  • it would be awesome if he does wina nascar title and lemans i think he is underrated cuz he is canadian he is one of the great all time racers

  • Much like his father, Jacques is a legend. He's won the Indy 500, F1 World Championship, and got second place overall at the 2008 24 Hours of Le Mans. He has truly continued his legendary father's legacy, and may he have more success in the future!

  • F1 rules !

nascars and indy are for assholes!

  • I'm surprised that no one has pointed out how much of an asshole the interviewer was in the way he kept bringing up Gilles and his death!

  • THE MOST ENTERTAINING DRIVER TO EVER RACE IN F1 HISTORY

  • @jezzetv ever heard of ayrton senna?

  • Agree that JV isn't the greatest driver ever, but you don't win Indy 500 and F1 world championship by being a bad driver either. And, besides, the reason why so many people want to see him back is because he had a personality. F1 is full of vapid robots right now. We need people like JV to bring an edge back to the sport.

  • Schumacher, Villeneuve, Montoya and their generation were so much cooler than drivers we have now. Vettel and Massa are good, but the rest are so fricking boring.

  • It's about a sport, legends etc...money has little to do about it, they all make a bundle anyways...

  • Errr no it doesn't. In 97, he had everything to succeed, but the real Villeneuve portrait showed up AFTER 1997, hence nothing. Sorry, but when you are good, you stay good until the end.

  • I agree that you have to be your own, and speak your mind, but to a certain point. Villeneuve didn't have the weight or the muscle to make his words stick like a Senna or a Prost, he was basically a joke that eventually faded to black and he got his ass kicked out of the sport.

  • I doubt that you'll dish out a productive follow up to your comment, but try explaining to me why you admire Villeneuve...

  • "perfect sport on television"

Nascrap? Give me a break! obviously they haven't seen bike racing(all forms)!

  • he's got a wife and a kid now??

man my heart is breaking... he was my celebrity crush in my teenage years!

who the heck is the lucky bitch?

  • Respect Jacques!!!

  • Why do french people get offended when you dont do something they're way, if he wants to have the name of his restarauant a english version, ITS HIS DECISION!

  • Comment removed

  • french hate the english, for obvious reasons... to them.

  • Then go watch curling and fuck off gimp.

  • well that was mature my compliments clap clap! y dont you go f off and realize that there is a golden center to every debate - i enjoy sports were people dont have the possibility of getting killed- gymnastics is fascinating no one dies there- so is figure skating- track and fiend the list goes on and on.

  • Then I congratulate you massively for realising that it's a dangerous sport, bravo, anybody knows that, so If you hate it, then you know what to do.

  • You can die doing anything.

  • Jacques Villeneuve if they beat Schumacher in 1997. Jacques is the best under pressure. SCHUMI SUCKS!!!!!

  • Villenuvue's replacement (Robert Kubica) crashed at Villenuvue's home track in 2007 and won a year later on the same track.

  • Jacques Villeneuve is the best F1 World Champion EVER!!!!

Thank you Jacques for your talent.

  • are you guys speaking french or quebecois?

  • don't worry guys, lazerpod66 is just a stupid guy who don't know what racing is... :))

  • O Lol, and you should know better? Give me your opinion(If you dare) and let's see how much you know or don't know....

  • Indycars, easy racing, nothing there, no great achievment...

  • So?

  • I obviously have the greatest respect for Gilles, which I had the honor to meet personaly while racing snowmobiles. I also met Nicco Rosberg and Jackie Stewart, a few times.

You may think Jacques had the best car and that doing the best lap times during the qualifications is mainly due to the car, but, winning the race is something else in which the driver plays the major role.

Cars does not decide when to overtake, where to brake and when to take a chance...yet...

  • Even though, if you are a very good driver in a bad car, you won't go far, so the car does about 90% of the work for you. A clear example of this is Mika Salo in the Ferrari at Hockenheim 1999.

  • I fully agree with this statement.

No good car, or no sponsor, and you are out of the game...

  • Agreed my friend.

  • I has been a snowmobile racer as well as a Kart racer and a JetSki racer and a plane pilot and helicopter pilot... and I can tell you that whoever say ANY F1 driver is not a super driver have no idea what driving and racing is...

All these F1 racers have something very few peole have... energy, no fear, focus, ability, courage and +++ dedication.

  • You don't know what you are saying.

  • What's your problem with jv?Naming someone an asshole is easy.He became f1 worldchampion(beating that asshole and amlighty schumi),became indycar champ, winning the indy 500,you think this is a matter of luck, how many did this?I just think you have a personal problem with him(as far this is possible if you are not related to him or have contact).Jaques is a very talented driver just like his father, and has the same gutz, something that doesn't excist in f1 anymore, except for Alonso maybe.

