  • The music is retarded

  • shes a great dancers and she puts the music shit.

  • MUY BUENOS SUS MOVIMIENTOS ES EXCELENTE!! PERO LA MUSICA NO ACOMPAÑA..

  • ugly i think pls dislike

  • 0:20 "the fuck was that!?" o.O

  • Congratulations Sam! Hope to post all your latest routines, where you've been successfully capturing and inspiring judges and audience. Soon, you'll be on TV, so the whole world will enjoy watching you dance...You can be the next Melanie Moore...just keep working hard...

  • It was good but its was too sharp...let it flow more

  • i seriously don't get why the top 2 comments are 'Bad comments'

this was an amazing dance, it went perfect with the music and she felt every move (unlike any other dancers i see on this channel)

  • That was incredible!

  • very daring

tells a parallel story to the music

    vulnerable and daring

    yes, very daring

  • wow, still lovely to watch you...and tx for posting your ave maria solo this year...simply beautiful and breathtaking...but i heard its not the one that won at starpower nationals.! i wonder who would beat you...maybel an 18yr old...

  • check out Sam's latest solo on youtube called "Ave Maria" posted by dancedanceddr from ihollywood

  • kinda weird but amazing

  • Wow Awesome performer. Wow!!!

  • I am a 13 year old dancer... and not to be mean but i am BETTER. :)

  • @Jenndancer13 good for u...hope to see u on stage live...work hard, be good and be humble my dear...

  • looks more like the devil in possesion of her mind

  • She needs a better oufit for the dance and the moves arent re ally connected to the song so I guess its not really good xD

  • i dont get it ??? is that even a type of dance??

  • whats this song called??

  • KASSIDY CHISM IS BETTER WOOP WOOP

  • hi so i noticed u said u did competition dance.. can u please explain it to me? ive been thinking about getting involved too, but im very nervous! ive danced since i was 3 and i love to preform, but i go to Boston ballet, a professional ballet school , so i have mostly training in ballet. to do a competition do u have to go to a special school? also, can u please explain competitions to me in general? thank you!

  • Still better than some feature shows ive seen

  • 1:08 "The Elaine"

  • keep pressing 9 and she broke something.

  • terrible choreographer.

  • 0:55

  • more like UN amazing dancer. LOLZ 0:55

  • I'm sorry but I am a dancer. I'm ten years old and I dance WAY better. sorry. you mad? it wasn't meant to make anybody mad

  • Yes I agree with ziggy she isn't even dancing with the music

  • @shiverpunt yes i agree but thats what contemporary dance is about, the moves don't usually go with the music, it's kind of liek freestyle ballet:)

  • Hate lyrical dancing. It just seems like jumping all over the place to me :/

  • Wow she's really amazing and i dance and i wish i could get my jumps to seem as graceful and effortless as hers. she's really something(:

  • Guess I just don't get it. I'm no dancer, but I can see she has talent. I just find the routine and the music clash, and not in a good way. For me, dance needs to be connected to the music, not occur in spite of it. I particularly found the tribal-like dance parts annoying. If there's no connection, why have the music at all?

That said, she's clearly talented and I wish her luck. This performance just didn't move me, personally. But that's art, isn't it? It doesn't need to reach everyone.

  • what song is this?!

  • @picu08 Obviously it's said right above, in the top comments...

  • @B3kiLuVZm4rL3y yeah didnt see it

  • how do you do that fall thingy when you fall down on to one knee?

  • you should watch her jazz/open piece broken dreams...and her 2010 modern contemporary piece called walk on by, Ms. Paula Abdul called her "exquisite feet!" Proud of Sam...

  • wow....amazing dancer!

  • I think this girl us the most talented girl I've ever seen she did a phenomenal job

  • very expressive

  • she communicates nothing other than herself. As skilfful as she is, there is no sympathy between the music and her dance

  • Damn she got some ABS

  • She's good. Wish she'd dance more and quit jerking around.

  • She did amazing! I am a dancer myself and she amazed me sooooooooo much w/ her talent!!! :) Great Job Samantha I hope I become as good as u one day! :)

  • shes really pretty even though her dancing was too fast for the music it was still beautiful

  • @msdarkcolors

the thing about dance is that you don't have to dance to the same tempo of the music and there's usually a reason for that. she was probably trying to express something, more lyrical, than focus on matching the tempo.

  • i think the way she dances is like how a girl would react when she gets heartbroken or hurt (fast and aggressive.)

  • Her coreographie doesn't work togther with the music I think..^^

  • I dont know much of dancing. But for me it doesn't match with the music.... it's much too fast. therefore i don't like it.

  • I can't stop looking at this it's so good!

