@22LowLife22 hahaahahah ok mate...you got me...it aint a fact...but i just LOVE LIZZY...and never never liked Segar....how is that? Its an opinon like an asshole every ones got one mate
I always wanted children and Rosalie was one of the names I had chosen....if I couldve had children. It might seem corny but its because of this song. And yes I know its a Bob Seger song. Hes an Amerikan legend. Love Lizzy too. Im never tired of hearing 'em. ♥
@85ihateposeurs -- True; but what a great filler it is. They tuned up the song by 370% and made it totally their own. If you compare it with the original version, which is performed at a snail's speed, you'll get my point.
Thin Lizzy is my favourite band (with The Clash and a japanese band called monobright).Everything that I have to say, they said for me. Great song. Only it!!!
@RotherhamAdam101 It was written about our little old radio station in Windsor Ontario Canada. Ms Trombley was program directer at CKLW the Big 8(AM 800) that was able to broadcast in 4 provinces and 20 odd american states. It was a trendsetter before music shattered into a hundreds of subgenres. That station had one powerful antenae and at night could be heard in Scandinavia
to muovibussi that song rock n roll damnation came after this song and bob seger did this song in 1973 followed by thin lizzy in 1975, however rock n roll damnation was released 1978
as for being a "work" of thin lizzy, it was written by bob seger about a gal that used to work in a famous AM radio staion in Windsor/Detroit CKLW back in the late 60s early 70s
Well, Thin Lizzy came before Kiss. Everyone in the 70's tried to mimic the dual lead guitars that Lizzy "created" (i.e. Kiss, Boston, etc.). So it is no wonder that Kiss sounds like Thin Lizzy when their style is basically a replica (and a bad one, in my opinion) of what Thin Lizzy started.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
KISS began in 1973, they also are not a dual lead guitar band. Don't put KISS in the same sentence with Thin Lizzy, KISS is a different band with a lot more hits and more Gold Albums than any other rock band ever.
Boston wasn't a dual lead band, either, but Tom Scholz doubled his guitar sound to emulate it, just like Ace Frehley did.
Also: Thin Lizzy was founded in '69, whereas Kiss was three years later.
I was just trying to make a statement about how influential Thin Lizzy is, despite how little credit people give them. Also, the Beatles themselves had 45 Gold Albums and 24 multi-platinum albums which dwarves Kiss's 23 Gold Albums, so I have no idea where you're getting this "most all-time" stuff from.
lol how could the Beatles have 45 gold albums if they only made 12 studio albums? I never understood that stuff, KISS has 30 studio albums and nearly all of them went Gold. Don't count all the diff "greatest hits compilations" and KISS is way ahead. Ace doubled his guitar sound? Really?
Well, technically the Beatles had only 12 studio releases, but if you count their European releases then they have 27. Still, I'll be fair and give it to you that they only have 12.
I'm not trying to insult Ace by saying what I am, many guitarists doubled when the technology was available, including my favorite guitar player Alex Lifeson. I'm just saying that it was a common thing and Lizzy was maybe the first to do it with Brian Robertson and Scott Gorham.
I learned something new today, Lizzy is an underrated band. Their guitarist I believe it's Scott Gorham, is amazing. Listen to "The Rocker" and the 3 min guitar solo as it gets more and more intense, amazing guitarist.
Yeah there is no doubt that AC/DC were very influenced by Thin Lizzy. I am surprised that they don't credit Lizzy more often with being an influence on them. I just wish Lizzy made more tracks in thsi style while they were in thier prime

The original version of "The rocker" on the studio album was played by guitarist Eric Bell. His style is noticably different from Gorham.

She is a tower, rosalie
