so tell me, kevin, how do private companies ever compete with a company (government) that has unlimited resources? You cannot compete with that, so unfortunately you end up being run out of business
@oopsie913 Its not that they have unlimited resources, its that the democrats seem to think the gov't can incur unlimited debt...Private companies can't just go to the bank and keep endlessly borrowing money even though they aren't generating sufficient revenues, but these dems led by our current president seem to think the gov't can.
What would actually happen is, we will all have an OPTION. We could choose to stay with competitive healthcare companies, or we can choose to use the gov't option. The result will be stiffer competition among the remaining healthcare providers (yes some will fail), millions more insured Americans, less healthcare costs for small businesses, less sickly uninsured people filling our emergency rooms, and less insurance abuses.
it seems the republicans must make local elections all about obama and his polices. local elections are about local policies not national but if you listen to these retards a republican being elected at a local level is the people being against obama and his policies. pretty damn lame if you ask me. just once i'd like to see a republican come back to reality for a minute...
Reality is, this country is based on principals that go counter to Liberal ideology. Less Government, less taxes, and people take responsibility for their circumstances. Call Republicans what you want, but they do have higher IQ's than democrats...that's a proven fact. Your spin on the election is the same the Democrats did in 1993...guess what happened in 1994. One other thing....are Liberals really Proud to have Nancy Pelosi as their #3 in charge or are they just lying?
lol your hilarious brn2bwild, first off i'm not a liberal. second your statement that republicans have higher iq's is ludicrous is that because they are republicans? people have higher or lower iqs and it has nothing to do with politics. also george bush is a republican and he's as dumb as a box of bricks. third i don't even like pelosi but there are in fact a number of politicians i dislike on both sides of the aisle...
I have the facts to back up my statement..Republicans/Conservatives do have higher IQ's than Democrats/Liberals. Since you don't know George Bush, you can't say with any authority (unless you base all your information on the Liberal press) that George Bush was "dumb". Though I didn't agree with all of his policies, I must say that I do appreciate that there are about 110,000 less bad guys on this planet as a result of his boldness to take on the Muslim radicals who would wish us harm.
george bush had trouble even making a coherent statement it was probably cheney making the real decisions and bush going along with it. i'd love to see what you base this whole iq thing on. what facts do you have slick? let's see em.
btw i don't need the press to form an opinion on bush even when he was first campaigning every fiber of my being told me the man was an idiot. and he proved me right....
Whether you admit it or not, your opinions are influenced by the media. If you own a business like I do, the democrats scare the daylights out of me. As a result, I've placed a freeze on all hiring and overtime until I know how much in taxes I'm going to have to pay/employee. You see they (government) can make taxes retroactive, and the next you thing you know, I'm on the hook for an additional $500K or more. Many of my colleagues feel the same way I do.
Everybody is influenced by the media, (Radio, TV, Print). That is my business, I own a Media Company. How would you know what is going on in DC, if it weren't for the media unless you had access to the halls of Washington DC so you could personally see for yourself.. Therefore we view the events of the day through the lenses of those who produce the information. Unfortunately much of what is put on TV and Print has a very liberal slant.
Of course, we're all influenced by the media. However, I speak 2 other languages (Spanish/Russian) so I see it from other countries perspective and I can tell you they're very confused by what's going on between democrats and republicans.
Faux news In reporting on the November 5 Republican Anti American healthcare rally in which Fox news stated there were at least 20,000 to 45,000 people who were attending when in fact the Washington post reported there were only 10, 000. They showed a blue sunny ski with fall colored leaves as people walked by the camera only to edit the scene with the Sept 12th rally in an attempt to fool the viewers into thinking the rally was much more of a success then it actually was. Shame on faux news.
Let's just say there were only 3 people who showed up for the Nov 5th rally. Who cares. All I know as an employer of 30 people, I will immediately cancel all health benefits and pay the fine to have the government pay for them. Why? Because all of my competitors have stated that they will no longer provide employee benefits and if I don't do the same I will not be able to compete. So guess who loses....you the tax payer. Once again unintended consequences when the government tries to fix it.
