Anyway, the 3rd period of game 7 was exactly that - one long continuous puck possession by Detroit.

The third period was a 20 minute heart-attack for Pens fans right up to Fleury's last-gasp save at the final horn, which was desperately lucky, as was the ringer off the top bar earlier.

The entire 3rd period looked like one long extended powerplay for Detroit, as they had possession of the puck continuously.  They had way more than 3 shots on Fleury.

I STILL can't believe that Detroit didn't score to tie - and I'm a Pens fan.

Well Kunitz should have been awarded a goal last night (the league has already said this) because it was interference on the empty net. So yet another call we didn't get while Detroit fans are complaining about to many men we have many more calls that went unnoticed.

EXACTLY! A lot of people keep talking about it and we didn't even score on the damn shift!! Unlike, the first 2 goals Det scored in game 2 on non calls seconds before the goals were scored. Also in game 1 & 2 the covering of the puck in the crease that weren't called for penalty shots. Mr. "interference" Datsyuk hasn't played yet and it's a good thing too cuz it seems the league prohibits him from getting called for interference.

Too bad in games 1 and 2 Zetterberg got away with freezing the puck. Pens got gyped out of 2 penatly shots. Hossa got away with slashing Dupuis and breaking his stick in G2 which resulted in a goal. Don't play the ref bullshit. The Wings got away with a ton in the first 2.

refs are either getting paid off or they are idiots because at one point in the game the pens had 6 men on the ice for 25 seconds. Also the whole NHL directors and shit obviously want the pens 2 win and if u have ever played NHL 09 Crosby has a 96 overall rating! Malkin and Ovechkin are better than him in real life, yet in the game they have lower overall rating than Crosby. The NHL definitely has something to do with this because they probably wanted Crosby to be good since hes the poster boy

Yes, if Pens would have been called for it all the momentum would have shifted towards the Red Wings and if they would have scored on the PP that game would have been over. The ratings for these past Cup Final games are way through the roof so I think the refs wanted to keep the game even to drag the series out and get more better ratings. Hockey needs all the rating it can get, sad that it's my favorite sport and it still doesn't get the recognition it deserves.

Yeah, as soon as I saw Ericsson do that I knew a penalty was coming. Maybe Lidstrom could get away with that, but not a young guy like Ericsson. I'm not one to blame the refs though (except, of course, that game 3 in Anaheim!), so let's just hope the Red Wings can take game 4. Pittsburgh played pretty well though, should be a close one...
