I'm so glad you found the video and provided the story behind what for me was the most compelling photo. Thank you for your kind words about the video.
I selected some of the photos to demonstrate my ardent support for the troops, so many good-hearted men, and also for the children lost in this horrible fray. Thank you again. I wish we could rate comments. I would give yours five stars.
Major Bieger, I had seen him help rescue some of our guys a week earlier during another big attack, took some of our Soldiers and rushed this little girl to our hospital. He wanted her to have American surgeons and not to go to the Iraqi hospital. She didnt make it. I snapped this picture when Major Bieger ran to take her away. He kept stopping to talk with her and hug her.
Major Mark Bieger (US ARMY) found this little girl after the car bomb that attacked our guys while kids were crowding around. The Soldiers here have been angry and sad for two days. They are angry because the terrorists could just as easily have waited a block or two and attacked the patrol away from the kids. Instead, the suicide bomber drove his car and hit the Stryker when about twenty children were jumping up and down and waving at the Soldiers.
I think for now, we have to wait for historians to reveal the good, something we can't see in the midst of so much violence. But, as much as I hate this war, I pray that more good will come of it than ill. Thank you again for your moving story.
here is why. at the end of the day, when a combat vet who has seen/done terrrible things has to stand to face them, it doesnt matter what good they did. they are endlessly stuck with the guilt and images of what havoc they wreaked, even when the intention was to minimize collateral damage. so, in the end for many it is a sum zero, the ptsd they carry around eats them like a cancer. we all know a lot of good individual acts take place, but the horror of war is what should never be forgotten.
@Loomes23 So sad that Barry Soetero was part of the plan of those who finance all sides of all wars for their own profit and the ruination and dehumanization of US.
Name any of the good that has come out of this occupation ????
I'm sure Bush never lost any sleep or shed one tear for any deaths brought on by his lies..

its such a compelling story about Major Mark Bieger, I can't even imagine the pain he must have felt, along with the other soldiers.

sad thing is there is always gonna be war, maybe not between America but war none the less.
Now I'm not here to bash your great video (it is) but why don't we create a music video showing all the good that has come out of this occupation?
and I'm sure Bush is feeling for the deaths of our soidiers...I hope.
