Ok, lets look at facts here...

The Hellbourne's team lineup is: Chronos, Scout, Nh, Kraken and Slither.

Not only they have 3 melee carries but also they have 2 heroes that go invis...

Not to mention that the only ranged on the team is slither, who has a really small range.

In current day HoN that was a TERRIBLE build.

I personally go 2 duckboots, mana pot and runes, then go for marchers, then bottle, then iron shield, then finish boots, then geomancers, then if the game still continues I go for behemoths heart and break down my iron shield into a bkb. If it's still on by that point I go for shroud for kicks.

that build is kinda ok but it will leave you REALLY vulnerable until you get HOT.

cd is not an ordinary carry that can just join the battle last and kill everybody, he has to be there from the start for his second and ulti to take effect. thats why he needs survivability; and as he has loads of dmg from his second, he also needs attack speed for it to be deadly. its kinda hard to mix those 2 things together in a game. your build does it!

i think you build CD pretty bad there. just lucky they didnt target you in fights. I had gone vanguard easy vs 4 agility heroes to be able to tank them easier. My core build is vanguard or/with shamans headdress. Because you don't need damage early imo. You are very vunerable with those items you have before behmoths heart. With my core items i can tank and stack corrupted conduict. Just my point of view

That actually is mainly what i build.  Vanguard to tank while corrupted conduict for damage. This was actually a test build using a nullblade early game. But i agree with you there, tanking items are more effective with him.
