The envy 15 is probably the top of HP laptops today, and such power in such size and weight (around 2.6 kg) (and style) is really attractive...

I have the envy 15 & a MB pro & as a matter of fact the MB is not match for the HP envy 15 as it's the 2nd most powerful 15' laptop (after alienware m-15x) with (in my case) 8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1333Mhz, 500GB HDD @ 7200rpm, Core i7-820 QM @ 1.73 Ghz (3.02 Ghz in turbo boost mode) + ATi m radeon HD 4830 (= 9800m GT). And for those who defend the CoreQuad @ 2.6, the Corei7 has hyperthreading and far more Cache memory + turbo boost mode. check the benchmarks, i7 is by far the most powerful btween both.

Anyway the MacBook Pro's 2.66 Core i7 is almost on par with the 1.6 i7 on this, and the MacBook Pro runs cool, this I dont think so

actually the Envy has much more power and durability than the HDX, not counting a much better battery. the keyboard does make it look like a macbook pro, but it's way beyond that in power.

no, it is not. the best hdx18 could have a 2.6 GHz quad processor, dont come to me and say that envy is better. ofcourse though it is very slimm and so but the resolution aint 1080p wich they said it would be. its a crappy 700x something. i know ppl who gotn this computer and they went into settings to crank up the resolution when they saw it was on max.

During normaln operations you can't hear fan its so silent laptop but... when you run for example abaqus software 100% proc and 100% ram then... its realy loud laptop :)

normal work -> silence (almost you can't hear fan)

games with 100% processor -> realy loud

PC came out with the first clamshell..........BAM, Mac copied it ever since. PC (Sony) came out with the first chiclet keyboard, BAM..........Mac copied it. So, did MAC copyright the color the measurements or the modern form factor? Burger King's Whopper looks like a Big Mac, but tastes much better. At the end of the day, they are all burger joints, except Apple makes you believe somehow it's own original idea.

And Apple came out with black and white in 2006. 2 simple colors. PC however they have all kinds of colors and plus they add some lighting's on theirs laptop as well.. MAC.... is a simple design and PC's are following it. And it's 2009.. People can at least come out with their own ideas.

I agree, speaking of "own ideas", check out the new Dell super thin Adamo with some crazy ass hinge design at Engadget's website, that's what I call innovative in design. Mac Air is nothing new, Panasonic had something this thin 7 years ago. LG/Prada had first touch screen phone way before the iPhone. So, Apple doesn't have a lot of original ideas, except they can make it really nice. I like Hardees too, but we don't have it here in CA. My fav. is TACO Bell.

haha.. dude.. I'm 22 and bout to graduate bachelors degree in nursing. Mac is not expensive. I went through three 3 PC's. I had an HP which cost me $650. I had a dell that cost me $700. And my last PC was a Sony Vaio that cost me $967.. All those 3 was worth shit to me. Waste of money.. I use my laptop a lot on school work, a lil gaming, and other things. They all failed and gave me problems of freezing and somehow viruses got through with norton. Then I tried Mac and I never had any problem.