  • Shes a great dancer although she is dancing to fast for the music. Other then that it is great!!!

  • shes movin too fast for her song but shes great wish i was that flexible

  • omg. loved this. its rare to find a dancer that is so technically strong but still so captivating. she is brilliant

  • @jLpMbM tx for ur kinds words...i went on ur site and she's an amazing dancer too! is that u?

  • @loida7766 no, that is not me on my page. my page is set to show videos that i have in my favorites. that is alicia clifton, she is from OK, she attends applause studios in oklahoma city.

  • Oh my God she is an amazing dancer. IMO the song was totally wrong for her for performance. She's a fire dancer poise, rhythm and especially passion blended with control. I think the performance would be better with a different song that balanced more with this young athletic dancer's power. She is beyond incredible. I'm especially impressed with her control.

  • @Merrida100 thats exactly what i thought... she should have chosen a better song!!!

  • @Merrida100 hi! tx sooo much for ur beautiful comments! she's 15 now and do teach and choreographs...she loves to dance and share her talent...

  • she needs to control her arms more. there are parts where her arms are flying around when they shouldn't be. nonetheless, she is still an amazing dancer

  • she looks mentally ill.

  • WTF O_O

  • She's good but she looked like she was having a seizure sometimes.

  • She looks like the girl from dancing with the stars...

  • Must admit I just laughed.

  • I think she is dancing a little too fast..I don't think this kind of dance is good for her

  • Very powerful, sharp movements...she's a good dancer but she needs to calm down a little bit. I thought she was jumping, tumbling, shaking around a bit too much.

  • WORKKK!!!

  • Yap! Amazing indeed!!!

  • sorry but i dont like at all.the song is emotional and she dances good but so nervous, prodigy song would be better for her.

  • some parts needed to be be softer, it was a lil chaotic! but she is amazing, didn't particularly like the choreography.

  • wow i am inspired

  • I thik its too emotional... in some parts its need to be softer like the song.

But she´s a really great dancer!

  • q vontade de se expressar!

    AMEI!

  • she's a rlly good dancer but it's a rlly nasty dance. she just looks gross. she looks like she could be an iceskater tho

  • very nice fitness video.

  • she should consider wearing tights o.o

  • @yellowfellow6107

    why do you say that?

  • @taryndancer29 her butt is hanging out and it looks unprofessional idk thats just what i think

  • @yellowfellow6107

ok yeah i kinda noticed that too haha

  • beatiful art.....no words....

  • 0:42...what was that?

  • amazing choreography and so well executed !

  • hey samantha, i heard you won 1st overall on your new lyrical solo at starpowers. Was it same choreographer? Pls. post it or anyone pls...i want to see. You must have matured more in your dancing, hope you arent mouthing the lyrics anymore and i hope to see some sof lyrical from you...

  • you call that tallent ill shot ya tallent * trys to dance Awhh my back *judges YEAH 10/10!!!

  • Can't stop watching! Sooo powerful and breathtaking'

  • lovely, the only thing that takes away from it is that she's mouthing the lyrics. other than that it's fantastic

  • very....diverse...

  • do u have anything newer...i bet its better now that u r 14 or 15

  • this was just last season.

  • WERK

  • i think everyone needs to chill out its just dance if u dont like it you dont like it..personally i loved it i feel the reason her technique might not look as sharp as it really is could be because she was sooo into the movement and her emotions were getting the best of her but she really is anamazing dancer

  • she's a Nature-girl...

  • sam i have seen her i sooo long. u have become a great dancer! i love ya

  • yes mam

  • oh dear, you are indeed a force to be reckoned...You are sooo young! I wish there is SYTYCD for your age group. Hope you dont stop dancing...and YES I BELIEVE THAT YOU DID GET INTO ABT AND YES YOU CAN BE ACCEPTED 3X EVEN MORE BECAUSE YOU CAN AUDITION EVERYYEAR. AND CONGRATULATIONS TO JULLIARDS!!! WAY TO GO GIRL!!!

  • She did an absolutely amazing job! I can't believe she's so young and so advanced. Kudos!

  • What talent!

  • I liked it however, I feel like she needs a little more control. You can be emotional and still have control but still very good fro such a young girl.

  • Beautiful. Her emotion and commitment to the dance is amazing

  • the emotion is so real

  • The song is 'Something for the Pain' by Leslie Nuchow. It's a hard song to find though.

I love this dance so much! It's very beautiful, and the feeling in it is wonderful!

  • what is this song?

  • I can't stop watching 1:39- 1:45, both the choreography and emotion were breathtaking. This is an amazing dancer

  • The more I watch this the more I like it. I guess because it is different and so energetic/emotional in it's moves that you feel a little startled at first but if the more you watch it the more I see discover and the more it touches me. With most other dances I get just more bored watching many times.

