Thanks for the tip about using a smaller brush. You are right, everyone else says to use a big slanted blush brush but after trying this with a smaller brush like you suggested, the results are much better. I've seen like a million contouring videos and yours is pretty much the best. I like how you do the "what not to do" part.

If you were painting on a blank canvas, it would be great. If this was on film, or for the stage it would be great...but most of the time we're not on stage, and faces are blank canvases.

I'd imagine that this would look extremely, extremely un-natural! The whole point of "contouring" cheeks is to emphasize where the hollows of the cheeks would be, that's the point of making the "fish face." While this make create and illusion of higher cheek bones, and might look good on camera (especially with good lighting) I imagine it would look incredibly "drawn" in real life. Usually you have great tips Kasey, but this ehh...not so much.

Doing that curve around your cheek to bring out your cheek is what I do!! It really does make a difference because it really gives a nice sculpted look especially when u add highlighter to your cheekbone afterwards.

i think its funny how you say whats wrong and whats right and you say that its wrong to use a "face contour brush" to contour, when i thought makeup brushes were made by PROFESSIONALS. any who since its seems like you like to go into detail i suggest not using a bronzer powder to contour since it has alot of warm undertones. use a taupe powder with neutral undertones to imitate the true color of a shadow.

@HummingBird1107 Actually, they do it the right way, the method they use actually uses one's face proportions, and enhances the natural shape of the face. This, while it might look great on film, and maybe in the mirror with the proper lighting, would look incredibly unnatural and "drawn" on in person. I guess it depends on how painted one wants to look on a regular basis.
