@mctyler86 maybe Vince wanted to tell the WWF/E fans that Hogan is their cash cow and franchise player at that time. And Vince maybe does NOT want the fans to boo Hogan. I heard the fans are TIRED of Hogan that's why they cheered Sid when he eliminated Hogan.
Yeah that edit was bad/wrong and yes the crowd popped for Hogan getting eliminated but they didn't exactly explode. Also does no one notice the boo's in the original? The way people mention this edit it's like some great injustice was performed and the crowd went insane at Hogan being eliminated but I clearly heard people booing as Hogan was eliminated once the pop died down.
Well no kidding. Some people were still Hogan fans, but his popularity was waning at that point because he'd been shoved down everyone's throats so relentlessly for so long. The proof is in the pudding when Hogan pulled Sid out. Hogan got a little pop for helping to eliminate Sid, but nothing like the roar Sid got for eliminating Hogan. When Hogan was hot, he would have gotten huge pop.
I forgot at the time that they even re-dubbed the commentary from the end of the '92 Rumble, all I knew was the ORIGINAL commentary at the end Rumble.....
WWF got so pissed that sid was cheered for eliminating hogan that that they edited the VHS release such utter bull flair was the '92 winner and in '93 he was in WCW wonder how that made the exec's feel
thats stupid how wcw made fake goldberg noise chants, wwe edits out cena boos at wm27 and many times before. hogan gets fake cheers hear. thats messing with the fans and with reality. stupid fake shit. i curse anyone who watches this stuff, including myself
Crowd explodes when Sid dumps Hogan. You can even see it in the background of the edited version lol. He was the John Cena of the early 90's.
At least wait for him to turn around and get a look at your face when you throw somebody out? Godammit Gorilla... He was playing by the rules and Hogan has done the exact same thing in Rumbles past. Randy Savage in 1989 being just one example.
@jclebot Their werent that many cheers, Sid was a fan favourite at the time aswell so people were probably just happy for him, as for being the John Cena, behave Cena is not even close to what Hogan was, also at this time society was changing and people decided that being bad was cool and not to be a hero, no wonder we live in such a terrible world
That's a little bit overly dramatic don't you think? Fans started turning on Huck and the sky is falling? Fans were just getting tired of the Huckster. There were still plenty of "good guys" that were really over, still are to this day. The Hogan cheese was just going out of style because it had run it's course and was starting to look ridiculous to a lot of fans. It was dated and there were a lot of wrestlers hitting their peaks who made him look old and slow.
Why did they edit out the CHEERS when Hogan was tossed by Sid?

@kimv020887 basically wwe wanted to protect Hogan's character

@jclebot Hogan also did it to the Warrior in 1990. And without going back and watching it, I'm sure he did it in 1991, as well.

@Moss235 It's nice that people want rebels rather than cheesy, clean cut heroes.
