As very experienced home-exchangers (55 exchanges so far and counting!) I think it's important to put the record straight. The vast majority of home-exchangers DO NOT home exchange to get free / cheap holidays! Rather the motivation is linked into taking a holiday within a community and having neighbours, family and friends nearby rather than spending time in a soul-less, sterile holiday complex.
