my big thing is that sure wow was a great game but it got to be a grind fest and no one wants their free time/game time to be like a second job, SWTOR offers companions and a well involved story to help make this game more enjoyable and feel less like a pain in the neck. also high end graphics dont make or break a game gameplay and lore do... remember that. the only thing that pretty graphics do is draw in the crowd (ooooo.... ahhhhhh) but thats not what keeps em playing : /
I hope this game lives up to the expectations, otherwise... The graphics are going in the wrong direction, imo. Yes, I know this is 3 years old, but I've seen new stuff also, and they focus a bit too much on shininess and facial features, when the most important thing is ANIMATIONS. And they suck. Big time. The way a goblin dies in WoW is just epic. The Night Elf battle stance is awesome. Here, all I can see is paralytic old scows battling with sticks. Animations, Bioware, gief better animations
@0vershade i think you fail to realize the they make the weapons touch eachother in wow animations just suck dick and it just gets old because of how long it takes to get to lvl 85 it sucks in general so there for SWTOR will be the absolute #1 game in the world there will be tons more people playing than there is on wow
@BerZerK0 besides the fact that the greatest game designers are behind this (Bioware has never made a bad game) this game DOES bring new things to the table. first is that it has a very in depth and involved story. u actually feel like u r part of this story (where wow has a story behind it but only bits and pieces. most of which u have to read up on) also there will be features like having companions not just certain toons like hunters or shamans in wow.
@BerZerK0 these companions not only fight along side u but can craft things for u or gather materials or u can just chat with them and get them to like u. with that being said your character actually speaks to the quest givers and u can choose what and what way to respond.... so yea id say there is a lot more to the table that this game is offering than ANY MMO and offline games out there. i am not that much of a star wars fan myself but i know a good game when i see/play one
@BerZerK0 Bioware always created games (since their legendary Baldurs Gate) that can be called real RPGs, where you actually feel like u really are in the game - every their game had this something, that allows you feel like, lets say, heroic Bhaal's child completing his destiny. Blizzard has never even be close to such climate of game. i know what i say.
@MrSecretny No they don't, they create games where you're given the illusion of choice through programmer-chosen dialog options, but the game inevitably leads to essentially the same end. Real RPGS don't exist anymore, and if they do, Bioware does not make them.
@Decimus78 man, what are u talking about? i played and seen many rpgs. also these old. and nearly every rpg leads to the same end. examples: Earthbound leads to defeating Gyigas, Wizardry 7 to beating Dark Savant, TES Arena to beating jagar (this game sucked), etc. The only games i know which allowed more endings is Fable...

I think this game will rock, i think i'ma quit WoW for it. Rly seems like Blizz is just trying to milk the last part out of WoW now, with the new patch coming up. they announce things wich is totally useless, + deathwing as a raidboss alrdy. Rly annoying.
@TheNissemann90 dude i agree completely i stopped playing wow about a month ago because i got burnt out on the game.. i was on the shittiest server in game and i couldnt get anything done.. got no progression and when i tried to my guild wasnt up to par and couldnt down a boss. i stop playing cuz they are releasing new content when i ahvent beaten the old content AND DEATH WING??? wtf is that it took lich king like a year and half to come out and its barely 3/4s a year into cataclysm..

@AzKnc I dont want to fuel the flame, but you must have had it on crap definition when you watched the video, because GW2 has one of the most highly praised team of artists and animators of any game studio, like ever. My only possible explanation for your error is that you watched an original Guild Wars video, which to be honest hasnt stood up well to the advance of technology.

For those of you being afflicted by marketing, the reason they want you to buy this game before you know anything about it, is they are not kidding themselves how bad it it is. This is dissapointing, but please do not reward these people for having absolutely no respect for their customers. The game is shambolic, and if you think you hate it now, just wait til you play it. No offence, but this game does not come even near to WoW. Blizzard has 5 years worth of work in wow, they perfected it, tweaked it, and the support there is incomeperable. I'm really curious tho, what's this game gonna be. Maybe a serious competitor, or just a futule effort...
Blizzard has had years to perfect it's art....and they did a rehash of old content, and made little tweaks to it. Tweaks that get old fast! End-game content is lacking this expansion, and sorry but I cut my ties with WoW. I am hoping this will give Blizzard a run for their money and make them consider changing it up a little more to draw people back in.

