what a stupid comment ! Baldini would have won the marathon by miles, even if the incident was never happened .

When Da Lima got push by that prick, Baldini had reduced his disavantage only to 22 secs , if you check the video, and he had just started to produce his famous tremendous finish with 7 km left ...! So no way, Baldini is the one & true gold of Athens 2004 : those years he was the strongest marathon man of the world .

Da Lima would have never beated Baldini , that's the truth .

For a little time I didn't like Baldini because he was the winner in Athens, and I'm Brazilian, I thought that Vanderlei de Lima should win that race. But this is another story. I learned to like Baldini because he's a great runner, and he showed this in many other races. So, when Marilson Gomes dos Santos won this NYC Marathon in 2006 (and again in 2008), I knew that he was faster than big names like Baldini, Tergat etc. You can see Marilson behind Tergat. He is wearing an yellow t-shirt.
