I have begun to love construction cranes in 2007 while I was at the car wash in Berkeley. I heard the crane at the adjacent construction site being turned on and I saw it moving towards the car wash. I find these machines to be beautiful pieces of art. It is nice to see a video about how they are assembled.
I am a tower crane operator myself, I run a Pecco. I've climbed them a few times, no doubt in my opinion climbing down is worse on the nerves than climbing upwards, especially when the bolts don't line up and you have to trolley out the test block.
i build tower cranes myself and the difference is climbing up is putting the crane together and climbing down is taking it apart because most cranes can only freestand at 200 some feet. its an adrenaline rush like never before though.
