  • i feel so ashamed reading some of these comments. most of these people are not educated enough. some of these people are ignorant & others have so much hatred that it's blinding them. some comments are just plain atrocious. why did you even write them when there's no purpose; your comments are a waste of space just like you. she's trying to free our country & help our people live a better life through nonviolence because the consequences of war is depression.no one wants to see people starve.

  • @clickswitchh I dont like her looks. I dont find Asian bitches attractive. They are short and slitty eyes, and Aung San Gook Kyi has very large ears.

  • fine i hope ur shit hole country will be opress for the nex 3 century with out heavy destructive weapon there will be no usa honkong and south korea those evill ppl would have kill all freedom country violence against evil ppl is good like nuking jap and spraying poison gascausing birthdefect in vietnam is good

  • Violence is crazy and so are you limwang. Who exactly do you want to kill in Myanmar/Burma?

And why? Peace and Love, Sky

  • Useless mouth, Useless Brian, Useless Mind, Useless Eyes and Useless the whole body. She caused the many people lives ended. Very pain in my heart...

  • DAMN I HATE THIS NON VIOLENCE BULLSHIT I WANNT KILL THOSE BURMESE SCUMBAG SO MUCH VIOLENT IS NECCESSARY TO CREAT A DEMOCRACY THE MERICAN THE FRENCH USED ALOT OF EXTREME VIONCET TO CREATED DEMOCRACY. VIOLENCE IS GOOD

  • @limwang75

Youe entitled to your opinion man, but violence is no guarantee. I want to kill those responsible for the atrocities in Burma aswell but sometimes it does take more courage to fight the fight the way Aung San Suu Kyi did (with non violence). Gandhi fought the British with non violence and won.

  • Hi bros and Sises, I siad like these, because these was the true affairs. I lost my innocent father too as well as the others because of her and her followers. I was just under 12yrs old when she was cooking poisoned curries. It is an axiom affair those many people in Myanmar lost their lives and their properties, and many young girls and even midwives have been raped by military because of Aung San Suu Kyi. Aung San Suu Kyi owes many, many things to the many people of Myanmar.

  • every power country have good enought weapon to control peace in world.

  • non violence sound really sweet but look at burmese army underpress other ethenic and killed innocent people.

  • b cuz of ur non violence ur country is a suffering mess full of suffering but hey u a buddish im sure u ppl can stand it us in the west dont care about ur country i hope u all die. ur non violence resisitance is useless . it take violent to attain freedom . french, america revolution also same in chianvietnam cuba but those are bad country

  • @samantha34ize

    1) Learn to spell 2) India

  • omg she seems like such a gentle person. i love her!

  • Daw Suh has really mistaken touched a warm of Honey Bees in 8 / 8 / 1988. So, some of the defend Bees were got angry and then spread out at everywhere in Myamar to revenge and to find Daw Suh and her party members. The angry defend Bees have tortured many, many of the innocent people else at everywhere in Myanmar beside Daw Suh and Her Party-Members. And, if I said by the other site," Daw Aung Saan Suh Kyi can't put out the fire any more which her have ignited". So, Daw Aung Saan Suh..

  • A real Myanmese criminal is Daw Aung San Suu Kyi since 8 / 8 / 1988 till now. More than 3,000 people's lives were ended including my father's, and many, many lives of myanmese's have been ruined. She snagged my whole life else. She got the profound credit on us. She have a lot to compensate us. Every day, I have been receiving the despises of the other which I don't like the most, because of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. She have made me totally slam my life. It is not just a say, but the truth.

  • 50 long years is too long a period for the administrater to learn from the neighbour and correct and put the nation in right track... it is the period of a life time for the citizen.. the life ends before they start to live a flexible relaxed civic life....

Yes, Ihve been a son of the soil.... and I shed tears for such a backwardness of my country of birth

  • Well said, Mme Sui Kyi! - in simpler words than Gandhi... that a man with a gun always fail to use his mind and ultimate war against the economic depression of a country is lost" it is true in the case of Myanmar.. it is much more backward than Thailand in spite of the potential it had and the status it was 50 yrs ago(then Thailand was far Backward).. Citizens with potentiality and denial of the opportunity migrated out of Myanmar and made themselves as refugee in their own country too..