@Hotfrotato because other games cant compete with them, nor have the funding to make a good game like warcraft. Bioware is backed by EA one of the largest video games companies in the world and people dont have to touch the game and already they know what to expect because its star wars, where as with a game like for example say rift, the MMO no one knows fuck all bout tht game until they play it, and the majority of people dont have the patience to give it a try, they wann kno if its gd or not.
if you earn light side points you get treated like a hero, if you get dark side points you get treated like a villain in the game, your choices differ if u were light side or dark side so its alot better than rep in wow, reputation in wow is boring, u grind for hours just to get exalted with some bullshit group u dont give a fuck bout just for somin good their selling wow was good 4 years ago, its old shite now, because blizz have let the game down
so if you take tht into account no other MMO has done that yet, and bioware are masters at making massive important choices that really are hard to decide, like daniel erikson said, hes a lead writer on swtor he said we could record a player when he was testing the game and when a big choice came up he was there for ages trying to decide what to do, like it was hard for him to make the choice and from playing prvious bioware games i know full well what they mean! thats why ther awesome
because you didnt want to kill him, so your not affected by the other players choice, later in the game the guy that got killed might have some powerful friends that come after the player who killed him, they might come after you too but you'll both have different options like, the game recognizes you tried to save him, and the other player wanted to kill him and thats how it works they might attack the guy that killed him, and leave u alone cos u wanted to save him

You know how people in WoW say, "wait till you hit level 85 then the epicness starts" Why can't it be epic 1-85? Well...in SWTOR it will be. The music will go right along with the storylines that will go right along with the voice over and give you goosebumps.
I think in SWTOR, the whole game will be endgame :P
@TheJedimaster6788 frankly end game lvl 85 in world of warcraft gets BORING once you are even remotely geared to where like say how if you were fully bloodthirsty geared last season and only doing arena well once you reach your weekly cap you pretty much can't do nothing to gear lol

@TheJedimaster6788 Well it depends on the machine and friends you have to do it, WoW can be fun if you have a machine that can play everything top quality and have friends to play with along the way because 1-85 will be boring by yourself obv but wow IS currently the top mmo so if wow didn't exist swtor would not be able to because alot of the stuff they are using will be refurbished.
the difference between rift and any other game that tried to challenge wow and TOR IS that TOR has a huge back ground unlike any other mmo that has tried to get rid of wow!!!

@ladruner the cool thing about the combat there is no auto attack if you wanna say swing your light saber you gotta hit an attack to do it each time and you got different build up attacks to build up the (rage/focus/energy) what ever the 2nd bar is under the HP to build it up to do a larger more dmg move

Yea well after launch of WOW cataclysm sorry bored already boring shit. all the things that was fun they took out of the game and now just a grind show. chill out, do not compare this to WoW, WoW was, WoW is, and WoW will be long after this and many new games would come up.
This will end just like "others wow killers"....failed.
No MMO can beat WoW unless it gives something more, something new and create new brand in MMO.
Anyway i was never a die hard of Star Wars fan, so i'm not even considering this an option.

@BerZerK0 these companions not only fight along side u but can craft things for u or gather materials or u can just chat with them and get them to like u. with that being said your character actually speaks to the quest givers and u can choose what and what way to respond.... so yea id say there is a lot more to the table that this game is offering than ANY MMO and offline games out there. i am not that much of a star wars fan myself but i know a good game when i see/play one

@BerZerK0 Bioware always created games (since their legendary Baldurs Gate) that can be called real RPGs, where you actually feel like u really are in the game - every their game had this something, that allows you feel like, lets say, heroic Bhaal's child completing his destiny. Blizzard has never even be close to such climate of game. i know what i say.

@MrSecretny No they don't, they create games where you're given the illusion of choice through programmer-chosen dialog options, but the game inevitably leads to essentially the same end. Real RPGS don't exist anymore, and if they do, Bioware does not make them.

Blizzard has had years to perfect it's art....and they did a rehash of old content, and made little tweaks to it. Tweaks that get old fast! End-game content is lacking this expansion, and sorry but I cut my ties with WoW. I am hoping this will give Blizzard a run for their money and make them consider changing it up a little more to draw people back in.

so if you take tht into account no other MMO has done that yet, and bioware are masters at making massive important choices that really are hard to decide, like daniel erikson said, hes a lead writer on swtor he said we could record a player when he was testing the game and when a big choice came up he was there for ages trying to decide what to do, like it was hard for him to make the choice and from playing prvious bioware games i know full well what they mean! thats why ther awesome

because you didnt want to kill him, so your not affected by the other players choice, later in the game the guy that got killed might have some powerful friends that come after the player who killed him, they might come after you too but you'll both have different options like, the game recognizes you tried to save him, and the other player wanted to kill him and thats how it works they might attack the guy that killed him, and leave u alone cos u wanted to save him

@ladruner the cool thing about the combat there is no auto attack if you wanna say swing your light saber you gotta hit an attack to do it each time and you got different build up attacks to build up the (rage/focus/energy) what ever the 2nd bar is under the HP to build it up to do a larger more dmg move

im totally going to get this. in the past i have always gotten bored of mmo's but. i really like how in this one there are fun missions with a story. now instead of just killing bears to lvl up i can actually have fun!!! oh and if u haven't seen video's of the the coop missions called flashpoints u should look it up its sooooo sick!!!

what people dont realise is wow is getting seriously old now, they havent changed the gameplay at all in about 5 years cos all blizz care bout is money, bioware put in the work for their games, while blizzard sits back and gains more cash ONLY because ther isnt another company as big or bigger than them tht can out do them on an MMO, this is the the game i believe will. Star wars already has a huge fan base just from the films, and then u got video games battlefront series, kotor series etc
