maybe it's just the microphone position, but to me, it's harder to hear the player on the left... This results in the impression that he is playing quieter.

my friends played this for Contemporary Music Festival at JMU last spring in front of Steve Reich HIMSELF. We played a whole assortment of Steve Reich pieces, including the hour long Music For 18 Musicians, which I gladly participated in. They did phenominally and Riech gave them 2 thumbs up. He's a really spectacular character, and I also got his autograph.

You guys did a really good job, though under tempo. 4 stars.

and PS, Steve Reich wears a baseball cap as a yamaka.

Good performance. This is a pretty difficult piece piece to perform.

To heck with performing- this piece is diffucult to memorize! I did this for my senior recital and it is taxing on the brain! It is hard to perform also, but memorizing it is like doing the most complex math problem in your head.

I guess I didn't have that problem when I did it. I can see what you mean though. Counting the repetitions can get nasty... especially for 'marimba 2'.

good job guys. tempo was a little under but overall decent performance. one thing that might help any performance whether it be solo or any musical sitatuation is breathing. if you breath together you will play together. good video though 4 stars for sure.
