  • Component is Superior to HDMI, because the three colour's R=red, G=green, B=blue, are split into three separate signal connections, which retains a purer rendition of colour with no loss of detail, whereas HDMI has one cable for all three colours R,G,B, and sound, which makes it impossible to retain the same depth of colour contrast, it's just more convenient for dumb-ass consumers, whom get confused with the three cables of component and left & right audio.

  • There's really not a big difference between component HD and HDMI.

  • how am i meant to see the difference with 360p

  • just listen to the sound of the voice. they're trying to BRAINWASH us. well it isnt fucking working you bitch!

  • no it isnt, CUNT!!!

  • Very helpful.

    Thanks.

  • the one that is worse with either comparison is zoomed in, no shit its gonna look worse! goddamn bastards at whoever made this video

  • now you know

  • Bulls**t.

  • Hdmi has about 25 channels component has 5 and composite has three with one for video lol even though component and hdmi can carry the same 1080p quality the hdmi can give significantly better FPS rate so because more FPS better quality along with a digital audio cable the reason the one cable is better is you shield only one cable and major ones inside since you shield only one you can have fucking awsome shielding real easy

  • hdmi makes lik everything smaller

  • I see the same shit...

  • it give good resolution, but will it blend?

  • component and HDMI = WIN

  • Why is she out of the kitchen?

  • She never said what resolution the component cable was set to. If it's set to 1080i component looks almost identical to hdmi. The reason is because there are usually three video cable associated with componet cables. That allows you to out put a higher resolution. HDMI is still slightly better, but the disparity between the two is small.

  • Bull.......shit woman..

  • Ok a bit better but actualy Composite ain't that bad

  • @LockMacFly

try running composite cables on a 1080p TV, with a fast paced game. It look horrible.

  • @GlobalGaming101 yeah, my hdmi cable broke one day and i had to use the regular composite cable and it looked very bad on my 65" 1080p tv

  • You cant really see anything from this video due to the quality. you need to see it for yourself

  • HDMI=High Definition Multi-Media Interface.HDMI is Digital but just because it is Digital,it Still Carries Both Digital-Video & Digital-Audio Together,in 1 Single HDMI I/O Connection. In COMPONENT,the Signal is its"Original Red.Green.Blue. Signals regardless of its Analog Nature".Simply because HDMI Carries Both Digital Video/Audio Together,it does NOT necessarilly Equate to a Single R.G.B. Video COMPONENT Signal of the Original Broadcast.Since HDMI has been Restricted toClass 1.3,Component BEST!

  • oh no, i never knew that HDMI was better than composite. Good thing this advanced video helped clear that up.

  • I have an hdmi for my tv but for some reason it just wont work

  • When the three comparisons were first displayed ... they all looked exactly the same to me

  • "Standard" HDMI. HA!

  • we cant see the difference because the quality of this video is shit

  • YAY BATMAN BEGINS!

  • ROFL LMFAO BULLSHIT... shouldn't be a drastic change at all.

  • @cobh8crew2009 FYI, component can carry the same 1080p as HDMI, and it's also bullcrap that tv's won't accept 1080p from a component cable, then the TV just sucks.

  • No Shit

  • component and hdmi doesnt have much difference....dont know what shes on about ive tested both.... both very very similar...

  • @thelunn It really depends on your TV

  • 0:50 ... well obviously... the one is stretched in full screen where the other is in wide screen >_<... lol

  • This video is completely pointless on a 360p video, not to mention we have no idead what the camera's resolution was.

  • There is barely any fucking difference between component and hdmi. Both have their pros and cons but I personally prefer the former.

  • @Paspiedreamcast erm...Where have you been for 5 years?

  • @AgustinNoesEverythin I haven't moved on to HD yet and I use neither. But, I like my video and audio cables separate which is why I prefer composite, s-video or component over any of the scarts and hdmi.

  • ......

  • batman begins

  • this video is complete and utter bullshit, just ignore everything she says

  • This is misleading. There's no difference in picture quality between HDMI and component. HDMI merely allows the video and audio to occupy one cable which is tidier, and being a digital standard, other information can be passed using HDMI, such as data that tells the TV to change its display method. For example, a DVD mastered in 4:3 aspect ratio can instruct the TV to display it that way automatically, something you'd need to do manually with component.

But the picture quality is no better.

