first time i heard this song in the 70s. sung by marie osmond and i always sang this wonderful song with my sister as back-up singers and we act like we in the talentime... oooo really do love thiis song...
and of course , as pointed out by Owen4031, on the actual programme she lip syncs to the original french. Wonderful Dream has been dubbed over the original sound. The original french of this vid has just been posted actually.
She sings so wonderfully! I loved the original French version, because I grew up listening to that song in French. Beautiful
However, no offense, but is that piano player really playing along or is he just pretending to play along, with the background music on soundtrack at the max volume, because I can't hear anything coming FROM him?!!!!
@94ayd Indeed, and it's good to see. I've noticed that about French women in particular. They have a saying in France that a woman is only beautiful when she reaches 40, before that she's merely pretty I suppose. That idea alone must give women tremendous confidence in their looks, and make them far less likely to resort to the surgeon's knife like in Britain or particularly America, where you see some truly frightful sights as a result.
Yes, you are hearing the English lyrics soundtrack here but this video is still the one of her actually singing in French. It's just been dubbed with the English soundtrack.

The frensh text "tu te reconnaitras" ("You will recognize yourself") is much better. :(
But Anne Marie is still that pretty woman she was in 1973.

as far as i am aware, lip syncing was the norm. on this TV programme.
Ms David normally sings this live beautifully i can assure you.

I prefer the French version. But i wonder why the English translation is nothing like the French translation.