  • I don't know if he can or can not drive a stockcar straight because we don't get that here in Europe on tv,so i can't judge on that.About the fact he didn't do anything to help developing the BAR f1 car,who did?No one,Bar never had an competitve car,i agree,Jaques is a racer, not an engineer. He won the f1 championship because he had the best car?Agree, that's one of the reasons, like most other f1 champions.

  • When you are good, you remain so until the end of your career, like Nigel Mansell or Schumacher, but JV was obviously not. When he left BAR in 2003, the year after, the car was very competitive, much more than when he was there, he was holding the team back. And another thing, when he got kicked out of BMW, Kubica who took his place in his car showed himself to be instantly quicker than Villeneuve, you have to agree on this!

  • so,that's the reason for you to name him an asshole?

  • lazerpod, remember me? just to let u know u are a nonce and a cunt. i hope ur mother dies

  • Still alive you aids infected turd? How can you type while you have a dildo up your homo ass tarquishit89?

  • i dunno if JV himself was holdin BAR back but id say his 25mil salary was, he probably should hav taken a pay cut for the team.

Cant help thinking aswell that he needed a new challenge after becoming champion

  • Totally agree

  • @ladetis

well you called Schumi and asshole? how are you better than anybody calling JV an asshole or whatever else they call him

name calling is just childish and really says more about you then the person being attacked..

  • Jacques Villeneuve is THE BEST!!!!!

Number 1 for ever, thank you Jacques.

  • Villeneuve kidding?. You forget that Jacques beat Schumacher is not an easy task. I do not think Jacques schumi is better pilot, but the canadian has something that no schumi: gills, and it showed in Jerez 1997, when he was passing behind Michael in the points.

  • Anybody can be good in the best car, which Villeneuve had in 96 and 97. After 97, what did Villeneuve do??? NOTHING.

  • Villeneuve won 11 races and a championship in his first two years, but then poor handling cars (from 1998 to 2006), whitch did not allow him to archieve anything.

I do not think that schumi can win 91 races and championships with 7, for example; the BAR of Villeneuve.

  • Ok. The one thing you have to look is that Villeneuve was and still is a very lazy driver, technically speaking. He can't develop a car, hammer it into winning shape, so what did you expect him to do...not much. But Schumacher, for all his dirty and illegal driving, had some very good tech feedback, and was capable to motivate the team and develop the car into a winning one. Villeneuve is a driver, no more, and not even a good one at that.

  • I agree, lazerpod66. Villeneuve did not have the capacity to develop a car as Schumacher, but it wakes me up is their admiration for Jacques guts to define a title an his aggressive style of driving.

Schumacher was very talented, but was not the best under pressure, as evidenced by their definitions in Adelaida '94 and Jerez '97.

I think Jacques Villeneuve would have been better at the time of his father Gilles, both of which ran in F1 with a similar aggressive style.

  • Very good comment victor, take care my friend.:)

  • Well said.

  • you know what i don't agree with you, every guys in the garage of BAR Honda or BMW Sauber did tell that the were missing him so much, because he was a very great developer, he gave hope to them that they could be a little good some day... so...

  • Ok, then tell me dude why the minute he quit BAR, the car was immediately quicker and better???And if he were that good, he would still be in f1, like Barrichello...

  • @lazerpod66

Just mentioning the name of Sato goes to show that you are a real joke and JERK in capital at the same time. I guess you don't even deserve comments beyond this point (Ostit trou de Q)

  • Lol, you are the typical asshole that followed the sport of F1 just because Villeneuve was in it, then when he finally dissapeared, you started listening to curling because some dude from Québec played that game. Oh, BTW, va chier gros bs sale.

  • if schumacher had to drive with a minardi or something even worse he wouldn't won a single gp

  • of course. but best drivers end up in the best cars.

  • Comment removed

  • you are from Canada, right?... so why do you attack jacques villeneuve.

He was the only one world champion from canada.

By the way, I AM NOT VILLENEUVE´S FAN, but he is great champion.

  • Because if you retrace his career, a total waste. He was champion just because he drove the best car, not a worthy champion. If you are good, you remain good for your entire career, which he wasn't.

  • Ok lazerpod66, jacques is not good for you, but what do you thing about gilles?

  • Ok thanks for your question. Gilles Villeneuve is from the same province as I. He was a supernatural driver, the kind that appears on earth one every 100 years. He is, to my opinion, the quickest driver there ever was, the best naturally skilled driver of all time, different than Senna, but Gilles is a racing legend. The main reason why Jacques got into f1 is because of his illustrious name, his father opened the doors for him.

  • stromboulopoulos is a muppet