  • shit video

  • this is clearly a fricking HDMI promoting add!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

  • There is really no difference between Component or HDMI in terms of picture quality, I prefer component as I like my audio and video separate (video to TV, audio to Hi-fi)

  • HDMI wins FATALITY

  • I have a composite cord that came with the Wii I got from Gameestop...But I don't have an HDTV...however I think my flatscreen...not hd, has the cable plugins...

  • @owlman113 composite - red white yellow if im correct that isnt hd

  • bullshit!

    hdmi marketing.

  • Ahhahhaa se said far.

  • cant see difference

  • IS COMPONENT CABLES ONLY FOR HDTV'S????

  • @aniggnigg yes

  • finally i see no differences

  • it can see all that but can it see why kids love ciinnamon toast crunch

  • @garrett33351 lol your comment made my day

  • @year2kill2010 thanx man

  • I actually prefer my 1080i component tv over my 1080p hdmi tv,

  • Another Corporate Orwellian cunt taking advantage of the general consumer's ignorance.

Component superior to composite? Absolutely. HDMI "FAR superior" to component? Hardly.

  • @Onneff69 Component is better than composite beause it can pass 480i-1080i, but composite can only pass up to 480i. on a bigger TV, you will notice how bad compsite and even s-video looks compared to component and HDMI.

  • Anyone can un-focus the camera

  • they need to do something about the antenna wire now Its only 2 conductor how can HD signal possibly be sent through a 2 conductor wire with out looking blurry? There needs to be HDMI antenna wire now.

  • This video doesn't really say much. For most of you people (Who all haven't a clue), here are the differences between component & HDMI.

    1) Cables - HDMI uses 1 digital cable. Component uses 5 analog cables.

    2) Resolution - HDMI can handle 1080p, 1440p, 3D, and 4K. Component can only go to 480p. (It can display 720p and 1080i, but badly)

    3) Audio - HDMI supports digital 7.1 surround audio for all formats. (dts, dolby, etc.) Component uses analog stereo.

    Need I go on?

  • @Dylanlip actually you can make component use 7.1 surround sound as well. and component also displays 720p and 1080i good. but then again HDMI is better as it can display 1080p

  • @Dylanlip True.

  • I saw a bigger difference between component and compostie than component and HDMI.

  • Component only goes up to 720p/1080i. HDMI goes to 1080p.

  • its the girl from teamspeak thats says stuff like: "Connected" "Connection Lost" "user Entered you're channel"!

  • bitch, there is no quality on "standard composite connection."

bring some life to your speaking, if i had to be sat in a room listening to this voice over and over i'd probably kill myself, or at the very least go insane.

  • wow, very helpful and instructional.

You can really see the difference on quality, especially in 360p

  • Stop using "standard"

  • useless video.

  • She is so fucking monotone I hate it

  • @Burnout00221633 yeh shes like a robot, needs to upgrade to polytone lol here is a "standard" monotone voice and here is a "standard" polytone voice as you can see i need to stop acting like a robot and stop bumming hdmi

  • Batman Begins :D

  • Same shit

  • go to 0:10, then 0:32, clearly they changed the video....

  • can anyone tell me if an hdmi cable will convert rabbit ear signal to digital... and also will this change the picture to color.. or should i buy a new tv?

  • @TWOhits6 buy a new tv

  • @TWOhits6 Dude HDMI only changes resolution and sound quality of your HD tv

  • @Burnout00221633 ya my dad says they had HMDTVI 30 year s ago and says its all garbage.. nobody used it i might just convert my ps2 to high speed instead

  • @Burnout00221633 which is enough

  • Youtube makes it worse.

  • there are comparing composite to hdmi but.... the video is only outputting in 360p? wtf??

  • Helpfulll

  • There is no freakin' difference between component and HDMI

  • @Soap1O well there is a difference but you have to use very technical software which analyses the algorythms in video codec displayed you can get some interesting results which the human eye is completely unable to see which makes the whole excersise outside image resolution coding for Tomahawk cruise missiles completely pointless and an academic debate amongst Nerds lol for us mortals theres no difference but for the guy who doesnt see the sun for years working on HiDef flight sims there is

  • Is there a demo someplace on how well a snes game looks scaled on these things?

  • i wish i could get my 1:03 minutes of life back!

  • This is just bbb-bb-bullshit

  • hahaha @ blurring out everything.......NOOBS!!!

  • hahaha, god this was so bad, seriously. every kid can see that the videos where edited! the composite one was just blurred. u even fucked up the apect ratios, how stupid are u? and the component cable in this video looks better than the HDMI, god u guys are stupid as fuck.

