Granted, Federer is the best of All Time right now. But Nadal "was" better, since his injury he won't be a match anymore. But because Nadal had the ability to push himself, he was better. No one can argue that Federer is better, as head to head, Nadal has won almost twice as much as Federer. But yes, Federer can win against Nadal on clay, Nadal beat him on the battle of the surfaces (not for money).

The battle of surfaces is.. a stupid notion because either way, it favors the clay courter. Opponent on the clay side? The Nadal topspin digs in more. Opponent on the grass side? You're getting shitty bounces while Nadal has plenty of time to do whatever he wants.

Anyway, best of all time is a longevity issue, too. If one player destroyed all of the top players for ONE grandslam, then flamed out, would he be considered the best of all time? I doubt it.
