  • My friend! this is a sincere advice! ditch Windows and come to OS X! you will never regret!

And if you must, you can still use Windows on the OS X natively both are your choice, 32 or 64-bit mode! via BootCamp...

Hit two birds with a single stone! be wise; thats for your own benefit...

  • Or use parallels virtualisation. Command Tab between OSX, Linux, XP, Vista etc...

  • I do that with VMware. Only with Windows 7 and OS X.

  • does VM ware has 8-core , latest Direct X en open GL support?

I know parallels made a big jump.

  • 8-cores, I am mostly sure, but the DX, I'm not sure. Mine runs DX9 and Shader Model 2.

  • Yep! That is true, but I'd rather stick with Sun's VirtualBox; than to use parallels! VirtualBox is absolutely free and solid as rock, never ever hanged nor crash...

But if you noticed; I said: "... use Windows on the OS X natively...", therefor I mentioned BootCamp in that manner...

    Thank you

  • Oh no, don't misunderstand me, I'm already a mac user and have been that for years (since 1993).

I am looking forward to Snow Leopard. It's going to be great. However I have been lookind at what Windows 7 has, just to kind of compare them. Windows 7 has some cool features, but it's still Windows with the crappy explorer, and non logic C: and D: and all of the other hard to do things. But sometimes MS actually comes up with some not so bad ideas. And I see that Apple has used these ideas.

  • Or use CrossOver. It's really good. Sadly it doesn't run everything, but for the things it doesn't run, you use Parallels or whatever.

  • What's CrossOver.

  • CodeWeavers CrossOver is a great nifty application built from the WINE (WINE Is Not an Emulator) Project. CrossOver and WINE allows *nix to run Windows applications "natively" on Linux/Mac. It results in a higher performance than running in a VM, but not all programs work. However, I love it.

I put natively within quotations as it is more like a hybrid between running natively and in a VM...

  • House theme song!

  • when is it so posed to be released

  • WWDC '09, so around June.

  • Thank you so much so around the time of the iphone 3.0 software?

  • You bet!

  • Nice I can not wait. do u when they apple is releasing the iphone 3.0 software?

  • They just said in summer.

  • O THANKS

  • This isn't a really big secret...

But the Put Back feature is awesome

  • i dont under stand whats so good about put back? cant u just drag it back to the desktop?

  • Let's say it is in a directory that is folders and folders down, so it automatically puts it where it belongs.

  • ohhh i see

    that feature..

not being a fanboy but windows already had that

  • Yeah but Vista and 7 have many things OS X has already had.

  • Where is that feature located.

  • below the directory/glassy stuff on top and above the files

thats true im not argueing :)

  • So, you're saying it is in Vista?

  • uhh im currently running windows 7 but i thought vista had it... maybe u have to right click for vista im not sure

  • Seriously? What about the thing with Stacks. Can you do that in your Dev build?

  • hey cool video dude i cant wait 10.6 and also wot is the name of the song you used at the start

  • It's the House theme, called Teardrop by Massive Attack

  • Snow Leopard is going to be awesome, better than Windows 7.

  • snow leopard i adding a ton of speed ups and stuff into it!

windows 7 is just a slightly changed look, touch screen compatible (multi-touch where have i heard that before??? LOL) and a completely original dock... LMAO!!!

name 1 feature windows has had since 95...???? thats what i thought!