  • only bullshit.

  • I don't understand. She says there's a 'far superior' improvement in quality between component and hdmi but she says component is a little better than composite. BULLSHIT! There's way more of gap, if you look, in terms of quality between composite and component than component and hdmi. Stupid fucking bitch.

  • @enamul

dude the girl is just reading what was given to her jesus calm down lol

  • This is an Composite, Component, and HDMI Resolution quality test, buy HDMI.

  • resolution != (is not equal) to better video quality. wtf.

  • the fucking ratios arent even the same for christs sake

  • she talks very very VERY boring learn to have some expression in your voice you sound like a computer program that talks in those weird futuristic movies

  • 0:45 you will see that the hdmi video is smaller than the component thats why is better

    this video is a scam.

  • Its like those spliced in clips in old movies :SMOKE:

  • This is a load of Bollocks. That american cock sucking bitch can shove it up her behind and call me Mary.

  • @Jamriko

    <3 heheheh

  • @Jamriko Heh. Go to hell damn brit we won the war.....Or the WARS LOL

  • It's not far superior, it would be slightly better. As for sound, hdmi sound is far superior to standard av audio cables.

  • component looked the best lol

  • stop watching pirated movies you dick!

  • this was rigged. if you look at the videos before the "side by side" comparisons, you'll see none of them were blurry at all, and were all completely the exact same. but then once the comparisons started, you'll see that suddenly the other sources become exaggeratedly blurred. this is def a 'fixed' commercial.

  • i saw jack shit between component and HDMI

  • i played fifa world cup a week ago and the graphics were awesome clear picture, the players were awesome and everythinkng)

but yesterday i wanted to play a little adn the picture is fuzzy and everything ( hte players are very bad ) and i think that the dashboard changed textures a little too

i got an hdmi and hdtv

do you know what could be the problem?

  • hod do i use HDMI on my xbox do?

  • @pimmivenema go to ebay and look for "component to hdmi"

  • Its an exaggeration to say HDMI is far better than component video. Component video is perfectly capable of delivering the same 1080p full resolution HD signal as HDMI. In some cases one may have a slight advantage over the other depending on the equipment, cables and cable length.

  • @Blackdimond8000

If you didn't know this well I'm gonna tell u and it's that ps3 graphics are much much better than xbox360.When you play god of war 3 it's only using 60% of ps3's graphics potential.if someone made a game that used up 100% of ps3 graphic potential it would be ten times better quality then god of war 3.and ps3 is more reliable than a xbox360 cuz Microsoft rushed the production of the xbox360 and didn't test the system good enough like the ps3 was.the good thing about ps3 is that

  • @IntensityHD think you got that back to front, sony as usual rushed their console out to try and compete with the 360. do some reading.

  • @blackdimond8000 both have a higher graphic quality for it's exclusives because developers can spend more time on graphics for just one system. On multi system games like call of duty, etc. the graphics are the same for all definitions. So your wrong about the xbox is better because there's only one limit in graphics and they can both match it, but only one can match it AND make larger games and that's the ps3

  • It doesn't exactly help its own case if the video trying to show us the comparisons between different qualities when the video itself is around composite quality itself. Can barely make out the differences. :(

  • I have an xbox 360, what resolution is beter for that, 1080i or 1080p?

    Thanks.

  • @scorpion360000 1080p......trust me

  • @scorpion360000 1080p is better because its progressive. If you had to choose between 720p and 1080i then 720p is always gonna be better because its a progressive signal

  • po maior foda oq vc fez com esses bagulho

  • She said Component had a slightly better resolution than Composite? I thought it was superior. HDMI had a slightly better picture than component, yet she said Superior.

  • hdmi is the best then component, composite cant even be compared to either of the other 2 major difference hdmi = 1080p component = 1080i composite = 480i

  • @C815richard But i bought a sony component cable and it says it supports up to 1080p on ps3. Does it not go that high? And is there a big difference between 1080p and 1080i? Sorry for all the questions.

  • @C815richard Component also supports 1080p

  • Such a one sided review

  • thumbd up if you think the way the her voice sounds explaining things is annoying

  • @theorderoforange thumps up if begging for thumbs up is stupid.

  • Just hook up both HDMI cables and Component cables from your cable box to your TV.. Turn to an HD channel then switch back and forth between the component and HDMI inputs to see any differences. I did this a while back and HDMI looked slightly better.

