  • Thanks for the reply. Perhaps i-tunes just loaded it up cause it hasn't been there recently. I have been looking. I also requested it through i-tunes so..... maybe I just got lucky. Thanks again for the info.

  • The singer looks like a guy i know, but the guy I know is like 12

  • Does anyone know where I can find this song and download it?? It's not available through I-tunes. any info would be great! thanks.

  • Its on an album called High Land, Hard Rain. Probably get it off Amazon. The singer is Roddy Frame.

  • thanks for the info. I'm looking for this song so I can download it but if I cant find it I'll buy it on disc at amazon. Thanks again.

  • tHATS WAY 80'S ONE OF MY FAVORITE bAND YEAH! new Wave Lives! Unbeatable Maaaaan!

  • No Aztec camera, no Franz!

  • bloody amazing album!

  • I see you crying and I want to kill your friends - glorious glorious song

  • Wow - this video was so cheesy and odd and so 80's, almost like a high school project for such an awesome song. I imagined the video being about him flirting with someone young like him and all these grouchy old people trying to keep them apart. Check him out now - handsome (even though he lost the eyeliner) and still oh-so talented. Thanks for posting this gem.

  • oh i love this song!!

  • me too! havent heard it in ages! my other fave was all i need is everything

  • Scottish musicians are better than the Englishmen musicians,...........and the Scots are more sentimental.

  • is that right THECLASHmaster1991?

  • Has anyone got Pillar to Post?

  • Roddy Frame, what a talent. Love Aztec Camera, great songs from back in the day!

  • They would have been mega if Roddy Frame had been more handsome, rather than supremely talented.Love to have a wee listen every now and then to remind me of my youth lol

  • I always fancied Roddy anyway! Good times...

  • Just put this album on my IPOD last night. Great song from a gifted musician, and being only 19 at time too. Wow.

  • I did too. High Land, Hard Rain is an amazing album.Coming from a 17 year old

  • saw these guys years and years ago at the hammersmith, then, odeon! support band didn't show so roddy frame came on and did a solo acoustic set to kick it all off.... genius

  • Roddy is the top Scottish songwriter in the last 25 years! Wish he wuold tour again soon!! :-)

  • KILLER 12-string solo!!!

  • a vid. with a positive vibes...........

  • RIP, Sir.Ivor Cutler (1923-2006)

  • Been dancing around my living room all night to this scaring my rabbits, but hell, they know me well enough by now...

I remember buying this oh so many years ago. None of my mates got it. Screw 'em! I love this, stupid pop with bonza lyrics...

  • Ja ja so great!

  • (1981~1995)?

  • Weird, almost creepy. I have never seen this version before. It looks like it was filmed when Roddy lived in New Orleans just before the release of "Knife". Sometime around 1984...

  • former Smiths backup guitarist Craig Gannon is in this video.

  • hahahahahahaha..... jolly good

  • did anyone pay attention top this fucking video? what the hell are they SAYING? thoughts?

  • Great, great track! Reminds me of being 13 and endless unrequited crushes. Agree with Jenjenel the video is silliness on a stick.

  • loves it!

  • funky - love the make up

  • Oh such a fun song. Roddy looks so silly here..good lord

  • I see you crying and I want to kill your friends... God, I wish I could write cool lyrics like that.

  • no joke..its so simple but sill brilliant

  • One of the best new wave bands ever!

  • I've always loved this video and song. Aztec Camera was highly underrated then and now.

  • Make this song available on iTunes, PLEASE!!!

  • lowel..just get the album...high land hard rain...it's packed with classics like this.

  • It just so happens that I did look for the album in record stores and even that's hard to find.

  • musicalglenn is right, there is not one song that isn't good, absolutely no fillers at all. One of the best debut albums in the entire new wave 80's era! Definitely worth tracking down the album on CD!

"They call us lonely when we are really just alone"

Love this line from the song.

  • I totally agree. Back in the day, I remember arguing with a snotty college radio guy. I can now pat my self on the back thanks to you.

