Buckethead is my PERSONAL favorite, but comparing him with Tom Morello is pretty much impossible. Tom really pushes the limits of what kinds of flat-out WEIRD sounds a guitar can make, which is awesome, but Buckethead can play way faster and with more emotion. It really depends on how you define guitar skill.

although i believe them both good, my personal favorite is tom morello.

tom pioneered many different styles of guitar playing previously unheard of. buckethead is almost purely killswitch and tapping. while he IS the best at that it gets boring quickly.

i dont think this truely expressed the best of either side though. the rage songs werent rages best songs in my opinion.

Albums like 'Colma' and Electric Tears' are just two examples of some of the most beautiful songs you'll ever hear. Buckethead is, from both a technical and songwrting standpoinnt, better than TM but a t the end of the day it all comes down to personal preference.

How about this. Buckethead uses a mute during the song Jordan. Tom Morello uses mutes in his songs. The two are the only guitarists that predominately use mutes of that nature. Both guitarists use amp feedback to alter their sound. Jordan was out LONG before Guitar hero. Both are guitar pioneers. Give Brian Carroll a little slack, he is the new Jimi.
