I don't really know where the Paramore comparison comes from. For starters, VersaEmerge put me more in mind of bands like Elliot Minor etc. Their songs are also a hell of a lot more complicated than anything I've ever heard by Paramore, musically. The only thing these bands have in common is the female vocalist. Like a few other people have said, female front-women aren't a new thing.