  • @MyTenToes and @MaXiMuSx - You show a typical lack or respect for this fine woman. She is definitely no stooge for any of the "intelligence" agencies. To have tolerated what she has had to put up with since she was accidentally swept up in the events of 1988 shows that she has more backbone than you'll ever have.

  • Look at this hypocritical Bitch.. How much money does she get from the CIA/MI6 to overthrow the Chinese friendly goverment in Burma and to install a western puppet one.. You people are being decieved..

  • @xMaXiMuSx Why on earth do you think the Junta are friendly? They've tortured, raped, stolen from and murdered the Burmese people. I'm getting a little scared with the conspiracy theories people post on YouTube nowadays.

  • @MyTenToes

I have no proof of this but this Bitch is defenitaly an asset of US intelligence..

  • stupid woman so naive u know the only way to get democracy is through violents USA FRANCE and other REvolutionS ARE THROUGH ARMS STRUGGLE IT IS THE ONLY WAT NONVIOLENCE AGAINST THESE JUNTA DONT WORK THEY ARE NOT CIVILIZE LIKE THE BRIT U HAVE TO ALLY UR GROUP WITH OTHER GROUPS IN BURMA AND END THIS SUFFERIN. GUN ANTI-TANK AIRCRAFT AND GOOD REPUBLICAN MILITARY LEADERSHIP ARE THE ONLY WAY

  • And as soon as we remove WAR from all options, the way forward becomes obvious.

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you Aung San Su Kyi.

    WAR IS NOT AN OPTION!!!

Until we make it not an option, then we will not find the way forward.

  • more power to her

  • can someone give me a link to the video of her keynote address at the 1995 Beijing World Conference on Women ? Or any excerpt of that speech

  • She is a big woman!

    :-)

  • The most beautiful woman in the world . She is THE woman .The Radiating force of the love smile in her eyes , so light beauty , so magic charm of the woman ever. Her smile shines the love for mankind , which is the utmost achieved form of love . The completed affective loop for a woman : Love for a Man , for her kids , love for any kids , and utmost perfect achievement : love for the whole human specie. All the human basement of life Jews can't print .

  • Aung San Suh Khi is looks like a queen of Mokey how stoned a bee swarm. She couldn't protect her children form stinging by the angry bees, and then, her children were spread out everywhere on the world to be save thier lifes form stinging the angry bees.

  • Aung San Suu Kyi is awesome such a strong woman

a freedom fighter she deserves winning the nobel prize in 1991

Aung San Suu Kyi the real president of Birma!!! We love her greetings from Germany

  • Dear Friends, this strikes a chord with me. There were two great brave women in my family: my grandmother and my mother. In the town centre, in the Italian Alps, was the Headquarters of the German Armies in Italy; just above, in the forest, was my grandmother and mother house, the Headquarters of the Resistance (my uncle was a concentration camp survivor). In the last part of the war, they were wanted by the Nazis and Fascists, and they had a narrow escape.

  • Didn't your mother or father tell you DON'T point your fingers when your whole hand is crooked?!?!??!

  • @FeelingWreckless it's quite entertaining to see the way you lose your temper and how you attack like a wild dog. Gives nice ideas about your nature. I won't even try to discuss things with you like civilized people.

But I just thank you for making me laugh tonight. Keep on swearing with your endless ignorance.

  • @tchugra

Turk what would you know about "civilised?" Genocide of 1.5 million Armenians, a growing Islamist government, decimating Kurds: denying them language ( its illegal to name your child a kurdish name), political representation, torture.....should I go on? Where's their country? I'm glad you savages aren't in the EU just a pity you are in NATO.

Messing up up every European country you go to, what do you bring doner kebabs?

  • look!

This is a big woman, don't you know?

