  • Very good practial advice.

  • You don't by default get a chicken wing by not releasing horizontally (open to closed - roll over release), you can release perfectly ok with a vertical or angleled one as well. You can even have the clubhead perfectly square to the club shaft path all through the swing without problems if it suits you. It's all a matter of teaching your hands and wrists.

  • @TheRealOzzie234 I know there a many types of releases that are acceptable, vertical, angled. This is primarily for the flailers and scoopers that if they learn to rotate there forearms square to the circle, they will creat a more efficient impact position. Even when a good player feels like they don't rotate the face or hold it off, they really do. Video doesn't lie. Great comment and thanks for viewing my vid

  • Great job

  • Yes, your tennis racket is a perfect analogy. But why do you want go so much from open to closed in your swing then? A pro tennis player would be VERY MUCH MORE shut in his "back swing" with the racket and also wouldn't turn over as much in the follow through.......

  • @TheRealOzzie234 tennis players are shut in their backswing to ensure topspin. most golfers do exactly the opposite and try to hold the face open through the ball and end up with an incorrect release (chicken wing). trying this tennis stroke is a great way of feeling the proper release in golf even if it is a little more exaggerated.

  • Great drills for an important part of a consistent golf swing. Thanks!

  • thanks, this helps....cant wait to try it out!