And then you save money, private insurance will either be forced to quit or downsize and compete with the government plans. If Private Insurance companies fold that means more jobs taken from their companies and switched to government. Either way, we all save money and our healthcare remains the same.
I believe you need a course in Free Market Economics. Do you actually think health care will improve if the government runs it? Who are they accountable to? Ans: Nobody! The Government can lose money and still stay in business. Guess how? You and I will pay more taxes and they can print more money. If my business had to compete with a government run company, I would immediately shut my doors, take my little nest egg I have saved up go do something else. What you want is called Socialism.
I was under the impressiong that the government was accountable to those of us who vote for them into office. I think whats going on here is that those people who vote really don't know crap about who they are voting for, simply voting party lines and then crying and blaming the other side when things go wrong. The Government can also only spend what is needed. Like our school systems, national parks, post offices etc. If you company can't compete, maybe your doing something wrong.
The government can not be in the business to make a profit. If I run a business to make a profit, how can I compete? If the government is so good at business, then why not nationalize all businesses. Oh that's right, that was already tried and it failed...it was called communism.
FYI: Based on Government efficiency models, we'd still be using DOS 6.0, with 8MB of RAM running a 386 CPU. So you have your choice...Private Business who innovates or Govt run business with out innovation.
Let me guess, your sell health insurance? There shouldn't be profit in someones death or life. Sorry you feel there should. And as far as Socialism is concerned, it has proven to work although even with this reform, we are FAR from it. France, Japan and Australia rated best and the United States worst in new rankings focusing on preventable deaths due to treatable conditions in 19 leading industrialized nations. Give my Government, at least WE have more control.
So, why not Nationalize every aspect of the Medical industry. Pace-Makers, X-Ray Equipment, MRI, Medicine, etc? Where does it stop? There has to be a profit incentive for innovation. No Profit incentive = No innovation. BTW: I am an owner of a Computer Chip Design Company. Every employee has full benefits paid by the company...no co-pay.
Just because the govenment sets standards for one thing doesn't mean they are going to take over the world otherwise every park would be named after some politican, UPS and Fed ex would be limitied as to what shipping packages are are used. When was the last time you saw governement brands to use im public schools? Or what machines are use to maintain public parks to mow the lawns?. .... Pulease.
One more thing....why would I want to work for the Government when my salary is 6.25 times greater than the highest paid civilian employee. There would be no incentive for me to put in 16 to 20 hour days to keep the company successful. Give people an incentive to be successful and they'll succeed.
Keep Government out of Private Industry and the strong get stronger and weak go bankrupt. That's free market economics.
Did you do know that over 50% of the US employed are working for the government? My friend for instance works 4 10 hr days a week, has "full" health benefits (most definatly better then yours) and a retirement plan that is insured unless of course we are taken over by some other country lol. How about you? I'm glad your life is so great that you can look down on those who fall through the cracks. Those who refuse to work or are illegal already have health benefits while those who try, may not.
What?....50% of people work for the Federal Government?...then you go on to say only 6% of the people working have employee covered health insurance? Check your math
Oh....BTW: I don't look down on people who try to make something of themselves...I do not have any sympathy for people who goofed around in school, decided not to go to college and now complain about their circumstances...while all those people were playing I was hitting the books to make something of myself.
... meh... we all know Steele is actually stupid enough to "rap" anti obama smears... but damnit TPM don't put up a false thing like this... it's making stuff up.
The title of this video is despicable. I like TPM, but they got carried away. Steele's gaffes are usually amusing, but there was none here, much less a RAP. If you want to see REAL POLITICAL RAP, check out my channel. I rap the news. TPM seems to be asking him to tapdance, if you know what I mean. Not cool.