  • "Whatever help we may want from the international community now or in the future, we want to make sure that this help is tailored to help our people to help themselves." - Daw Aung San Suu Kyi

  • @njiuma

Not a good record you Turks have is it - ever going to say "sorry" to what you did to the Armenian people or give give Kurds their land or stop killing people? What you've lost your tongue kebab eating pig?

  • she's so brilliant!

  • Nonviolence is, sadly, impossible. There are people who have misplaced their humanity and want to hurt or kill the innocent. This day and age, turning the other cheek will get that one slapped, too.

As much as I hate to admit it, war is necessary for peace.

  • To fire a gun or launch a missile takes only a few second of primitive thought, to confront your 'enemy' round a table and enter a dialogue with him to resolve the conflict using non violent means takes hours of careful thought, planning and most of all, compromise.

The UK has lost hundreds of troops needlessly in Afghanistan, and I bet we've never even cared to find out why our enemy, the taliban, feel as they do towards us.

  • awww lol :)

  • You try living around Arabs or muslims and you'll realise that you can't meet aggressive savages with non-violence.

  • @FeelingWreckless -pathetic mate, you're pathetic. shame on you

  • @tchugra

Which part of what I wrote don't you get " mate???" Look at the tables, studies, polls many muslims equal shit loads of trouble. Look at any country over 7% of muslims and tell me there is not a problem that is caused by them? I'll wait. If you can't do it fuck the hell off. and Iran, Libya, Saudi don't count you piece of shit.

  • @FeelingWreckless, it is people, any people of any religion or culture who are stuck in ur mindset who are dangerous. Check ur attitude. I'll pray that u find peace, i pray for all violent, greedy, paranoid people all the time.

  • @tchugra

Either tell me what the fuck I've written that is factually incorrect or jog the fuck on - GET IT?

  • @tchugra

Go give the Kurds their language, culture, history back and sort YOUR countries human rights issues out. You are a bunch of savages.

  • Long live peace, long live freedom, long live justice, long live democracy. Long live Aung San Suu Kyi.

  • she looks like yoko =) yeah ! peace lennon's legacy plsss !!!

  • The only way to change Burma is with extreme violence. Get rid of the current leaders through dialogue and appeals to reason...lol. I appreciate the idea but the real world doesn't care about compassion or non-violence. It does take bravery of a sort to really have her position though, she isn't intimidated by the thugs. I would love to holiday in Burma one day.

  • Unbelievable beautiful woman for age 65...Suu Kyi I am single....welcome back to freedom...I pray it lasts for you.

  • shell be assassinated within weeks remember where u heard it first

  • A great woman,blessing!

  • Hail to the All Resplendent Avatar of the Goddess of Compassion and Mercy!!

  • totally....satisfied with her...and happy that MR gandhi influenced her greatly , hope burma will soon be a democratic country and she ll be there to see burma people celebrating

  • အေမစုလြတ္လာလုိ ့အရမ္း၀မ္းသာပါတယ္ အေမစုေနေကာငး္ပါေစ လုိ ့ဆုေတာင္းပါတယ္

  • Her english is just pro! Especially for such an isolated corrupt country

  • @ilovewii11 The marvelous lady was married to an English professor (now deceased) with two children. She studied and lived in England, but left her family to liberate her people from military dictatorship enduring great hardship and risking her life. God bless her and save her!!

  • @ilovewii11 The marvelous lady was married to an English professor (now deceased) with two children. She studied and lived in England, but left her family to liberate her people from military dictatorship enduring great hardship and risking her life. God bless her and save her!! Eckart

  • She is truly a global icon. She is smart, tenacious and graceful. I love her English. If only SE Asia had leaders like her. The non-violent approach she espouses is admirable. It is the right way. I am happy for the Burmese people. I hope they will be able to establish some form of democracy. Thanks to the US and other countries who have thrown their support to her release.

  • May she remain free and may all beings be free.

  • Wow...I never knew that she can speak such good english!

