  • Do you need to use alternate picking to play this? My picking hand is struggling to keep up.

  • Incredible song

  • OMG! I have recently been getting back into pre 70's music. I am only 15 so i have only recently come across such great artists like the turtles, the shadows, the kinks etc. The thing is I have heard all of their music on the radio, but i have never been able to trace it. Now this I know and Love as it is Brian Matthews Intro and Exit Jingle. BBC Radio 2 Saturday 8:00 - 10:00. Ah sounds of the sixties! Great show and a great era of music and i am so glad i have been able to track down this truly

  • OMG !

Anyone else beg mum and dad to buy you a guiter back in the 60s and pretend to 'play' this track as a kid..plectrum an all ?

    Happy dayzzzzzzzz.

  • @ferark I love this song. I remember playing this from vinyl from one of Mum/Dads old collection. And I wasn't born until '89! :)

  • wicked tune dont it

  • I met Bruce Welch once and I can honestly say he is one of the nicest men I have ever come across. He was a real gentleman and an absolute delight to speak to as well as being a great musician, of course -Donna

  • This is THE definitive version of the Shad's FINAL number one in the UK

  • It's a brilliant tune, and a brilliant performance. Both of the Shadows' drummers were class acts, and of course Brian Bennett still is (RIP Tony Meehan). Mostly, I prefer the beat music that succeeded this material, although I do love this one. However, I can say, as a drummer myself, that a drummer's job was usually a lot easier in the beat era. To play with the Shadows and the like required a lot more speed and skill.

  • Simple and Beauty...

  • Sounds of the 60's <3

  • @JebadiahBeiler It is still played on radio 2 at the end of sounds of the 60s @ about 10am

  • i believe that this record their last nummer 1 in the uk , just before the beatles began their run in the charts

  • one of the most uplifting songs ever made first class!!!!!

  • i always love Brian's little drum solo in the middle pure class.

  • Excellent!!!

  • In the old "Stingray" TV series there's an episode where some famous pop star comes to visit the base. He performs a song that sounds a lot like this, but with some bad lyrics added.