First, I think it is important to point out that it is somewhat clever for the Republican Party to tap Michael Steele to be their point man to try to counter Obama for the next 4 to 8 years. The Republicans have a history of race-baiting, so it is important for them to put a Black face on their attacks on Obama's policies.
Second, A lot of us are disappointed with Obama, not because he's too far to the left, but because he isn't delivering FDR style policies. If Obama fails, that will be why.
i think hes more of a centrist leaning to the right...
republicans are just fighting him every step of the way because they don't like a black man fixing the white mans problems. they can sugar coat it any way, but at its roots, that's why in its simplest form. btw, i think were being too critical on Obama..hes not even a year in office ffs...hes testing the waters..weve come a long way from the past 8 bush jr years..
I don't think I said Obama is too far left; I think I rejected that line which the right wing is propagating.
I would have more confidence in Obama if he had actually appointed a "team of rivals" for economic policy, as he promised he would do during the transition. Instead, all we got was a Wall Street insiders' club who are, predictably, ruining the country in order to protect speculative traders on Wall Street.
I think we should dress Steele in some gang colors, give him a knife, set him loose in south central L.A. and let him use some of that "speaking to the people" crap and the take bets on how many blocks this ass clown makes it before he gets his ass killed and bet on how many bullet holes are in his worthless corps!
you really are an idiot! Listen closely to what steele says at the 21 second mark. Hes the one that said Gibbs or Cain might want to RAP the policies to the president... hence the title of the video..
Just the kind of Negro that can make it in Fox, without being patronized by the host, they do it themselves.
I wonder if during rehearsal they get their queue, the have to submitted the answer to the white man for approval Michael Steele, Jessie Lee Peterson, and Juan Willians, the only Negros who command the status of House Negros, Ethernal happy Negros, and Uncle Toms affiliate of America for Fox News.
The repubs are so afraid of Obama. Listen to the threats for 2012. The tea baggers again? When they are interviewed they do not know the reasons they are protesting. Misinformed white trash. I am sure it will be a good laugh. They should be ashamed of themselves. I wish I did not have to work so I could waste peoples time.
I love seeing the RNC headed by someone who takes pride in Glen Beck's 9/12 protest, the teabaggers and the people who disrupted the town halls in August.
Yeah, we got the irrational screamers on our side, go us! LOL
Also note, the irrational screamers put up their own candidate who "pledged his honor to Glen Beck's 9/12 project" and he drove the REPUBLICAN out of the race, allowing the DEMOCRAT to win.
Excellent strategy Steele, well played. Carry on!
PTurchan1, remember every governor election in Va. since Carter was elected in '76 they have elected a candidate of the opposing party of who was president.
you say that, but all I hear are democratic party talking points by someone who clearly sold out to someone already. when you live in a glass house don't go throwing stones. People who throw around house negro at a man who earned what he has are the same kind of people who wear those raatid "stop snitchin" shirts. in case you didn't notice, the democrats are doing what the rpeublicans did a century ago, take black votes for granted, while courting everyone else.
Steele is also there because he is a self made man and a republican. I do think his race played a role in him being chosen, but to get there, and be up for the position that in and of itself didn't have a damn thing to do with him being black. being black you don't have to think or act one way. just because he doesn't fit in with your idea of what black is doesn't mean he is any less of a man.
I say it because your comment is divisivve and ignorant. I know what it means, clearly, I'm inter-racial and I'm calling you out for being ignorant. Call me what you want, I know one thing, if your parents raised you to be anything close to a decent person you wouldn't throw that around so freely. so clearly you lack character. this is evident in your ignorant post here on this video.
I understand the sentiment. The fact that the term refers to a black man with a house is still true. A black man can own a house, even a house in a white neighborhood, and not be "a pawn for white-ruled organization". The USA has been white-ruled for over 200 years; I hope you wouldn't encourage black children to drop out of school.
Actually, Malcolm X left the Nation of Islam in 1964.
The "house negro" term was from a speech he gave in 1965. Specifically, it's from a speech he gave to SNCC workers, in Selma, Alabama, February 4, 1965.
That is just a few days before he was a assassinated (February 21, 1965).