  • Aung San Suu Kyi you are free at last !!!! May you live long and reign over the earth as a God of Peace !!!!!

  • She is free just now!!!

  • @ThermalHD

Hope she gives up on democracy but focus more on the better seeds for freedom and liberty and means establish rule of law not just democracy. See how a democratic congress in the US still violates the constitution, likes the never ending wars, the deficit spending etc etc. How much it does not do anything for personal freedom with perhaps some independent politicians in general like Ron Paul and to a lesser degree others in congress and the senate.

  • Shes hot ... Milf

  • What if they release her and then arrest her again....that will break her spirit. That what I will do if I am a communist...breaking people spirit just so to prove I am right. Hypocrites....

It's a win-win for the junta..she will be obedience and then left Burma in a heartbeat not to return for the remainder of her years. It's called fear.

  • a wise person uses their mind: aung san su kyi

a dumb/foolish person uses their weapon: than shwe

    :)

  • @wtfpssh i use my mind and hand

  • YET SHE STAYS UNDER HOUSE ARREST UNDER THE THREAT OF VIOLENCE.

  • @buddhasknowbest You're calling her the extremist? You obviously don't know the details to her story or her country's story. She's promoting peace, freedom, and independence and the ruling junta is completely against those ideals. Their gov't is a military dictatorship. And as dictatorships go, there's no negotiating with them. You either follow their rules or get punished for your disobedience. And they didn't let foreigners walk all over them. The more powerful countries came and conquered.

  • @jonsingh92

The Myanmar junta wants peace more than Aung San Suu Kyi. They would love for everyone to be humble and subdued under their rule. It is Aung San Suu Kyi and her supporters that have risen up against the government, instead of working with them. As for independence and peace, those two are incompatible. If a nation is to be independent, it is seeking independence from something else. By default, it is divided. With a "us and them" mentality, there is conflict. That is not peace.

  • @jkrishna7 well,, she was graduated from Oxford, worked for the UN in NewYork, Studied about her assasinated Father in Japan, being grown up surrounded high ranked consular from around the world, and she is chosen by Burmese to lead the country and set an example to the world, we Asian love freedom and peace. But such a bright ideal icon is being locked up for almost 20 years, if she was freed, and was able to use all her idea activly, we asian will be in harmony. Love Dassk, may you be free

  • we love you aung san su kyi

  • actually violence vs non violence is a very complicated issue.see Hitler was warned by Gandhi by letters that his own weapon will destroy himself and Germany was defeated. while lets suppose a tiger trespass in area of other tiger. the tiger will use violence as solution.

  • Non violence does not work. Those fuckers need to fight.

  • @carl1223 They do. Check Rambo 4. But is not enough.

  • @carl1223 It work in India and South Africa and here in the u.s.

  • we are wt u all the time i like ur humanitrian work carry on dear madam

  • If Aung San Suu Kyi read some of the comments on this video she will be depressed and probably even ashamed that she talked so intelligently to us.

  • good for you.. 20 house arrest is good for you.. that is the result of non-violent.. if you don't have power, you can't do anything except non-violence.

  • is she from Tibet?

  • @theEroticKitchen For God's sake, do yourself a huge favor and check her on Wikipedia. Ah, and see Rambo 4.

  • mahatma gandhi led the non-violencece movement from the inspiration of Jesus Christ! turn the other cheek! He did it! Daw San Suu Kyi will wait on some people long they can do it on! You 'll see it! Love live DASSK!

  • @revolutionsuan how old is she.. maybe next 30 years, she will be released then she will think about violence..

  • is it sad to know that many people were jailed for telling the truth and fighting for democracy.

  • My thoughts and prayers

  • Mesmerising. She exudes peace love and harmony. This is the first time ever that I have heard DASSK speak in English.Thank you for this video.

  • The real, actual and lawful president of Burma.

  • I like Aung Sun Suu Kyi very much. I wish her to be safely released and allowed her rightful position as head of state as soon as possible by peaceful means. I would like to take her to the pictures or the theatre.

