I saw Hendrix live at the Memorial Coliseum in Portland, 1968. And later, I saw the Hansen band. IMHO, the Hansen band plays Hendrix better than Hendrix. I noticed on your site you have an Oregon City gig coming up soon. I just might be there (grin).
@ufowalter Hey! Thanks for commenting back, I didn't realize you're one the band members. Awesome playing man, you guys sound great! Where can one find the DVD's? And how did the show in Yakima, WA at the Seasons go??? What was on the set list - if you don't mind me asking. :) Man I really wish I would have known about that show!
Randy Hansen....totally authentic as usual. Whoever said this is a taped playback doesn't know a damn thing about playing a guitar. Anyone know which Marshall head model Randy is playing through here? Looks like a JCM 800, but I can't really tell.
@ufowalter When did Randy switch over from the 1959 SLP Plexi Marshall? The videos from the Seattle show I think he was still using them with a Marshall Power Soak and 8x12 cabinets. Seems he's got a killer Hendrix sound no matter what he plays through. I can play a lot of Hendrix stuff through my Vintage Modern Marshall and Plexi as well. Randy is the master though. As they say, he's got me beat by a country mile with how much Hendrix he knows. I love watching these videos.
Great!!!!awsome!!!!fantastic!!!!this is the better band I never saw played Hendrix!!!!and this is not playback bullshit it's really a "live" performance!!!
@jbmaillet Dude, I was shocked to read your comment since I'm a fan of Randy, & watched that segment over & over & over. At first I thought that segment (from 3.39-3:48) was out of sync - but no. Instead, he really plays the notes, moves the hand down the frets (w/out strumming, which he often does), but it's hard to see & the left hand is momentarily concealed by the right. You have to watch carefully, but no, it's really not playback! (There are also other things that speak against playback.)
@ufowalter But I don't even see where it's out of sync! I only *thought* a part of it was after I read a comment. It's a fantastic piece of the show, amazing palying, and the camerawork is quite OK.
Great stuff, funny i didn't realise Hendrix had a brother, i thought you guys we're on a wind up, so after playing this i had to google my curiosity, and fuck me its true!, send him the link to my vids!..lol
He plays better behind his back than most do in front!

yeah - that´s right - the JCM 800 is the europe rig,
It always stays here, when Randy goes back to Seattle.
I love the Plexi....

I *really* enjoyed it. Until 3 minutes and 45 seconds.
Then I understood that was pure playback bullshit.
So sad.

@Soolehca yeah - some parts are out of sync - i realized it too late.
It´s a very improvised production and everybody, like the camera men and the cutter worked for free,
but they made a great job and we are happy to have the show recorded , so what ;
