  • Incredible piece of kit- makes our British kit of the era with turret tuning look out of the Arc. Interesting although you sound American to me, as you said a colonial style 'grid current' in your dialogue and not plate current. Ah! ....maybe you are Canadian!- Sorry difficult for Brit. to distinguish the difference. Seriously though only the the Germans could have come close to this. Thanks for posting.

  • that's an aircraft radio? looks like it weighs half a ton, must take a B-29 to carry it lol, seriously tho what a gorgous piece

  • I still play with (use) my ART-13 on the air sometimes on AM mode although when I got it in 1974 (I was 13 at the time) I had to run a lot of CW on it as the SSB guy's didn't like AM operators all that much. Still I got to run some AM on it back then & it was a fun transmitter in those days as well as now.

  • Does anyone know how to take out the multiplier circuit. I have a junker and it all most looks like you have to take all of the auto tune suff apart?

  • Great stuff! I hope to own an ART-13 one day. Teamed with a 51J type, SP600, or R390x series receiver, it should be a great AM station. I like the idea that one can work part of the WARC bands with these beautiful BAs.

  • Wasn't to bad because it was not in the multiplier section, which is near impossible to work on in the unit.

  • Yep that the section I think I went bad on mine and it looks like its going to be fun.

  • Was it fun changing out the resistor. I think I have the same problem on mine. Last time I had it on the air I was able to get 180 watts out.
