  • still DON'T get it HELP

  • I have 2 loops what am i doing wrong?

  • thanks so much!!!

  • This was very helpful. Thank you! I was taught the knit stitch, but I was never shown the purl stitch. :) I have the hang of it now. Thanks again for posting this.

  • it sounds like theres a cat purring in the background!

  • I don't understand how to "catch" the loop. I'm following how you do it, and thought I got it, but it just drops the stitch.

  • I dont understand!

  • @12345iheartvampires

same here, purling is hard :/

  • @12345iheartvampires Hmmm...practice practice practice!

  • Do you have any videos of how to K1 and P1??? Or any other videos lol

  • @Realityis1 Yep, just visit my channel and you'll see more knitting videos there.

  • I agree with TAYTAYS101 comment -- I too watched countless videos on how to purl and when I watched yours, all of a sudden everything made sense. Before I was not catching the loop and removing the old one.. instead I was leaving everything on!! lol THANK YOU for this wonderful video!!!

  • I was just yelling and swearing at myself in my living room, trying to teach myself the purl stitch (and I started knitting to de-stress). I watched dozens of other videos and just wasn't able to get the hang of it. Everyone just said "then push the stitch towards the back." What does that even mean??? I was beyond frustrated. Then I discovered this video! Just made sense. Thank you so much.

  • @taytays101 I love this comment!

  • i had to watch a professional instructional video over a hundred times before i could even do the knit stich but by the end of this video i was doing the purl stitch just as easily as you are in the video! thanks for making such a comprehensive video. :)

  • Thank you for such a nice, clear demonstration! i needed a refresher and this video helped me sooo much! xx

  • thanks, this was really helpful.

  • I've not been knitting for very long and I never could get the hang of the purl stitch. This video helped me get it though! Very good tutorial!

  • Thank you SO much, learned to purl stitch in the record of 6 seconds. Thank you so much!

  • @coolsteven2 Six seconds!? That must be a record!

  • I MADE my first knit item!! A simple washcloth, with a few holes notheless (Just learnt the knit stitch :P) but I'm SO HAPPY! Now I'm gonna try something more difficult with the help of your vids :D

  • GREAT video! thankyou so much!

  • 7 years, this took me...I FINALLY HAVE IT!

  • @4EvaRoses 7 years O_O. Woah. Good job!!! I hope i get it faster T_T.

  • Thank you! This was a great video. You made it simple and easy to follow. Really appreciate it!

  • I have searched for so many how to purl videos, and it never clicked untill I saw yours :) thanks so much!!

  • Good video, nice and slow, found the loop in the end, kept getting the wrong loop!

  • Catching the loop is a little tricky...

  • this is the greatest knitting video ever! You don't know how grateful I am to you :F

  • Your left thumb looks cool!(:

  • @TheAlejandraaaa Erm...thanks?

  • Thanks you so much! You were extremely clear, and moved your needles so slowly; it actually gave me a really chance to see what was going on! Thank you!

  • Thank you so much! I can now purl thanks to this video!

  • Can you knit a butterfly If is yes Can you make a tutorial?

  • Can you go to the back and stitch it there? You are doing it in the front, but will it still be the same shape and size?

  • @Mubarak635 If you purl through the other loop, it's referred to as 'purling through the back loop' or 'pbl' for short. It results in a twisted stitch. I did a video on knitting and purling through the back loop.

  • Thanks! No doubt I'll be back for advice later...........

  • Thank you so much. none of the other videos showed what to catch.

  • LOL i think you went a little too fast

  • Thank you for this easy to follow video! I have been goin crazy the last 2 nights trying to figure out the purl stitch and this is the only video I found that made it soo easy!!!

  • Ah... So satisfied... Can finally knit purl. your video was the best, and will always be the best one out there! Thankyou soooo much! :)

  • Best Knit Purl video. Illustrates slowly each movement. Thank you.

  • i can't do this, the right hand needles always become tight.

  • Thank you so much! I've been looking for videos on how to Purl, and this is the only one that really helped. :D

  • Thanks so much all of you videos are easy to understand ad follow thanks heaps!

You needles are really pointy. :p

  • thank u

  • thanx for the help! your hands are so graceful, this is way more informative than reading a book about knitting

  • thank you so much. i've been watching so many videos on how to do the purl stitch and this one has really helped me. it took me a while, but knowing which stitch i needed to catch really helped me a lot.

  • This is the only "how to purl" video that shows what's going on IN BACK as you're pulling the needle through after wrapping the yarn around. THANK YOU for taking the time to show and explain the catching of the little loop in back before slipping the stitch off the needle!

  • only video i could understand. thank you so much!!!!!!!

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

    :D

  • SOO SOO helpful <3 Thanks a lot!

  • merci

  • The only thing I found missing here was help with my problem with the FIRST purl stitch of each row. But I solved it: I figured out that the key is to make sure the yarn is on top of the right needle, as explained in elsteffo's "Changing Between Knit and Purl Stitches" (xc1nolkBY8A) or as emphasized in another purling video (MAMD_XpybQY). This concept applies to starting a purl row, not just to switching from knit to purl.

  • thank you SO much! keep your great videos coming!

  • I was madly in hate with the purl stitch until I saw your video, thank you!! I was actually searching for videos on how to avoid it. finished a long scarf that was knitting the whole way so got kinda spoiled.

  • I did the same exact thing!! I just finished a long scarf that was only knitting. And I wanted to do a different design so I thought I should learn the purl stitch! this video helped me out sooo much. I watched other videos about the purl stitch and I still did not get it until now. Thank You soooo much.

  • OMG!! me too! i just figured it out! and i was like,"this woman is genius!" Wow, i can't believe i just figured it out. I even bought a book to help me, but that didnt help me one bit!! Thank You Thank YOu THANK YOU!!!!

  • Great video, this helped me get the hang of the purl stitch with no problems! Thank you for posting this!

  • helpful thank you!

  • Very clear and easy to follow, even though I'm left handed. Thanks!

  • Thank you thank you thank you