Sam, awesome job, I'm looking forward working with you!

  • that was realy gud i love the chireography and the technice and the axle was great.that jump couldnt have been better he feet were pointed very great ur are a inspiration! keep it up you go gurl =]

  • phenomonal, just dont lip sync

  • i honestly love the way she dances, but the choreography could have flowed better. all of the skills like the calypso, the axle, the turning c-jump, the triple pirouette, etc, were all grouped together in one part and they came one after the other. the rest of the routine had a few other skills, but it was mainly pure emotion and thrashing. i still love the routine and style, though

  • WOW!! This video of Samantha has already reached over 20,00 hits!! That's great! Congrats to Sam, her family, her hard work n dedication to dance, and her studio! Keep it coming people! Pls continue to support this young and talented dancer! :)

  • yes, i think this is good, if its your style. i am personally not a fan of thrashing around like you have no idea what to do. if this is the dance you want, than change the song. when she actually does real dancing, it is spectacular. but most of the time she is going wild. it is very sloppy and not at all what i would call dance. it is not my intention at all to be rude, i am just giving my opinion.

  • i 'love' these kind of comments. A paragraph of condescending critique and saying how this isn't even dancing, and then at the end saying, 'oh I'm not rude, just my opinion'. Well you *are* rude and call it your opinion or whatever you want, it is still condescending and in this case borderline nasty. Just because it is your opinion doesn't make it OK to put her down.

If you don't understand it, if it doesn't fit in your mind, don't be so ignorant to criticize it and call it 'not dance'.

  • I don't care what people say about this ... this dance moved me to tears .. amazing

  • now THAT'S what i call passion for dance! she is inspiring :)

  • This girl is a force to be reckoned with. The beauty of her dance is that she through out her technique and DANCED! Many young people nowadays don't know how to do that or know what that even means.

  • I totally agree! She has so much passion in dancing. Check on her other youtube videos, just type Samantha Cantoria and you'll her other solos and latest group dances performed at Pulse on Tour in front of Mia Michaels, Brian Friedman, Wade Robson and others. Certainly got recognition and invitation to perform again in the Pulse future showcase...GREAT STUFF!!!

  • What song is this?

  • for everyone who ask : the song is Something for the pain by Leslie Nuchow

  • First of all, whoever's shouting in this video needs to shut up.

That said, her arms don't like to cooperate with the rest of her body, and her feet don't like to pointe correctly. I'm kinda suprised she got the high scorings that she did. Not trying to be rude, just saying....

  • so what ? if the judges have found her perfomance wonderful, they have given her what she deserved!

what you say wont change anything so please don't talk like that . i would see you do half what she does! i think YOU need to shut up.i don't want to be rude neither ^^

    sorry for bad english

  • I've been dancing since I was six, I do tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, irish, ballroom, and belly dancing. I'm currently on pointe, and have had solos in my company's Nutcracker performance for the past three years. I am a pre-profesional ballerina, and have been placed into advanced lyrical, jazz, and tap classes. Don't tell me I can't do this.

  • show me a video then :)

everyone can tell they can do this. i can tell it. even though i know i CAN'T! i've been dancing since a long time to. and i've done the same things as you. but i'm not as talented as Samantha Cantoria!!! this girl is born for dancing!!!! don't you see her style ?? You could have been dancing since your birth, technique isn't worth beauty, emotion. stop pride yourself on being a pre-porfessional. no one matters !

  • I have a pulled hamstring, and no webcam. I'm sorry but those things are expensive! Even if you have beauty and emotion, it's not a substitute for technique. Besides, without proper technique you can get hurt.

Wait, what do you mean nobody matters? That statement is completely irrelevent.

  • @xXsnazzyjazzyXx you think toooooo highly of yourself, if you expect to see pelvis movement in every dance then you wont . this is style.

  • What? What does pelvic movement have to do with anything?

  • just wanted to ask who are you to say her feet arent all the way pointed and her movement was mostly flailing. u r only a freshmen nowhere near to be critisizing on technique and such. sam has gotten accepted to ABT 3 times and scholarship to julliard so i think she is more advanced then u are. pre-profesional ballerina honey where do u train because i have never seen or heard of u before and i have heard about samantha from a lot of places. if u dont have anything nice to say just keep it shut.

  • who r u talking to?

  • Calm thy self!

Let's start with that Freshman comment. I'm a Sophmore. Now that we've got that cleared up, please try using better grammar next time you post something because I don't fully comprehend the so-called "chat speak". I don't claim to be a great dancer, I'm just a ballerina. Now I have some questions for you.