  • Non violence is the only way - unfortunately that means the commitment of sacrificing your own life - thank you Aung San Suu Kyi - South Africa had many many people die before apartheid was finally stopped - the same is true in Burma - the people r giving their lives - for non violence. It is the only way - it is painful

  • @Googleman1983

Non vioelnce doesnt work. Look how long shes been under house arrest! Time to admit the non violence is a failure.

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND KEEP ON FIGHTING!!!!

  • I know someday Aung San Suu Kyi will be free by US and their NATO allies. I know the SSA, KNU, ALP, CNF, KNO, & KNPP will defeat Myanmar military government. I know US' CIA will help them trained them. One reason North Korean is helping Myanmar building Nuclear bomb by making a ballistic missiles that could reach up to 3,000 km.

  • Than Shwe is a dictatorship and who is also allied with North Korea, China, and Russia. China, Russia, and North Korea should be charged of war criminals for helping Myanmar military government killing Karen, Shan, and others ethnic minority. They also should be charged for beating the Buddhism monk that is totally disrespect a religious group. The SSA, KNU, ALP, CNF, KNO, & KNPP are going kick Myanmar military government butts. They will get US and NATO helps someday. Free Aung San Suu Kyi!

  • @USAAIRPOWER - haha stupid american

She is a western educated scum... no way in the world she should be the leader of any asian nation. fK America and your low class allies

  • @PRCForever - why don't you crawl back under the rock you came out from! Your comments show you for who you are ... probably a pro-totalitarian, anti-democracy mouthpiece from an oppressed state (and I can guess from your name that it is China)!!

Suu Kyi's goal in life has been to help achieve freedom for Burma and its people and she has sacrificed everything, even her own personal freedom and her family, in order to attain that dream.

Go back to your hell-hole and stop insulting her!!!

  • @YankinLondon he's jealous he cant make peace at all

  • @PRCForever F**k U

  • @USAAIRPOWER .. I agree with you =) . All stupid countries and people that helps burmese military government should be punished

  • This lady is my hero...

  • hi nancatube, i was hoping to use this interview footge as a source for my modern history assessment, could you possibly give me more information about the 'author' per say of ths source and any company you may have been acting on the part of, anthe circumstances of the inteview? it would be really helpful, as this footage is fantastic and great for my assignment. id love it if you could help, please post any details you can give on my profile. thanks heaps :)

  • @queenlouisa

you will find out more about Aung San Suu Kyi on the websites of Amnesty International, Burma Watch and also the Human Rights Action Center.

  • It is very admirable of her to continue championing non-violence in the face of what the Burmese military regime has done to her country and its people. But her stance maybe playing into the hands of the regime by giving them more time to consolidate and tighten the grip on the power they already have.

The regime will wait her out (she is in ill health and very frail after all the years of being under house arrest) as they know when she goes, there will be nobody left to pick up the torch.

  • Esta es una gran mujer, ella es un icono de la libertad y donde quiera que este ( hoy presa en su casa durante 14 años) siempre será una luz de inspiracion.

  • She truly is inspiring. Read Perfect Hostage and The Voice of Hope. I pray for her courage.

  • omg i love her accent!

  • i dont get it. what did she do that made her deserve house arrest for so long?

  • @Rachulie burma is the country where she is from and its a dictatorship. shes protesting against the government.shes trying to win back her peoples rights. she left the country but she came back to help her peopl and since then she has been under house arrest.she has been under house arrest for like 14 years. shes a remarkable woman

  • Make Suu Kyi Leader of the World. from Women Against War FB pages

  • Make Suu Kyi Leader of the World. from Women Against War FB pages

  • Make Aung San Leader of the World. From Women against War face book pages

  • Whoever disliked this are pure idiots. Think, my friends, think!

Without her, the People of Burma would have their lost hope already and continue to suffer quietly under a regime that reigns to this day.

Remember what Gandhi said, always think that love and truth has always won. Even if we have witnessed repressive regimes over the centuries, always think that they will crumble and that FREEDOM will always PREVAIL!

