Who needs Guard + 2?

Amazing video, I'm trying to become a better evade lancer (as I've used guard through Tri and Portable third and I recently returned to this game), what high rank armor sets do you recomend and what would be the best way for me to improve on my evading, as my timing is the worst in the world.

@kriegervonsasuke oh oh wait, who needs guard when you can evade with 100 hp and no stamina?... lots of variables, good compensation of movements is better than spam one movement... guard when you need to guard (large AoE attacks in a bad position, wind, etc.), and evade when you need to evade (direct attacks for example)

@Noieter Evading is not very reliable.Guarding may save your life but if you block a multi-hitting attack you will lose alot of sharpness and stamina.If the monster follows up then you wouldn't have enough time to survive after recovering from the blocking animation unless you dodge away.The best way is to position yourself to always be in a position where only weak damaging/no attacks can hit you.

@kriegervonsasuke yes i agreed but there are few attacks that do multi-hit, and only lose sharpness if you are a GS user, so when you wear a shield, guard becomes more effective. And yes... the recovery after blocking an attack is awful, but you can combine (just after a succesful block) an evasion (step or roll, depends on weapon) btw nice vid... and nice discussion

Um....There ur completly wrong for me lance is the best weapon in the game.A weapon can be only strong if u know how to use it and learning how to lance takes a while.

One tip for people that like to use lance. Lance isn't made to guard all the attack its mainly dodging :3 and when u cant dodge like a charge etc. use the almighty GUARD XD

There's a dodge/roll for the Khezu 'triple electric shock' on MHF2. Maybe you should try it out on MHF, unless you already have and it only works on MHF2.

It's not a hack or anything, when you roll/dodge, you have a split second of being invulnerable, called the Moments of Invincibility. Watch Vehemuz's Moments of Invincibility video for more info.

I am so shit with a lance vs plesioth but when i saw this video a plesioth is soo easy. the timing is a bit easy. you just gotta tap x when the plesioth is just about to barge you (you have to be in the lift off position) and the plesioth just goes throught you and then you just gotta turn around and give him some stabs. man i never knew lances would be soooo useful , i guess it makes up for the slow pace you go when you use it.

You don't have to do it backwards but it's a lot easier. And some moves, such the YKK peck or charge does have to be done backwards or you will get hit.

It just depends how large the radius of the attack is.
