  • and no disrespect to you Debbie but the arabian test pair were just that and never worn during the first two weeks. Another pair sans bows were used during the first two weeks of production under director Richard Thorpe.

  • I love Debbie Reynolds, but I cannot believe she is touching these relics without gloves. So disrespectful and just plain dumb...

  • @yaleboy716 Well, they're her slippers. She can do whatever she wants with it.

  • @yaleboy716 They aren't that fragile. And she is holding them from the bottom. It doesn't really matter.

  • @thewzrdofoz I saw the shoes myself at the preview of the auction in person & YES they were VERY frail, areas of threadbare & were torn in spots. Many of the sequins were missing. NEENER NEENER!

  • @burffle I know they look fragile, and definitely are... I was wrong to say they weren't. But clearly she wasn't worried about them falling apart. They seem pretty stable to hold. I, myself, would feel comfortable holding these shoes without gloves. Like I said, she is holding them from the bottom, nothing happened, done deal, who cares :P

They are, in my opinion, worth just as much as the ruby slippers that were used. These could have potentially been THE ruby slippers!
