@apsten1 They do its called Battlefield 1943, (console) it uses a few old pacific maps (revised for frostbite) from bf42, and the assault class uses semi auto M1 rifles which own and can also be used in bad company2/vietnam against ppl with modern weapons machine gun

Somebody really should make a full on WW1 game. Imagine all the shells bursting, debris falling into your trench as you walk towards your position. You peak over the edge and look onto the hell known as "No Man's Land." All of a sudden someone yells "GAS ATTACK!" and you quickly pull your mask over your head, limiting your vision to only two eyeholes. The gas pours into the trenches and some of your friends who were too slow don't make it. You look back over the trench, and through the

@treehugger3615 Because WW1 wasnt as interesting, the infantry weapon choice is limited to rifles and SMG's and there arent very many good ways to go with making the game because WW1 was mostly fought in the trenches and actually playing that online wouldnt be that exciting

COD skipped it (WW2, then Vietnam War, the Modern Warfare)

Battlefield skipped it as well (1942, Vietnam, Present time, 2142 & back to Present time again)

NO KOREAN WAR. I felt sorry for all those Korean War veterans.

It isn't like he is lugging around a water cooled Vickers machine gun that requires a tripod and three men to operate.

@MajBlood mg08/18 was irrelevent to my original comment, it is obviously a lighter gun and i wouldnt of posted my origional comment if he obviously wasnt carrying and mg08. anyways the mg08/18 saw less combat than the predecssor mg08/15, as the mg08/18 was not tested until the later months of the war, and only in small numbers.

@battlestations1941 Well, it is somewhat unrealistic. But not totally impossible. Like I said, the M60 is also supposed to be mounted on tripods and fired prone, but it doesn't happen in video games. Some of the coolest weapons of World War I could not be used in games if it mean 100% historical accuracy. For example, the German A7V tank. You see them everywhere in games but only like 10 of them saw battle.

@JAEProductions1 The United States entered the war in 1917, following the sinking of the liner the Lusitania by a German submarine. They entered the war due to large amount of Americans that were killed when the Lusitania was sunk.

Actually the it was the Zimmerman Telegram from Germany to Mexico in 1917. This was intercepted by the British and sent to the Americans. The Lusitania was sunk in May 7'th 1915. The USA declared war on Germany April 6'th 1917. That was 2 years later.

The Lusitania was just a "convenient myth" they fed to the public. At the time nobody mentioned the secret German messages.

The real reason was to end the war faster and protect American investments in BOTH Britain and Germany.

Okay, so I've already see the 3.1 version so I know the game is really good. However I, along with countless others, have been searching for a decent WWI FPS for a while. I don't have 1918 so correct me, please do, if I'm wrong but this game doesn't cut it. In not one video have I seen decent 'WWI' gameplay. I would love to see a game with many more players, though I'm sure it would cause lag so okay, but there is absolutely no essence of real WWI combat. It looks like 1942 with WWI stuff.

@ilovethe1700s it's not compatable with ur comp. Easy fix: right click battlefield 1918 desktop icon--- click on properties all the way at the bottom of the drop down---- click on comparability tab---- click the checkbox that unlocks a drop down menu and select ur platform (ex. Windows vista or windows 7). It should not crash anymore after that
