  • Damn! This gotta be the sweetest thing ive ever heard.

  • dave matthews and tim reynolds should make some albums as a duo

  • Nice video, keep it up. Watch for BRANDON JAROD new music, OCT. release. Awesome!

  • The best version of this song is at radio city

  • He misses her so bad.. I can feel it.. Lovers you Dave and Tim!

  • @stephaniearnovick this song was actually written in response to a lawsuit from a former friend who said dave couldn't write songs without him and he wasn't getting credit, or payment, when it was deserved. I would say dave proved him very very wrong.

  • love love love this song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Que temazo este eh.. Dupla cosmica, las guitarras suenan como si fueran 10 en el escenario (en este tema y en muchos otros). Saludos desde Argentina

  • Yes sir, when Dave and Tim play it just... well soothes my soul. Thank You very much, so much.

  • where can i download this version of 41? can someone give me a link?

  • @royskie82

#41 is from their album "Crash" which you can get from any typical store that sells CDs, unless you want to torrent it.

  • @pastyourhorizon

i mean this exact acoustic version. thanks anyways.

  • @royskie82 hey, if u want this EXACT version, like the way u hear this, with Tims intro, that lead he does at 00:20. go to zamzar.com nd then it'll ask you for the url. put it in, then next to it it'll ask you what you want it as nd just put Mp3, then it'll ask you for your e-mail, nd it'll convert it. go to your email and when it gets there, open the e-mail, and you'll see a link for the download, which will take you back to zamzar.com, then it'll say download to: just put itunes and presto.

  • what album this belongs? how can i have a copy? any links guys.. =)

  • Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds - Live at Radio City 2007

  • Best damn song ever!

  • DAMN THIS SONG SO MANY MEMORIES!

  • @Manny864597 i would say dmbtabs.com but im not sure if they have them. its worth a try though since they have the official tabs.

  • @Manny864597 transcribe yourself, would be my best bet.

  • CAN ANYONE PLEASE TELL ME WHERE I CAN GET THE TABS TO TIM REYNOLDS PART ON THE GUITAR???!?!?!???!?!?

  • What I love best about this performance is that Dave is taller than him while sitting down haha

  • Enjoy

  • easily one of the greatest songs in the DMB library.

  • one of the best songs in the world

  • @XequeAli absofuckinlutly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @XequeAli 41thumbs up! Keep it that way. :)

  • one of my favourites - no matter what is happening in my life... always seems to make my soul overflow with joy... just love it.. hope, pain, and the true essence of love, devotion and life...

  • Daves music just puts you on another level mentally. When I hear his music, whatever problems I am having seem to just leave. It is so relaxing and chill.

  • GOOSEBUMPS! right off the bat, nuts

  • Good god this song is amazing, the melody, the music, the lyrics, this whole song is just musical genius :)

  • One of my favorite songs of all time. No repeating lyrics and an amazingly deep look into the thoughts of the thoughtful mind and how we interact with each other in this crazy world in both joyous and saddening ways. Thank you Dave!

  • son dos animales!!!

  • dmb's best song..by far

  • How do you look like a jackass on blogs. News flash no one can see you. LOL. Anyways this song is great but its perfect with his band.

  • this song puts me in the chillest mood.

  • Anyone know what show this is from?

  • @MattRichmanMagic Its from Live at Luther College I believe.

  • @lfwake2wake you know where to get it?

  • This is the song I play on my cock before I close my eyes at night..........B

  • This is the song I play on my skin flute before I close my eyes at night..........B

  • this is the song i play on my guitar before i close my eyes at night........B

  • theres nothing wrong with smoking a little dope..."my choice is what i choose to do and if I'm causing no harm it shouldn't bother you" ....quote ben harper

  • Yes smoking affects shit. But honestly who cares?

Dave has said in many interviews that he has given it up for some time now. Who knows whether he's telling the truth? I personally don't care. Dave is still awesome.

  • Simply put, amazing.

  • Best song EVER. Period.