1- Why would somebody be accepted somewhere thrice?

2- Were you paying attention to her technique?

3- Why don't you like "hatters"? Without hatters you would have no hats!

  • @xXsnazzyjazzyXx that doesnt mean you can show the raw emotion she can. i agree with you, she sometimes has to watch her arms and feet, but there is always room for improvement! shes fabulouS

  • Well, first of all, you are probably jealous of her because she is amazing and is only 13. 2nd of all, her feet are beautiful, and 3rd, have you heard of style? i am sorry this is the 21st century, not the 70's.

dont be rude when you see something tha you arent. Not being rude either!!

  • No I'm not jealous, I never said her feet were ugly, flailing of the limbs isn't style, and what in the world does the century have to do with anything? To my knowledge I didn't say anythig about the year and I fail to see fow it's a valid comment.

  • do you know what ? Real artists are always despised by those who are jealous or those who don't like. if you don't like, don't comment. unless your comment is contructive

  • I'm sorry, but all I was saying is that it could have been better! I'm not jealous whatsoever, and if somebody doesn't like their performance of course they will be critisized! It was constructive if you read the comment as I intended it to be read.

  • i agree wih xxsnazzyjazzyxx ... samantha does not have that good of technique and she doesnt pointe her feet all the way through most of the time when she dances. sure shes flexible but flexibility means nothing if you dont have the strength and technique to support it. i think this could have been a lot better also....

  • @xXsnazzyjazzyXx listen this girl is just trying to say that this kind of dance isnt her cup of tea. i didnt like it that much either but it was beautiful in its own way. just let it go. and what does the seventies have to do with anyway?

  • who singsss this?? :)

  • who sings this song ? whaats it called ?

  • uhhh whats this song? :)

    amazing dancer

  • i cant get tired watching her, esply her other one broken dreams. JPD is lucky to have her...

  • i really liked it.. and i didn't think i would

  • Who choreographed this? Some of it is very similar to Shannon Mather's material like the falls and such, but I'm pretty sure it's not her.lol

  • WOW that is amazing

  • definitely a unique choreography and very well performed. She stands out in a good way.

  • its the style and the emotion she's emitting. This put tears in my eyes SO MUCH EMOTION and so young. this is quite phenomenal. Contemporary style is free moving and there are really now rules apart from flawless technique! :D Anything goes after that, she is an acceptional artist, technician, and dancer...She's going places. 5 STARS. A new fan. Congratulations!

  • I TOTALLY AGREE!

  • really good technique but there's no quality in her movements. it's like she's just going form one step to another. i don't know if that's because of the choreography but what happened to fluidity? instead of a whole sentence, i just got a bunch of words

  • this dance is so captivating! Wish she has more dances on you tube to watch. What studio does she go to? hope to see her in good comps this year

  • i dont wanna be mean but her moves barely go to the music because the songs to slow and shes to fast shes a good dancer but she needs to dance to the beat of the song thats playing

  • REALLY! Well it doesnt matter, she won everywhere in this dance, so the judges actually loved the choreography...sooooo different and simply not boring!

  • wow you must have no rhythm because she clearly in time with the music.

  • wow you must have no rhythm because she clearly in time with the music.

  • yea well imma dancer and those moves dont go with the song her moves are good but they have to go with the music ok

  • and if you think they go then watch it again maybe some parts are but most arent

  • Well I'm a teacher and a choreographer. Her movements are syncopated, she is dancing on the down and up beats of the piano. It would have been boring if she just danced to the slowness of the words.

  • oh yah she did win the danceworld contest. she desrves it. This piece is special and she danced it with so much passion. Hope she has more dance videos...love watching her, simply amazing!

  • ohmygosh she's only 13?

    shes amazing!

  • Yah! Blessed indeed! But she works really hard...Pls watch youtube of her and her friends on PulseTour videos under CHOREOGRAPHER's Pick-Heartless. Mr. Brian Friedman was amazed of them and gave them great critiques.

  • beautiful simply amazing!

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE her solo she has to Broken Dreams!!! Will that dance go to Starpower?

  • her broken dreams solo actually won her miss starpower at vegas nationals

  • Really?! Wow, where have I been?

That's fantastic that she won. :] She's so talented and I'm shocked she's only 13! Such a beautiful dancer.

  • that was the most amazing performance out of just plain dancin i've ever seen. (if she's not with jpd sorry for my mistake, i just assumed she was cuz it says jpd in the search tags) but that was absolutely incredible. she has such raw emotion and the choreography was FANTASTIC!

  • AMAZING!!!

  • wowowoowowowowowow

  • that was really good

    a little spastic at times