  • nothing to add...I,m just enjoying this!

  • Thanks for posting

  • It's a pleasure

  • i miss exuberantly, non-ironically, happy music. sigh. i need a good alt 80s night to dance to this stuff again...

  • 1983. good times

  • A brilliant 'feel good' song. Reminds me of great times.

  • so good. I'm getting that fucking haircut. Don't copy me... errr, I mean him.

  • Love this song, Love this album! So great to see this video for the first time after all these years!

  • the devil is the only black person in the video

  • no I saw a black kid at 41 sec

  • That is some damn fine guitar playing.

  • This is my favorite song of all time. :)

  • same

  • this was always my favorite version of this video, though i love this song no matter what!

  • Roddy's pretty make up scared me. From some angles he is almost Claire Grogan-ish in a very disturbing way. At other times he looks like KD Lang.

I couldn't watch all of it as it was making me feel uncomfortable.

  • Bit of a Boy George look here too. Go on, admit it, you fancy him! Yee can be a Biggar man than you imagine

  • I swear this song makes me so happy. Roddy is just adorable, charming. It's so great. And he is so talented!

  • if you had to select a song that would represent

the early 80's modern rock sound, this would have to be a top 5 choice. simply awesome!!

the Spanish guitar adds a nice touch to an already fantastic produced track. timeless.

    an all-time classic!

  • went to see them at the glasgow pavilion in 83 just as this was coming out...they were awesome and the encore by roddy..was we could send letters...left everyone with a lump in their throats,,,still an awesome singer song writer..as he we say...we called it genius

  • Kinda strange - I was a metalhead at the time & still am - but I always thought this was great !

  • i remember watching this vid ages ago thanks for bringing it back :-)))

  • I wanted a suede jacket with a fringe for 20 years after seeing this video. Roddy also got me wearing bolo ties. He paid me back by throwing me his scottish tartan tie at a show in SLC in the mid 80s

  • Lucky!

  • Don't forget these guys were 16 years old when they made this video!! Six-freaking-teen! They opened for the Clash during their summer holidays. What were you doing when you were that young? I glued to MTV and these guys were on it! UNBELIEVEABLE!!

  • I love it! Thats what I love about the eighties, even the ostensibly throw away/bubblegum songs had something to them. Mostly, I mean, every age has its rejects. But most of the 'first generation' MTV stuff at least has character, and isn't slick and bland or over-reaching and tiresome like today. Thanks for posting campfreddie!

  • Eek, I always thought he was cute but he looks like Keira Knightley!!!!

  • He may look like Keira Knightley here, but he did it before it was cool to look like Keira Knightley!

  • Wow, this one's really weird! But soooo much better than the other vid they did for this song. That other gloomy, boring one is the only one I remember seeing. Maybe they thought they had to dull it down for North American audiences or something???

  • This is the only one I EVER saw in the US

  • This one was done by a North American company (Sire) a division of a North American corporation (Warner Brothers) for a North American audience on the North American MTV ... any more questions about which version was dulled down?

  • Thank you for posting this "CLASSIC"!!!!!!!!!!! I can't stand it when they pull'em off, it's not like theres any real harm in sharing, (those bastards) you and others are my heros!!!!! Thanks again! ; )

  • Bless you deduero!

  • so nice to see this video again. it's great to see roddy's young, happy face. my question is does the tower blow up at the end? (i didn't remember that at all)...

  • I still remember I fall in love with Roddy Frame watching this MTV. Those are the days! I am glad that I grow up in the 80's. I LOVE 80s!!!

  • Christ! this take me back 24 years! One of my ALL TIME FAVOURITES for sure!

  • Can anyone post " How Men Are"

  • Love this song!

  • Roddy looks like frigging Keira Knightley

  • this was made probably before keira knightly was alive, maybe she looks like roddy

  • thank god someone got the good one

  • I'm so glad to see this version again! my fav. - they pulled this one out recently. Thanks... :-))

  • You're welcome. I noticed the other one had disappeared and thought a gem like this should still be available. It's an odd one eh?