The man is clearly not 'rapping' nor does he 'busts anti-obama rap.'
It's clear that because Mr. Steele is an African-American that TPM thinks it's funny to suggest he's rapping.
Sad, TPM. Very Sad.

you really are an idiot! Listen closely to what steele says at the 21 second mark. Hes the one that said Gibbs or Cain might want to RAP the policies to the president... hence the title of the video..
that was a bad move on steele...
i wish the dude would just go away

'hence' 'dude' All you need now is an 'alas.'
You are twisting his words to justify your own biased views. TPM did it for shock value and video views. It's pretty simple.
StoryBalloon 2 years ago
oh so saying its fine to rap something to a black man is acceptable behavior? and now im twisting steeles words up for my gain....really now? wow..
looking at your channel... the only biased one here is you.
DjWhooCares 2 years ago
It's common lingo used by EVERY color and creed. It just shows your mindset that you think it's racial.
I'd love to know what you consider biased.
Really, now. You have a bunch of your generic non-music music and you whine to me?
btw, those 'biased' movies have me up to 1,126,000+ views. How many views does your crappy music have?
StoryBalloon 2 years ago
just to say one thing i'm sure the word steele was using was wrap not rap but tpm did make a different inference. they should have known better.

This is Michaels Steele saying are we sick master?
Everything he participated came out wrong. Thier wingnut Tea party candidate was rejected.
Now Michael Steele thinks he has anything do with the wins in Virginia and Newjersey.

What a superb house negro.

Pride before the fall. Steele's getting a bit too excited here.

I'm sick of having my money confiscated by the government to invade countries that were never any threat to us so that we can get their oil.

Carry on!

New York's 23rd district, a Rep held district for 100 years, just went Democrat. Guess the Rep's can't even hold their home territory.
sabboth42 2 years ago
But they were successful in Virgina and New Jersey, so you have to give them that.
PTurchan1 2 years ago
Standard mid-term election low voter turnout in NJ and the Dems didn't even like their candidate.
A Republican governor elected in red state Virginia? Shocking and how unusual.
If that's all it takes to get Steele and the Fox/GOP pundits crowing they ain't gonna be much of a threat in the next few elections.
integral 2 years ago
I knew that Virgina normally goes red, but had no idea about NJ. Thanks for informing me.

PTurchan1, remember every governor election in Va. since Carter was elected in '76 they have elected a candidate of the opposing party of who was president.

god forbid a black man buy a house.
bigjstokes 2 years ago 2
you fool, house nigga is a term given to a black person who is a pawn for any white-ruled organization, in this case the republican party
they wanted more black votes, they got a black guy who doesnt like black people as their chairman
simple
WKaliberr 2 years ago
you say that, but all I hear are democratic party talking points by someone who clearly sold out to someone already. when you live in a glass house don't go throwing stones. People who throw around house negro at a man who earned what he has are the same kind of people who wear those raatid "stop snitchin" shirts. in case you didn't notice, the democrats are doing what the rpeublicans did a century ago, take black votes for granted, while courting everyone else.
LeGioNoFZioN 2 years ago
Democrats have the black votes, they didn't need Obama to get them. Steele is there because of his race. He sold out.
WKaliberr 2 years ago 2
Steele is also there because he is a self made man and a republican. I do think his race played a role in him being chosen, but to get there, and be up for the position that in and of itself didn't have a damn thing to do with him being black. being black you don't have to think or act one way. just because he doesn't fit in with your idea of what black is doesn't mean he is any less of a man.
LeGioNoFZioN 2 years ago
I say it because your comment is divisivve and ignorant. I know what it means, clearly, I'm inter-racial and I'm calling you out for being ignorant. Call me what you want, I know one thing, if your parents raised you to be anything close to a decent person you wouldn't throw that around so freely. so clearly you lack character. this is evident in your ignorant post here on this video.
LeGioNoFZioN 2 years ago
I understand the sentiment. The fact that the term refers to a black man with a house is still true. A black man can own a house, even a house in a white neighborhood, and not be "a pawn for white-ruled organization". The USA has been white-ruled for over 200 years; I hope you wouldn't encourage black children to drop out of school.
bigjstokes 2 years ago
"House negro" refers to a term made popular in a speech by El Hajj Malik Shabbaz, Malcolm X.
mavaddat 2 years ago 2
I'm aware it doesn't make it any less ignorant. Malcolm woke up before he was assasinated.
LeGioNoFZioN 2 years ago
Actually, Malcolm X left the Nation of Islam in 1964.
The "house negro" term was from a speech he gave in 1965. Specifically, it's from a speech he gave to SNCC workers, in Selma, Alabama, February 4, 1965.
That is just a few days before he was a assassinated (February 21, 1965).
mavaddat 2 years ago
Thnx for the History lesson :)

I stand corrected, I guess that was spike lee movie propaganda. so Malcolm didn't wake up before he died.