FREE AUNG SAN SUU KYI and the PEOPLE OF BURMA!

  • this is important video : we have to use our brains and harts for freedom

  • she is stupid.

  • she is such a respectful person set HER FREE !!!!

KEEP SMILING Aung San Suu Kyi

  • Aung San Suu Kyi !

Thanxxx, For all the effort ,

    I believe I am that I am ,

and that in me is a little piece off everyone,

    IAmsterdam

  • she is great leader in our world....we r with her...we r for her too.

  • Could i get source information please for a report for school.

    Thank you

    Free Burma!

  • and to think that they actually gave the nobel prize to worms like al gore and obama...this woman represents a true deserver of this prize...gore and obama should be so so so ashamed to have accepted it.....

  • @rubearo obama in fact admitted that he was not ready for such prize :p

  • ''All through history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers and for a time they seem invincible but in the end, they always fall -- think of it, ALWAYS.'' - M.Gandhi

They will fall. Not now, not later but they will fall someday.

  • What an inspiring personality! And what she's saying is so simple and makes perfect sense. The example of how the pre-independence non-violence movement affects India as a nation and Indian politics even after more than 60 years, 4 wars and many crisis situations is great.. and I'm sure that in time when Aung San Suu Kyi is freed (I truly believe that's gonna happen), the dictatorship ends and democracy prevails, Burma will become a new example of a free peace loving country.

  • FREE HER!!!! Burma has no justification for keeping her house arrested, its insane!

  • wisdom. personified. an inspiration to us all. truly an awesome wonderful being.

  • Sadly, it seems she will be under house arrest till the day she dies. Burma just came out with a law that she cannot run for elections lol. What the heck????

  • i agree so what, but human nature will never change some will wont peace and some will wont to that that peace, by force so what do you do then shout, im not saying resorte to vilance and im not saying arm ppl, but some time word fall on deaf ears(ie they dont wont to listen)

  • @ubernagash DEATH TO TYRANTS....WHERE EVER THEY ARE.....PEOPLE ARE BORN TO BE FREE AND ANY HUMAN WHO ATTEMPTS TO TAKE THAT FREEDOM AWAY SHOULD BE IMPRISONED LIKE AUNG SAN SUU KYI SO THEY CAN HAVE PLENTY OF TIME TO THINK ABOUT WHAT THEY HAVE DONE

  • Wow this affected me so much I let my wife out of the kitchen...

    ;)

  • The reason the Burmese government are unable to make her "dissapear" is that she is incredibly popular with the vast majority of the Burmese population and is also the daughter of General Aung San, who is widely seen as the founder of modern Burma.

Incredibly brave, one of the pre-eminent figures of our time...

  • free her now! a true hero.

  • she needs to be freed

  • Her vision is pure and clear on keeping peace...

I agree, she is another Mandella!

    Free Her!

  • She is brave and committed, and the Burma government holds on to her. To show power? To bully everyone? Who knows. Must be some reason why they haven't killed her.

    Another Mandella?

  • This is one incredibly brave woman. She's been under house arrest in Burma (and yes, I do say BURMA because Myanmar is what the narrow-minded, fascistic Burmese government call it) for years now. That's the ultimate paradox, if you ask me. The Burmese government can torture and execute thousands and thousands of their own people, but they're terrified of just one woman and they can't shut her up. Maybe because somewhere inside their screwed-up hearts, they know she's right.

  • Amazing women may her legacy inspire other, she has struggled so much through out her life , I read her life story and it just made me want to cry :(

  • I <3 her. I wish I knew how to pronounce her name : (

  • Thank you Aung San Suu Kyi...

  • Non-violence and peace are a very high and sophisticated weapons for fighting highly sophisticated people. You cant use it against a low-level criminal government like Burmese junta or the brutal China's CCP. They will just cut you up and sell your organs in a non-violent manner before you even blink your eye.

