Wow! You are really good. I'm thinking of buying a bodhran but have no idea what size I would be happy with. What is your preference? It'd be a big help.
I'm sure it must be frustrating as a female musician and people commenting on your attractiveness, maybe more than your skill, but hell I have a bodhran video up and would be ecstatic if girls told me I was cute on my video, but at least you are equally talented and beautiful ;)
Great playing love, I am the singer of a Celtic metal band and am learning every fold instrument I can to add to the sound during my times when I'm not singing and my hands are idle.........Bloody cute too;)
i think you may need to spray abit of water over the skin to tighten it a little bit , not too much don't soke it just a couple of sprays or use a damp cloth :) keep playing your very good at it , peace x
Sorry correction , you spray the skin when it's loose but to tighten it , go over it with a hair dryer it works really well i just done it on mine water and with a hair dryer it's an old trick that actually works take it easy peace .
Megan, You play very well. I'm just beginning to learn the basics. Your triplets are fantastic! Where did you learn to play so well? I'd love to see your tipper in slow motion because your so fast it's just a blur to me....Love the Toss The Feathers part...
If this is you learning, then I can only imagine how good you'll be when you're further along in your mastery of it. Well done and keep up the good work.
I just recently learned the name of this drum, before I called it the "drum where you spin the drumstick" I'm glad I looked it up, you're a very good player.
Lovely job! I'm just in love with the instrument, and you've done a fantastic job here. Haven't had the chance to play it myself yet, but just, wow. Nicely done, looking forward to more in the future. And like Mr. B. said, if you've got any tips for beginners, please, share!
hi. great video. i just starting to learn how to play. have you any advice on good songs to start off on. ones you could follow easily. any advice would be great.
@MrGnaes Definitely the cutest bodhran player ;) (And quite good!, I do a shit solo on my page as well, maybe I should play to Eluveitie or one of my bands songs so it doesn't sound so boring)
Very nicely played, and I love the sound of your bodhran. What is the name of the second tune? I've been going nuts about this for the last few days, I recognize it very well, just can't seen to peg a name on it and find it so I can learn it. Thanks.
You're great, how long have you been playing. I'm also a girl that's getting into the sounds of drums and was wondering how hard of an instrument it is to pick up?
No, not to hard. It doesn't take you that long to get the movement and flow up to enough skills to play with others, what's hard is to play different beats and to be able to change between those, and to get the pitch to move right. The greatness of this instrument is the control you get with playing with just one stick, the fact that you can change pitch with your hand onm the back of your drum, and the speed you can reach, using your top end of the beater too :)

is it hard to learn? I got a tin whistle with a little booklet only to realise I can't make head or tails of all the music stuff.
wolfbrother0 5 months ago