  • This wasn't helpful its CLEARLY an HDMI commercial.

  • @spaz2145 I agree

  • I think the HDMI was in 1080i, I saw some interlacing with the buildings passing by fast.

  • I have a question, any help is greatly appreciated. My friend installed a dish network setup for me and used an HDMI cable going from the HD DVR box to my Toshi. REGZA 52 inch LCD. My sound distorts every now and then and I have to reset the box to get the sound back. He swapped boxes and HDMI and it still does it. Now he's telling me to go component instead because he has been told that my box has a history or doing this. Should I go component or do something else? Thanks

  • @dskeetgt Component really might fix this (actually I'm certain). What it does is separating the audio from the video (individual cables) and sending the audio to the TV in the traditional wave-like way: a standard stereo RCA connector, nothing can go wrong there. HDMI sends a bitstream whose format can vary and therefore cause issues.

Then you have 3 connectors for the picture (green, blue and red) and the two regular stereo audio connectors (red and white - don't mix the reds up!).

  • @dskeetgt It is probably just dish networks signal. I'm sure it has nothing to do with your HDMI because that is the best cable for audio and video. So it could be your signal with dish or your tv speakers are giving up.

  • is a long hdmi cable better than a short hdmi cable?please reply me !!

  • @tasos756 Same

  • @tasos756

is A long dick better than a short dick?

  • can someone tell me i looked on ebay for ps3 gold plated hdmi cable and all of them where for under 4 £. are these real or fake? and should i get them??

  • Don't trust this video. Component is indistinguishable to HDMI in most cases.

  • lol go put some batteries in your controller fucking faggot xbox fanboys

  • Do you know what best HD is ? your own eyes ;)

  • @kennyboyke our eye is not HD but UMMIHD = Ultra Mega Maximumum Infinite High Definition

  • @kennyboyke only if you have 20/20 vision,actually there are cameras,with higher definition than 20/20 vision.10 megapixels is better than 20/20,and I saw a 12 megapix camera.

  • i just tryed my mw2 with both component and hdmi and hdmi sends out better sound and picture by a mile.

  • HDMI vs. Component - the only way to tell if one is better than the other is to try it using the same equipment (same television, same console [satelitte, console, whatever]) and test both cables. Reason being is that the two are so similar in how they break up the image and deliver the image. In some cases the component cable is actually better quality vs. HDMI. So saying one is actually better than the other is actually false, as it does vary depending on the equipment used.

  • @IChrisThanI its also a good idea to test different HDMI cables, you may not realise but there are substantial differences between a1.2 HDMI cable and a 1.3b HDMI cable especially 1.3b as there are high speed cables that offer from 8bit colour upto 32bit colour also 1.2 only supports 5.1 surround and 1.3b supports 7.1 dolby digital surround (dont just assume that any HDMI cable is as good as any other)

  • Great idea, like any one can see a difference between them on youtube video.

  • There is no difference in quality or resolution between Component and HDMI. Where did they get their facts for this video!?

  • there is a difference between component, and HDMI. the xbox360 can jot out put in 1080 P they can only output in 1080 I. While The HDMI cable can support 1080 P, not only can it support full HD 1080 P it also supports Dobly true HD, and DTS- MASTER AUDIO HD

  • @KolerikRocks Yeah, the only REAL difference is that HDMI supports 1080p. But again, in terms of image quality, there isn't any noticable difference between the 2. And as far as the xbox360 goes, there is no benefit in using HDMI over component, as the 360 does not output a true 1080p resolution. It's simply 720p upscaled. As for sound, thats a totally different topic really...

  • The difference from Component to HDMI seems negligible.

  • NO DIFFRENCE and little batman looks gay

  • And this is why I f**king hate my PS3.

The HDMI just up and stopped working. Resetting the display settings didn't work, unplugging everything didn't work, screaming my lungs out didn't work. Assassinating Sony is my next option. We'll see what happens.

  • Why does this woman talk like a slowmo-robot?

  • all it did was make the picture smaller...

  • Well there u go

  • in component vs hdmi , the hdmi has the screen smaller that the component, take a look

  • its look the same the component and an hdmi

  • this is so flase the composite is purposely blurred in the comparison to component

  • Hahahahahaha, might want to zoom in next time LOL

  • Im not saying that composite is better then component but i noticed when they compare em they blur the composite i have them both paused in different windows. :\

  • FAIL. yea i can really tell the difference on a low encoded 480p video.