  • @sargentpepperoni : I believe that thousands of Buddhist monks have been killed by the military brutes by banging their bald heads against brick walls . That is true bravery. Long live the monks and Buddhists of Burma and Tibet.

  • Well, some see non-violence as just a means to an end when facing a insormountable military odds. Other like Gandhi, and I'm guessing these monks, see it as an absolute moral issue. Basically it's an appeal to the humanity of one's oppressors. They'd argue it might take longer but ultimately would create a longer lasting peace.

The difference between you and them are different assumptions about human beings.

  • @DrunkenPoetic That is exactly what it is.. an appeal, a call to the humanity within the oppressive human being. The power has made them blind but someday they gotta see the light.

  • Blessings to Aung San Suu Kyi on this international women's day.

  • Shut up those mother fuckers who are insulting her English. She achieved BA from the Oxford Uni an Ph.D. from the Uni of London. If u know nothing about her, don't criticise her.

  • @sayasu88

Her superb English proficiency, impressive. Her political philosophy, and her embodiment of it, distinctive.

Most remarks here are generous and respectful.

Using the "F_ _ _" word yourself says much about your vulgarity.

Citing brand names like Oxford or Uni of London does not cover

your lack of civility. She doesn't need your defense. Her grace is self-sufficient

    and contagious.

  • @lbchuayt I don't know why you attack me personally. I talk about her inspiring history so some idiots who doubt about her abilities would know the truth. By the way, using big words doesn't mean it is good english. Make it simple to communicate better.

  • Well articulate and well said weapon is only for the use who do not think thisis true

  • the gun is a product of human intelligence. Why not use it ? Americans won their independence from Britain with the gun.

So did Canada. Looks like people who don't have guns use non-violence. Poor people use non-violence as an excuse for their incompetence. Gandhi may be great. But lot of people have lost their lives to non-violence bullshit. People became cannon fodder during British rule of India.

  • they say violence isn't the answer, BUT lets face it. where would we be in WW2 if violence wasn't the answer. i believe you have to keep the violence to the minimum.

  • @sargentpepperoni, Violence is just a means to more violence, it's a never ending cycle. You've done this to me, therefore i'll do this too you, no one ever really wins, both partys lose out in the end. The only way to succeed is non violence, thats why the civil rights movement worked, or indian independence. Thousands will be sacrificed along the way, but eventually someday they'll get what they wanted, because love will always conquer hate.

  • @sargentpepperoni . lol yeah look at the endless circle of america vs the middle eats, to simplify it.nelson mandela, martin luther king, gandhi didnt kill anyone.

  • Dont u guys still not realize that so called democracy are abused by western elite society nowadays to deliver never-ending beautiful slogans while how much do the general public actually gain from it??

  • what the country needs the most is the stability and hence more investment and job opportunity..her so called 'democracy' will only cause more troubles to the poor people.considering the country's poor literacy, infrastructure, etc, multiparty elections will only wasting more money on these endless and inefficient debates and fights!

  • respect her courage, but she just a tool of western propaganda

  • @manofadventure .... how can you insult her by claiming "she is a tool of western propaganda" ?

Suu Kyi may be many things to many people and not everyone will agree with her but one thing she is not ..... she is not a tool of anybody, western or otherwise! She has always followed her heart and mind regardless of the enormous personal costs she suffered. She is one of those rare human beings who lives and dies by her principles. Dont' support her cause if you disagree but don't insult her.

  • Aung is a true world leader; it is a pity that her freedom has been taken away by the bully boys who fear her.

  • well said, if governments didnt want war, there wouldnt be a war.

  • There are a lot of sick people on the web these days - just from reading some of these comments.

  • karestase...i hope you die

  • dude shes old enough to be ur grandmother, would u rape u own grandmother.

  • I actually dug the mother fucker up only last weak to slam that pussy.

  • Without nuclear bomb`s there most likely would have been a ww3 maybe more thank you america for keeping countrys like Russia/Chin/Japan/Iran pinned down all these years because without it i could be in a cage or campsite speaking some jibberish language
