It took just three and a bit minutes out of my sunday afternoon... what a wonderful and pensive interlude .. I guess life is packed to the gills with beautiful unspoken moments.. if we choose to see them as Whitman did x
@SpokenVerse Is this something you do for fun? You have a voice of honey, I would love to hear you read one of my poems. I am new to utube, I just found ur channel and fell in love. Its just beautiful!!! :)
This is an amazing poem. Your readings of Walt Whitman have proved doorways into his poetry for me. Thankyou, I am very grateful. Would love to hear your read more of "Songs of Myself", I did explore the link you provided on another Whitman reading - terrific site - James and Patrick both good readings but your voice entirely different again and adds a richness to the experience of listening and hearing the poem.
i do notice a little slipping in between being the person telling the story and being the person reading the poem. only a little though. lovely reading.
You read in a quiet and decisive manner. I very often respond to your interpretations as if I'd never heard the piece before. You inspire me to search for my own voice when I read aloud. Thanks.
perfect....i never thought my soul could be so touched as by the time i stopped in here and listened your beautiful voice embraced in Whitman 's words...thank you so much for these pleasant moments...

I am not too partial to poetry but free verse. This has touched me profoundly.
Especially now,in this tender moment of my life.
This is a master piece.
and the narrating voice is an absolute pleasure to listen to.
Wherever you are Whitman,I choose to believe every word you have said.

Beautiful Walt. Whenever I feel myself as insane as the world I open Leaves Of Grass at any page and within a couple of lines am well again.

like it. i think "leaves" -- and whitman -- should be dusted off again. he speaks of his troubled times to ours.

All this from a child's simple handful of grass.
Leaves of Grass; even the title rustles the imagination to conjure thought.
