Why kill the defender? theres no point. just stack so it doesn't pounce and the damage is definitely not and issue with decent healers. saves you a lot of movement issues without having to deal with void zones.

Thats way more complicated than it needs to be. Plus, killing the feral defender makes it twice as complicated, just have the raid heals heal through it and there will be no void zones and only 1 cat

First of all, this strat seems outdated. Someone should make a new one or link to the better version where you stack in the corner.

Indeed, don't kill the cat on purpose. Typically AOE dmg will kill it anyways. So it is something an OT will need to taunt and pull away at some point. Call it a "bug" or what have you, but the darn cat when taunted doesn't always work perfect. So if a void falls your raid needs to have a 2nd location to move to and stack once again.

@jordachep Sure. But they aren't going to redo the video every 3 weeks because someone found another way. This strategy worked with this group in this circumstance.

My guild will tank her on the other side of the walkway, and we completely ignore feral defenders. Plus we'll usually pull with an icetrap or the warlock will use his imp. There's lots of ways to do it, and this video shows one of them. THere's no need to change it. WHy don't you make a video of the fight if you want to help?

@jordachep stacking in the corner next to the stairs is the pug method to get everyone to stack properly. It's better to tank her roughly in the middle of the circle though. That way there's nobody getting feared saying in the corner, on feared up stairs, one feared down ramp and everyone LOS of the heals. Though it doesn't really matter. Don't kill the cat sure, but as long as everyone stacks the location you choose isn't important. Corner is just the way to babysit the baddies in your pug.

pulling is easy.

I asked my guild if I could try something and worked prefectly.

I just launch one fireball and right after it launched I blinktowards the rest ofthe raid.

Works fantastic and all that is required is for the tanks to pick up the adds/boss once they are around the corner

You say it's easy because you blinked out, and let your tanks do the real work. Try being the OT that has to keep her guards from pouncing and wiping the entire raid.

The initial pull is the hardest part of this boss. If you live through the pull, she's a fair fight. Our biggest problem is getting range dps (that's you, mage) and healers to stack up close so that they're INSIDE of pounce range.

what my guild did was we had a hunter (me) misdirect Auriaya to our main tank who was around a corner near the end of a patrol path..and our off tank around another corner.. he tauntedthe 2 adds and we killed them then got back on the boss.. we also just healed through the feral defender... no1 in our raid died and we moved very little.. hope this helps

If by 'white tiger' you mean Feral Defender, then no. Auriaya will only every activate one at a time. It doesn't do much damage against a tank, but the Feral Defender is mostly untankable. It is, however, stunnable, but if you have good healers, ignoring the Defender and the healers topping up the person/people who get pounced is highly feasable.

in 10 - man the white tiger does minimal damage and its best to just avoid hitting it, killing the boss without ever having to deal with the void zone.

in 25- man, however, the damage is significantly more..and the white tiger has to be killed, with the raid relocating each time.

Our strat is (usually) have an OT pull the guardian away with a taunt, stun it and kill it when it gets low, away from the raid. All of our dps will focus on the boss the whole time, only ever switching to the guardian if the tank needs a bit of help downing it in those few seconds.

We found it simpler not to bother with the Cat when it spawns, only to stun it as much as possible so it wouldn't go nuts and then jsut keep all dps on Auriaya

Every melee will lose some DPS from being parried/dodged from the front a little more often, but only ferals actually suffer DPS wise because they need to be behind for shred (rogues don't use positional moves in PvE atm).. but ferals can still do about 80-90% of their full damage by spamming mangle instead of shred, so again its not a big deal.

Thing is on pull use your all cd's on those 2 adds and when u kill adds use BL on boss, also u dont need to move anywhere just be infront of boss and dont kill Defender just let to OT to play with him and thats it! seems taht ulduar is nerfed alot.

Tips for 25man.

If you have a hunter let him/her drop a snaketrap in the boss pullpath (where the DK puts his DnD in the vid) and the defenders will waste their pounce CD on the snakes instead of on you.

When the boss casts fear have a paladin stun the mob just at the end of the castbar and the mob will remain stunned for the duration of the fear.

also only killing 4-5 respawns is enough if you are not going for hardmode.

We found it was much easier and faster to simply ignore the feral defender and just DPS auriaya while healing through the feral defenders dmg with the OT taunting & CCing as much as possible since the feral defender does really weak melee. Should the feral defender get low from add AoE we simply use a stun when its outside the raid and burn it down to avoid a voidzone within the raid. With moderate DPS the feral defender should only die twice from AoE.
