This is sooo beautiful! My great aunt just passed away Literally her funeral was saturday(yesterday 6/18/2011---you could totally tell the cherokee in her even as I glanced&watched over her@the funeral home.. I wished I'd found this sooner, I did the cd for her funeral. This comforts me..thanks for posting...
Cherokee is beautiful, almost as beautiful as Irish! The song, however, transcends any language. I've heard it in Gaelic, Korean, Mandarin, French and Zulu. I remember what I learned in Sunday School. "Red and yellow black and white, we are precious in His sight. Jesus loves the little children-even old ones like me. Come to Him as a child-He will not turn you away.
I am cherokee and i am so thank for for our people songs and thank full that the rest of the world know how peacefull we as indians realy are thank you so much for the songs and vidos its a blessing from skyfather
Thank you so much..............it brings me so much closer to my heritage, the imagery and the music is so beautiful. I thank you for the pleasure of it all.
Found this on the Web: Amazing Grace (Amazingly BEAUTIFUL) Translation of Cherokee version into English God's son paid for us then to heaven He went after paying for us. But He said, When He rose, "I'll come again" He said when He spoke. All the earth will end when He comes. All will see him All over the earth. All the good people living He will come after. Heaven always, in peace they will live.
Osiyo friends, listen with your hearts and you will hear the beauty of all things in this Native music. It will touch your heart, soul and spirit and you will feel a sence of oneness with the Creator and,Mother Earth . Nothing can be better than that.
greetings my native brother. I am Kirati, native of the Himalayas.

I think all the native of the world must realize their original identity and revive their ancient culture and religion. Today Mother Nature is angry and Mother Earth is dying all attributed to western civilization, globalization and greedy corporation.
Thank you for this. I am Navajo, part Cherokee from a past time. The spirit is still within me and has been for the last 66years. One day I will return home.
Native Americans are one of the most fascinating races on Earth. There natural spirituality is expressed perfectly in this beautiful song. ~ English lady ~
I am a Cherokee from North Eastern Oklahoma. I have heard this song many times in church, on a CD, and my cousins singing. This song is beautiful as are Native American people. Being Cherokee means alot to me, because I've grown up on the creeks and in the hills of Oklahoma my Cherokee father is wise he's taguht me many things that his father taught him. My Grandfather passed away only 3 days after I recieved my acceptance letter. His spirit will forever be with me. :'(
32Mallery I have loved this song since I was a kid but this is the nicest version I have ever heard. I also commented on the song Wounded knee by Walela and got flamed by someone who claimed to be a full Cherokee who also said that the girls of Walela were not Cherokee. I believe Ritas father is full Cherokee and her mother is half and to my mind she can claim to be Cherokee. This guy had nothing nice to say about the girls nor me for aplauding them. I dont understand his hate for them.
i love this song ... i'm so proud to be Cherokee...... Yigaquv osaniyu adanvto adad naqvv utlogasdi nihi ....... means "May the Great Spirits Blessings always be with you"
Hi Queenofallthegothics I have loved this hymn all my life but I am really happy to hear it in Tsalagi. I only wish I could speak the language but
I am also happy to hear the bagpipes in the song
as I am from Scotland. My dearest wish would of course be to find out I had some Cherokee blood in me. I have loved the American Indian people since I was a kid. I have many close friends up in Canada who are Cree and Ojibway and I think of them as my brothers. Peace and love to you.
All you need is an native heart to be a native..Then you know everything you epxerience you will feel like you heard this before:) It is just there, pure and simple..
wow that was super fab i just loved that there is 2 real cherokee indian guys comingto visit my uncle jim in ireland very soon this is fab 5 stars hugs wee deborah sha sha xoxo ireland xo
This is beautiful. I gew up knowing I was Indian, but never that it was Cherokee, until I was in my twenties. My ancestors were on the trail of tears. I really wish I could find more Christian songs in Indigineous languages (I'm Catholic, I really wish we had a Cherokee mass)

Yeah. Given all of the suffering that resulted in the Removal, it's a fitting and well adapted anthem. Provides strength, unity, a sense of deliverence from the ills.
I have this song on my MP3 Player! This is the song that my family and I sing in church and it the only one I know how to sing in cherokee! I love this song!!
The sun also rises each day, but each day is unique and has meaning. Each day it is the same sun, but each day it is different, and so it goes with this song and its many versions.
Thanks to my dear friend for sharing this beautiful song with me!!

A little trouble with this one as we would not sing a Christian song by choice. Any song would be to the Mother.
