I went to the abbey when I was there the abbey was a much more liberal institution, that is to say it was not so hardcore catholic, but as the new administration has moved in the school has become more and more closed, to those of different faith and views, sadly that is sad to me

I don't care what your beliefs are, the government should not force someone to do an unnecessary action that they believe is morally impermissible.

If the Catholic Church teaches that contraceptives are morally wrong, then they should abide by these beliefs in their institutions. The employees do not have to work there if they disagree. It is a catholic college--they should expect to abide by catholic teaching.

4:17 The President said hed rather close the college than continue coverage for contraceptives. The Pope, President and the school didnt seem to have a problem selling the land to Wal-Mart for them to sell contraceptives. They had no problem taking that money. I think its fine for the Church to voice their opinion, but not to take away the health care choices of women and their families.

I completely agree with freedom of religion, and so lets hope that the employee's don't choose to access their right to birthcontrol within that religion, BUT, they are not above the laws and must provide the health care that law requires even if they disagree. They can just put a moral reminder beside the policy handbook.

Whether they use them or not the Church should never be forced to offer that option. The employees chose to work there, they were not backed into a corner and forced to sign a contract.