  • @focus2aus I'm just happy dave wrote his songs and we all get to enjoy them. Dave is renowned for his live performances so he must be doing something right. If you think Dave is disrespectful (he openly admits to smoking pot so its not like he's even lying about it) then you don't have to listen to him/go to his concerts. BUT please don't criticize someone for smoking some plants and sounding good.

  • A. MA. ZING. :-)

  • Comment removed

  • perfection.....i can play dave's part on my guitar, but, i gave up on tim's lead.....hahahha.......happy weekend and love......B

  • God, I love this song. Between Dave and Tim, it's just an amazing piece of music. The lyrics are simple and powerful... Dave Matthews is simply the most underrated song writers of all time.

  • dave is awesome!!!! i have seen him many times!!! allways a goood

time! not only a great artist but a really good guy-been around at a few farmaid concerts with him--

    he's cool.

  • kinda funny the way his foot moves during the song. haha

  • when i imagine what my orgasm tastes like and convert it to sound.....this music is this product...I'm coming waltzing back and

    Moving into your head ;D

  • that has to be a top 10 nominee youtube.

  • focus2, as a consumer, you hear something like that,... do you care if he just smoked a bone? the man is a performer... every time he touches the stage. never heard anybody ever say they didnt get their money's worth. enjoy!

  • exactly. for some it helps enhance there playing too, by allowing them to "relax" and feel the rhythm. I don't care what a musician does to prepare for a show..smoke, pray, yoga, nothing at all....when they deliver like this you get your monies worth and more.

  • plus getting "high" in my mind hightens your imagination and and senses so would almost make him more enjoyable to listen to! lol so whats with the whining

  • Dave and Tim FTW! Amazing Duo on every single song they do together.

  • how is that so? every performance is jaw dropping. Besides the whole 60's rock years everyone was mangled and not just from a joint or two. You should tell that to Led Zepplin or Pink Floyd. i mean are you his manager or mother?

  • whenever he talks about smoking or being high in his songs the crowd cheers, so i dont think they mind

plus have u listened to his live songs? they are amazing, listening to dave high helps you focus and catch every intricate part of the song, so i wonder how dave feels if he is high and playing?

have you ever smoked before? cause u would know that being high doesnt affect your abillity to do anything

  • @41sticky Being high, almost by definition, affects one's abilities. Psychotropic agents, you know... do that. :-)

  • yes by definition it effects your conciousness or "psychotropic agents" but i feel like its all a mind set, cause if you want to get something done, you will get it done, if you want to be lazy, by god you will be lazy hahah

  • it affects your ability to do EVERYTHING lol that was the dumbest comment i think ive ever heard almost parallel to cancer doesnt hurt anybody

  • do u smoke? idk if your an idiot, ppl smoke before tests all the time to do better, so that affects them negatively? weed makes everything better, the only thing it affects is your short term memory

  • @41sticky yea weed makes everything better... and you just made everyone dumber for putting something stupid like that up to read.

  • @brintonf see next time if you want to speak, use more words and actualy make atleast some what of an attempt to put reasoning behind it, cause now you just look like a jackass

  • Fantastic version of the song. The best acoustic version I've found on youtube.

I love DM pretending to be drunk while drinking tea :) LOL

  • i love dave but.....tim is a wicked guitar player

  • Can somebody tell me the date of this show please?

  • i LOVE THIS SONG. seriously, the lyrics, guitars, voice, it all gives me goose bumps. AMAZING

  • @SpicyLatina4ya Every song he has does that to me. His talent is awe inspiring. I wish he would take a couple of the songs I have written and put them to music.

  • anything that dave and timmy plays always makes the hair's stick up...every time

  • @80tasos which hairs? hyuk hyuk

  • so perfectly put.. that's exactly what I was trying to say. I'm I huge fan of Dave, I'm perfectly aware of the fact that he's a smoker and a drinker. I was only saying what you said, that in this case he's sober.

  • That is Dave's Style. He is engrossed into his music and gives it his all. He is passionate about his shows and very focused.

    Ii agree with h00dsy's comments

  • pure soul

  • Why do people always think he's stoned or drunk.. what gives people that idea. 100% guaranteed he's bone sober. No human, famous or not, can play an intimate show like that under the influence of anything.

  • B.S.

