@iCookies6 Hi and thanks for your questions. The lamb and shepherd are symbolic that speak of different aspects of what Jesus has done for us. As a lamb He died for our sins as the Passover lamb that was sacrificed in Old Testament times. Trusting in God to remove our sin because He has taken our sin and made us righteous (acceptable) since the debt for our transgression has been paid is the picture. Jesus being our shepherd comes from the fact that we are like sheep and need a protector.
@iCookies6 The symbols of the lamb and shepherd are not the same since they speak about two different issues. The Lamb died to pay for our sins and the Shepherd has provided for our leadership and protection. If you will read the book of John in the New Testament you will begin to understand what Jesus has done for us. This will not take long and it is interesting reading. Let the Lord speak to you when you read it and He will bless you for having read it. I pray you see that, "Jesus loves you".
@iCookies6 The symbols of the Lamb and the Good Shepherd refer to the different roles that our loving Savior plays on our behalf. When He came here and died on the cruel cross for our sins, He was carrying out His role of being the sacrificial Lamb...He died in our place. Yet just like sheep we need someone to lead, guide and protect us. He maketh us to lie down in green pastures, he leadeth us beside still water. Its figurative language but it just means he cares 4 us.
@iCookies6 So that's we mean by Him being both the Lamb of God and the Good shepherd. He plays both roles in our lives. A similar example is that He is both our mediator (lawyer) and our Judge. Everytime we genuinely confess our sins and repent, he intercedes to the Father on our behalf, because His blood has covered us (his role as the sacrificed lamb comes into play there). But whhen this world will face its end, He will also be the One who will be Judge...
@iCookies He would know those who have accepted his sacrifice on their behalf and grant them their reward. Hope this was able to help u in addition to what bobf72450 said b4. I'm praying for you too....God is no myth iCookies6
This song was definitely inspired by the Holy Spirit to Don Moen. I remember when I used to live in the Kansas City area we once had a District meeting of the SDA Churches and we prepared this song for that ocassion with a choir of about 5o people directed by Mrs. Yara Young. It sounded just like this. Then after that ocassion I heard it every time I drove to KCI airport early in the mornings (4:00-5:00am) for my international business travel. I felt protected and uplifted. Praise be to God!

Hello Christians. I am an atheist & I wanna ask some questions.
1. Is it necessary for Christians to worship a lamb? LoL.
2. If Jesus Christ is the 'Good Shepherd,' why call him a lamb, or more preferably, the 'lamb of God?' Jesus Christ is a lamb and a shepherd too? LoL
I'm just asking, Christ believers. :)

God doesn't exist. Accept it! And there's no such thing as a lamb-person.