  • alright sure they can play fucked up.. but it'll sound like shit. Why would Dave smoke a fatty before getting on stage with Timmy, what is he 15 years old?

  • You're theory is only an adolescent would use a drug before they had to perform/work. There are plenty of people that are functional alcoholics or drug users. People can have a drink or smoke a bowl and it's just as natural to them as someone having a cup of coffee. You would never be able to tell the difference. You can't guarantee a thing.

  • That's just Dave Matthews way of been

  • ahhh... there's nothing like having a few and playing a killer show! if you dig this video, check out our stuff. What a great video, Tim plays the shit out of that guitar all the time.

  • micheal jackson and dave matthews r my favourites

  • hahaha dave is so fucked up in this video. i love him

  • like...why is this sooooo good...lol

  • one of the most beautifully written songs ever! (tear drop) just simply beautiful.

  • what are ya, gay?

  • I loveeeeee loveeee loveeee this song, so beautiful

  • man, I remember these good olde days, when Dave ws at his best, anotherwords, DAVE, Please don't do your thing for T.V. and what the pay, do it for you and us!!!!

  • This song makes me cry it's so beautiful. Thank you, Dave, I love you.

  • I love Dave's songs, but I do like his jokes, as well!

  • Inspiring :)

  • i love this song, but it fails in comparison to the version at radio city, and my all time favorite with victor wooten chicago 98. if you are a dmb fan check those two out. and wait for wooten's solo on chicago.

  • no doubt the radio city ones amaaaazing

  • you can't get there from here,,,practice my friends

  • Watch Dave's face. That's hilarious. Check out the faces that all of the greats make; especially John Mayer.

  • I dont see that here...

  • there is nothing to be seen...

  • I love this song but roy did not like it RIP Roy

  • now thats jammin

  • great version .. the greatest song by Dave!!!

  • its not luther college

the songs #41 because its the 41st song he wrote

A song like this doesnt need a title its perfect the way it is

  • i think this was at Luther college.......if i am wrong, hit me up.....peace......B

  • I don't think it's at Luther College. Tim doesn't play that riff at the beginning at Luther College.

  • I was referring to the show at Luther College that they made the two disc cd at so it could be from after that...

  • they did do 41 together at Luther College, however this is not the same occasion. If you DL the Live at Luther Colleger version it is definitly a great choice

  • VH1 soul sesions.. Not Luther

  • where was this?

  • what a beautiful rendition of this amazing song .

  • it shocks me that he's never fallen off that chair

  • They are very talented guitar players. I wish I could jam saxophone with the band for one day.

  • Dave you give me hope that i will love again. Because this is the song that I use to listen at work and think about well now she is my ex-finance.

    Thanks

  • On his Double CD " Live at Luther College", " 41 " is played with Tim Reynolds, and is a SPECTACULAR version of the song. WAY better than this Version. I just about cried the first time I heard this song on the Luther College CD. TOO beautiful to be named "41 ".

  • Actually I think #41 is a very unusual, great name for this beautiful tune. This song has gotten just too many different, various emotions and feelings. Any 'word' for a title would restrict the unlimited openness of this song to a certin way. #41 is just a perfection as it is.

  • unreal.

  • i know. i mean, seriously, are you kidding me.

I wish i was in the front row for that.

  • awesome to see popular music played without pick (reynolds)

  • tim reynolds was in boston at fenway...

  • does anyone know,is tim reynolds on this current tour w/dave mathews?

  • yep

  • i play dave's part on my guitar every night before i go to sleep.....great performance here with tim.....peace.....B

  • dave's songwriting is perfect

  • TONIGHT IN PHX BIATCHES!!!!!!!!!!

  • Is that guitar really big or is tim reynolds really short?

  • He is very tiny

  • no, he's playing a D-1 which is bigger than Dave's 000 style acoustic. but he's prob smallish too.

  • Its a D-35

  • Both. He's playing a bigger instrument, but he is a very short as well.

  • dave and tim-#41 at radio city is the best version of this song.

  • have to disagree, I prefer it from luther college or the lost acoustics. Radio city is nasty though.

  • Probably one of the best songs ever
